MINNIE MAD MUM is running the FE. The group as a whole has decided to split the groups. Here is the explanation:

The best way to split the current 40 cabins registered is to divide up by decks,
Group 1 (MINNIE) will be decks 2, 5, 6, 7 a total of 23 cabins/85 people

Group 2 (MICKEY) will be decks 8, 9, 10, 12 a total of 23 cabins/86 people in order to keep the groups balanced, this group includes the two gty rooms (which could be anywhere on the ship)
please note: there are 23 cabins in each group as 6 cabins have expressed a wish to deliver to everyone on the list
A third group (DONALD) will now be started for anyone who joins after today 24/April/2014,

The FE will officially close on the paid in full date August 11th 2014. However we will run a late comers group should it be required.
If you havent signed up yet but would now like to, please pm me either here on the dis or on fb, thank you

OFFICIAL Trick-or-Treating SIGNUP time!
Please provide the following for each Trick-or-Treater in your family:
1) Stateroom #
2) First/Last Name
3) Age
4) Sex
5) Favorite Fab 5 Character
6) Food Allergies (if any)

***PM all information to Maggie Bottom on Facebook or Travoria on DIS***

DEADLINE for signup is Friday, August 1st. Signup is required to participate. We don't want any little goblin left out so signup now while it's on your mind. Post requesting volunteers and donations will be coming.

Trick-or-Treat will be held on our Day At Sea on Thursday, October 30.

REQUEST - Trick-or-Treat Public Area Station Locations: If you have cruised on the Fantasy and have a specific public area location to recommend please PM Maggie Bottom Facebook or DIS Travoria. When recommending location keep in mind:
1) 10-20 children/adults in that area at once
2) Is it a high traffic area?
3) Need 8-10 locations
4) Is there a seating accommodation for station attendants?
5) Times will probably be between 10-11:30am (subject to change but shooting for between breakfast & lunch sugar high)
6) PLEASE do not post here as a comment. Want to keep this as much as a surprise as possible for everyone...even adults!
7) Submit suggestions by July 1st as a fellow cruise mate will be on the Fantasy in August and she's going to walk the route we establish for any issues.

REQUEST - Trick-or-Treat Helpers Signup time!

Our ToT event will be held on our Day at Sea on Thursday, October 30. Tentatively this is planned to take place starting at 10:00am. I hope that gives everyone enough "sleep-in" time. :good vibes

Planning on treats for 100 participants! 10 stations!

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
1) Sign-up to donate candy! Estimating about 30-40 fun size assorted bags of candy will be needed. This # may increase/decrease based on registration.

2) Sign-up to donate "non-candy" treats! Some of our trick-or-treaters have food allergies and all kids like the unexpected treat. Estimating (500 pieces or 5/participant). Many sites like www.orientaltrading.com, party stores, $1 stores, etc. I'm sure you know more then me!

3) Sign-up to run a station! 2 people per station would be great! You will need to come to my stateroom 30min prior to start time to get your treats and head to reserve your station spot. I will have all the materials, treats and information you need. I would also like for you each to wear your cruise logo tshirt so you are easy for the participants to identify. (No taking candy from a stranger.) We will have kids take off on their own. Think "Amazing Race" meets Disney cruise.

4) Sign-up to be a crafter! This is where I need some crafty people. I would like to brainstorm with you on ideas for a "final station" Halloween treat based on the FAB 5 characters the participants have given me. Our final station will be the same for EVERYONE! This way we will get to see all of their excitement over their lot, parents can have a meeting spot to find kids and we can maybe even get a group picture (wishful thinking, but we can try).

5) Sign-up to be a $$ donor. If your suitcases are already going to be full and none of the other ideas trip your trigger then any and all $ donations are appreciated. I won't specify an amount as you are not obligated to do this at all. ANY overage not used for ToT will be given to our "Meet & Greet". I will establish a PayPal account and post that later. For now you can just tell me you are a $Donator.

PLEASE send PM to Maggie Bottom on Facebook or PM Travoria on DISboards.
Provide the following:
1) First/Last Name
2) Stateroom
3) What you want to help with
4) Favorite Fab 5 character

GROUP TSHIRT

The design of this years group cruise shirt is being decided as a group. This tshirt wil be worn on boarding day and during the trick or treat event.

I think it's fair to open up the designing of said tshirt to everyone in the group. The plan is to put any designs submitted as a poll so fellow cruisers can vote for their favorite design. Designers will remain anonymous at the voting stage but will be revealed when announcing the chosen design. If you would like to have a go at designing a tshirt, please pm me your design by the 10th May 2014 may, so I may prepare the poll. The poll will be posted here and on Facebook, everyone will have 1vote each.
Please ensure tshirt designs are child friendly and no impending design is displayed on Facebook or disboards prior to the poll.

Hello everyone, my name is Sarah Lane, I am one of the moderators on the Facebook page.
I am organising the Fish Extenders Exchange (FE) and the Roaming Mickey (RM)
FE
The FE is a gift exchange between cruisers. Gifts are usually but not always , cruise/nautical, Disney or State/Hometown related. Gifts can be given individually to each person in a cabin or as a cabin gift. You may be exchanging with every cabin on the list or you may be put into a group of 20 cabins (this hasn't been decided yet). When you deliver is entirely up to you.

If you would like to take part in the FE please pm me your stateroom number, cruisers names, ages and gender, favorite characters and details of any allergies or special occasions being celebrated on board the ship during the cruise.

RM
This is a magnet detains cruise destinations and dates, a list will be distributed of participating cabins. The RM should go full circle and end up where it started. The RM will be passed from stateroom to stateroom, you will only be required to write your stateroom number on it and sign your family name or Dis Name then pass it along to the next cabin.
Upon returning home from the cruise, a copy of the RM will be emailed to everyone who participated as souvenir of the cruise

If you would like to be part of the FE or Roaming mickey please send me a pm with your details
Thank you Sarah

Thanks for the updates

I went back and forth, but I think listening to the group, this seemed like the most simple way to get all of the information on the first page. The links help because they are posted on both FB and DIS for everyone to be able to click and have access.

I am excited to be part of this cruise and the meet!!

I am too :) As some of the people on FB mentioned last night. The word of the cruise should be Ohana. No one gets left behind ;)

Great!!

Thank you guys :-D :thumbsup2

P.s Is it possible for a link to be put to this new thread, as a last post on the old thread, and then the old thread to be locked to new posts, so no-one misses us?? Not sure if this is something Ron can do (i.e lock down that thread) or whether IrishCowboy can assist :-)

This is going to be an amazing cruise :cool1:

SQEEEEEEEAAAAALLLLLL…it totally is! My children (DS/14, DD/12) keep looking over my shoulder at what I'm doing and I have to bat them away. :scared: They're going to ruin all the surprises for themselves.

Yes thank you. I did put this into irish cowboy and I will ask Ron to put a link on his first post and put a link on the last page as well. I'm on my phone because I'm at soccer training with my son. It's about an hour drive each way but I'll be home later in the day. This is everyone's cruise, so if you are in a better position please feel free to take the reins and post the link in the other thread. :) Travoria brought the same request up on FB and I agree we absolutely need to do both. Having the other thread locked is brilliant. I did not think of that at all. Awesome idea and I will message IrishCowboy as well about locking it. Thank you for thinking of it. :thumbsup2

I have a 12yo DD and a 14yo DS as well.

Okay silly question but with the cruise being over Halloween, I know there will be Halloween festivities on the ship, but will we also have pirate night?

Halloween movie marathon to get you in the spirit, shown on Funnel Vision and on the dedicated in-room television channel
Halloween Isn't Just for Kids—an adults-only party that includes a costume contest
And more spooky surprises await you onboard!

With so much to see and do, you won't want to miss this Halloween celebration at sea, Be sure to pack your favorite costumes and get ready for happy haunts.

:cool1:

Definitely a lot of outfits to pack for this trip. We were not going to do formal night until the kids friends said they were dressing up. Pirate night as well, my kids never bothered until their new friends mentioned they like it :)

Come to think of it, the kids thread has me packing a lot more. :rotfl2: I'm still really glad they are able to get to know each other. :goodvibes

Hello everyone, reintroducing myself, I'm sarah, I am one of the moderators on the Facebook page. I'm travelling with my 23 yr old daughter Tianne (tink243) and my 14yr old son Jacob. We are from the United Kingdom.
This will be our second cruise, we always thought our first cruise on the Disney Dream in August 2012 would be a once in a lifetime trip, but we fell in love with Disney cruising and here we are again.
During our first trip we encountered rough seas and were not allowed out on deck on our 1 sea day, so didn't feel we explored the ship enough either.

We are looking forward to sailing the Western Caribbean, we've never been to Jamaica or Mexico. Jacob is looking forward to being in Vibe this year. Tianne and I are looking forward to celebrating halloween on the ship. Halloween on the high seas looks so much fun, we can't wait. What are you most looking forward too?

Pre cruise we are staying in a hotel on International Drive for two nights and going to the Mickey Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom on Friday night.
