To all those who sew in this group, I have a question. I just used my new sewing machine for the first time last night. They gave us polos to wear for this Deal of the Century thing but of course they are all guys shirts.

Anyway, As I was stiching along I noticed that sometimed it looks like the stich was really long or that it was skipping or something (hoping someone knows what I'm talking about). Anyway, since it's the first time that I'm using the thing I'm not sure if it the machine or if it's user error. Any ideas?

I have to figure this out so I can work on my lime green logo t-shirt. I already took off the sleeves and color so now I definitely and going to need my sewing machine.

There are several different things you could look at but the biggest thing i would look at first is the bobbin, and its setting

Also look to see if your machine is threaded properly both the top and bobbin.

Well i cant believe it 2 days of work are over and i am back to the grind tomorrow. But i did get a lot accomplished Dds formal dress almost done and i HAVE COMPLETED MY DOOR MAGNETS!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Dizzi's advice to make sure the machine & bobbin are properly threaded. When in doubt, I always go back to the owner's manual. I've had my machine 10 years but because I don't use it all the time, I always look at the instructions when I thread it.
This is somewhat embarassing, within the past 6 months I discovered I was winding the bobbin incorrectly the whole time I had it. A few years ago, I took it to be repaired, thinking I had a tension problem. It still was not quite right....until I realized my error. It makes all the difference. Unfortunately, I'm still no Dizzi. I just use mine for simple things like shortening pants & sleeves and making simple curtains. I leave the more involved projects to an expert.

wow, this is the first time in a week I have actually had time to sit down and "surf"

I looked back through some posts... by the time these weeks fly by I am going to need this vacation.

I am about to sit down and type up our weekly schedule, with 4 very busy family members involved in Soccer X 4, Piano X 2, karate, choir, everything else at church,

can anyone remember where I put the magnetic paper I bought to print out my door signs on??? (it was $14!, I must find it or the signs will not be printed that nicely =-).

Pam Kim tried to print out my door sign and only half came up what did she do wrong? Im going to try to print it out at Michi's. Do you think if you email it to me it would work better?

I'm not sure, just let me know if it doesn't work out and I will email it as an attachment. I also have it loaded to photobucket, I could just give you my log on info and you could print it from there, that is where I store all of the door signs I have made. Either way just let me know.
