Hi there, Marsha!
Welcome aboard! Your post caught my eye as I lived for 13 years in Western New York (East Aurora) and went college at RIT! Currently living in Sonoma County, CA. Congratulations on 15 years of wedded "stuff" - that's what my DH calls it!
This trip is going to be a blast!:goodvibes

Hi Tink, Our kids are very close in age (10 and 6 at time of cruise). I will be keeping an eye on your post to borrow any excursion suggestions. Thanks, Laurianne

Hi Laurianne,

That is perfect with there ages

Hi Laurianne,

That is perfect with there ages. I am not sure of the safari it looks cool but I am a germ nut and it's on Camels. I know silly right. We might check out town then play on the ship for the day. Pool days are always lots of fun. I will let you know if I find anything that suits there ages.

Hi Tink and Laurianne,
Camels??? I didn't see one with camels!!! I'm not riding any camels! :scared1:The river safari I mentioned was one that involves going down the Martha Brae in an innertube with helmets on?

Twinkle dust Too funny I looked up Safari and it brought me to Camel safari ride in Ochos Rio I have to find it so you don't think I am crazy. The tubing adventure looks awesome for us and the kids. Let's do it! :-). Sorry about the Camels! I really would love to go to a beach adventure but don't see any. Tubing looks fun!

Seriously, that just made me LOL right now!:rotfl2:
And no worries on the mix up because I'm kind of known for that, myself! You will find no judgment here!
I think to do anything beach-y in Falmouth, you need to travel quite a way. I'm up for trying something different now that the DD is a little older! And I thought the timing would mean I could try an authentic Jamaican jerk meal.

Monica 46, DD Dominic 4, traveling with MoM, Aunt Maria and friend Egda. all 1st time with WDW. We have a party of 9. including friends Cathy, DD Tyler 13yo, Friends Marge 80yo and adult son David We are all from Southern NJ and looking forward to meeting everyone. Early dining.

Yet again welcome aboard

Welcome newcomers.

Any decision regarding time and location yet?

TIA

I'm pretty sure she is referring to the pre-cruise dinner she set up at the steak place.

There hasn't been discussion of an actual on the ship meet and greet yet.... The best time to do that is usually around 3-3:30 the first day. If you don't get to it early people tend to not make it because they get wrapped up in everything else.

Ron

I haven't ever done a meet and greet, but it would be nice to get to know a few faces on the ship. That way I can smile and say hi when walking around. :wave2:

That explains me not finding a beach day. The tubing really looks like fun for the kids and us. I can't wait but I do want summer to go by slow:-).

Thanks for the clarification Ron

Well, .. I suppose this is a fine time to state my thoughts and input regarding the Meet and Greet Aboard, to whom ever may listen. :p , :lmao:

We have always preferred the ones outside, weather permitting. Often this would occur on the deck above the pool deck starboard. We always like this locale. Of course shade is an issue if it is sunny and hot.... which could deter some, yet lure others.

It's always been depressing for us attending the Meets indoors when the weather is nice. I suspect we aren't alone in our thoughts. ;)
It was so obvious at times. Most attendees wanted to leave and go outside during past meets if the weather cooperated. And most did so quickly.

Of course I always love viewing the photos of the Group Meets on the Atrium staircase. Always wanted on of those. Never participated, nor, received one. :sad2:
Not sure how that works, especially embark day at 3pm.
I have a suspicion these photos must be created at 12:01am or something. :lmao: I have seen photos with 120 pax min. assembled for their DisMeet photo on and around the staircase. :confused3

I would love to know when these images are captured, without others interrupting. Perhaps it is coordinated with the staff?
Are others interested in this photo? Obviously this is potentially the most difficult to coordinate. Perhaps not.

Here I'll try; Let's all show up, including all kids, 9pm atrium, 1st sea day, surround / block staircase, have someone take a few photos with multiple cameras, done. So ... 15 - 25 minutes of you time. Priceless, IMO. :)

OK, obviously this can't interfere with scheduled activities in the atrium.
Alright, ... maybe this is set up / scheduled with crew aboard.

I still like this idea. Especially as this will likely be our last DCL.

Point is, this would be cool to have/participate in. Anyone have experience with this mass group photo event with the whole group on the atrium staircase?

Thanks for listening. That's my 2 cents for tonight regarding the Dismeet Aboard.

:)

Thanks you all. Very excited!!!!! Mommom's real name is :"kay" short for Katherine. We will be on level 8. Looking forward to meeting all

Love the staircase idea!!! I've never been or participated either, but I will have been on one Aug 30th and they are planning a meet and pic too. I'll have to ask over there what they do and where they suggest.

9pm, I think they are still doing formal pics (first sea day is formal night) so it might have to be right when pictures first start to open (4:30-5pm?)

Corey seems to call DCL regularly, maybe she can ask when they start setting up for formal stairwell pics. (I don't call often, but I can call. Better to call now than after the rest of 2015 dates are released ;) )

Why might this be your last DCL?

Welcome to the Disboards :cool1:

and our awesome Cruise Meet.

Just a reminder to all here.
Only share info you are comfortable with BTW, regardless of whom may ask.
It's your choice.

That was somewhat tongue and cheek fwiw. I forgot the emoticon that may have indicated such. My bad.
I was just testing to see if anyone was paying attention, IYKWIM.

Corey seems to call DCL regularly...
Somehow I'm not surprised. lol. No offense corey. :)

I don't call often, but I can call.
You better not call. Neither of you could keep all you sailings separate, and odds are DCL would screw something up. Don't risk it, IMO, Lol. You are not allowed to call. You don't pay them enough monthly. :lmao:

Better to call now than after the rest of 2015 dates are released
You do have a point, but when will the dates be released? No one knows. Yet point valid. You don't want to be trying to call DCL to make changes or add OBC, when the rest of 2015 dates are released. You will be on hold for hours or days.

Why might this be your last DCL?
DCL prices are insane. Kids are older. Change is good. Lots of new ships coming out. :cool1: Need new itineraries. I actually want to sail other lines, Variety is the spice of life, Shall I continue, ... Oh wait, ...one more, .... We may run into to you aboard again lol. :scared1: :rotfl2:

I thought the same thing. Great mind think alike (and ours do too!) :lmao:
