The neck wallet is nice and so are lanyards. I would be willing to pay $ 5.00 for something that would identify our group.Do you think you will be able to get enough people so that the order is big enough. We would take 2 of whatever. Thanks for looking into it for us.
On another note... another weekend down.

good morning,
I know I'm planning on ordering at least 3, One for me and each of the girls to carrie their KTTW.
have a great day

BigBen,

I FINALLY saw the first promo for the Fat March. I was so excited!!! I can't wait to watch it next week.

Michelle

...Guess it's time to remove my med cruise countdown! :sad1:

Michelle - Its too weird to myself on TV. It should be a good show.

I also like the idea of the neck wallet or lanyard. We'd probably order at least 2 - last time we went, the kids were always with us so didn't need to carry their own cards, but we may have to rethink that with them being 11 & 9 next time! If they do end up carrying their own cards, we'd need 4.

Our two didn't get into pin trading at all last time, but friends of theirs went to WDW last month and got caught up in it right away - so I have a funny feeling pin trading may be a part of our next cruise. Was looking at the navigators that Virginia posted on the website, and noticed that there was a special pin for Halloween that year - hope they do that again - it might not be only the boys who get into pin trading, but mom too!

I wanted to share this tip that I learned about here on the DIS.

For my last cruise I purchased for my 5 yr old and 3 yr old these pirate costumes from Little Tykes. I purchased the black and red ones for both girls. They are very cheap and looked cute on the kids on pirate night. Probably only good up until 6 years old though. My 5 year old who is tall for her age and average weight fit into it just fine but didn't have much room to grow. While my very petite 3 year old had tons of room.

http://www.littletikes.com/toys/toys-list.aspx?FS=1&N=26&Ntk=Product+Search&Nty=1&Ntt=pirate costume

My 2 youngest will most likely wear the same on this next cruise.

I wanted to share for those that may have missed it and have littler ones that may want to dress up on pirate night.

Wow! I did not realize it has been forever since I have posted anything. I have been reading and keeping up with this thread though. I guess I have been busy planning other trips and this one seems so far away still. We had a wonderful trip to Disney's HHI resort in June. Now I am planning an October visit to BCV and BWV and MNSSHP!

Virginia, I sent you a PM. I can't wait to see the website!

Not been on here for a while so thought I'd just say Hi!!
Looking forward to getting a look at the new web site if I can please?!!
Time is passing but very slowly.......Just cant wait till next year!!:hourglass

I was the 13th poster about joining you all on this wonderful cruise. I booked it waaay back in February and was keeping it as a surprise for DH. I was going to save it for his birthday in November. Well, it is 99.999% likely that I will have to cancel the cruise :( :(. I have been an Accountant at a large multi-specialty medical clinic for over 21 years. We are in a joint venture with another large medical group and are building a hospital here in town. Everyone was very hedgy about job security from the get go, but I have had a very bad feeling for ~ a year. We were promised that "your jobs are safe" late last year. Well, in late May we found out that as of 12/31/08 our department along with Finance would "no longer be needed". There "may" be a few jobs in Indy (an hour drive each way, no thanks :(). I feel like I have been kicked in the teeth and have been given a death sentence. There is a financial incentive to stay till the end, but I don't know if I can take the stress and incredibly low morale. I am the primary $$ earner in the family, along with being the one responsible for all benefits (i.e. insurance coverage) due to DH being self-employed. I LOVE WDW and usually visit 2 or 3 times a year. I am going with 2 friends in ~ 6 weeks (thank goodnes it's a cheap trip with free dining) and I know that the last day there will be one of the saddest of my life, since I don't know when I can return. Unless something drastically changes, I will have to cancel this cruise, which I was sooo looking forward to. The real kicker is I have one of the coveted secret port hole rooms :(. Please send a little pixie dust my way, if you can. Thanks

I'm sorry to hear about the downsizing.I would hold off canceling, when one door closes another one opens. Enjoy you trip to WDW. sending pixie dust your way.

Virginia

Dznyacct,

I would also wait since you have until around August to cancel. I was just in a similar situation. It seemed that our company was poising itself to be sold, but they kept telling us that it was rumors and would never do that. Last October a week after I was promoted, we were bought by a larger company. There was also a severence package incentive for those who stayed. I stayed the entire time (through end of March). The morale was horrible, but we tried to make the best of it. I started working again in early May even though I had planned on taking the summer off. I hope that you have the same luck and find something right away. Lots of pixie dust going your way! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

dznyacct, Pixie Dust coming your way. I think you should hold off cancelling. Something better might come along. Our hospital is "going Lean" and it is not pretty . I am sticking it out for now but morale is the lowest I have seen in the 13 years I have worked there. They have cut most of the benefits and incentives. They are cutting staffing and hours. I hate to start over elsewhere right now so I am biting the bullet. My new mantra is Better days are coming. Say it with me... Better days are coming...Better days are coming.... If that does not work, go for a big chocolate sundae.:)

I know that I have plenty of time before I have to cancel, but just thinking about that possibility is really sad. I always say that WDW is my "therapy", that it recharges my spirit when I go there. I usually have a trip or two in the works so leaving WDW to go home isn't so hard. It will be different in September :(. I am a self admitted worrier and my job situation is the most stressful thing I have ever experienced. I worry that I may have to take a sizeable pay cut (my old boss was wonderful about fighting for equitable pay for her female staff) and the thought of possibly having to sell the dream home that my husband built 4 years ago, brings tears to my eyes. If I stick it out, DS will be in the middle of his freshman year of college at Purdue, so of course I worry about those expenses on top of everything else (although his current tuition for the Catholic High School he attends is only $2000/year less than Purdue) . One saving grace is that he plans on living at home for at least a few years (Purdue is ~ 10 minutes from our house, thankfully :)). I keep telling myself that God has some plan for me, but I sure wish he would let me know what it is :). I don't think he has my cell phone number. Thanks for your positive thoughts (especially from shrpgrl, a fellow Hoosier :)).

dznyacct, Keep up the faith, something better might come around. My husband and I both have recently gone through this same situation and we have found equal to or better jobs in the process. My job is better, (much much better). His is equal. I understand the feeling of disappointment though. I have been through this a couple times. Keep your reservations for our cruise as long as you can. You will might be able to get you some lemonaide out of these lemons life has thrown you. :flower3: Sending you my prayers and best wishes---Angie

Hello, we just booked this cruise for the Halloween fun!!.. We are DH, DW and just our two DD's (will be 10 & 4) by cruise time. DS will be in college.

We were on the 11 night Southern Caribbean cruise last year and it was amazing. i think there was something like 300+ DISers on that cruise. So many people joined in and contributed. I know what yo mean about the "green" ....the Dis green Bubba Mugs were like the holy grail. Some people made lanyards, others designed shirts, also Fish extenders which you would hang outside your door...people would put all sorts of goodies in them., they did a mouse adventure on the high seas..it was so much fun.

Our last cruise we met at the promenade lounge and also had the wrist bands ( which I really loved!!!) Our Dis group was huge and I thought the lime green wrist band really helped. They really made it easy to identify each other.
shrpgrl
We live in Fla (30 mins from disney).. The winters a HEAVEN but summers can be h--l. The weather forcast is always the same durning the summer 91 and rain!! But the winter months and Mickey make it all worth while.

I think that's a record!

Woody

ummm, you might have some competition...

that's 13 + carry'ons!!!!!! :scared1:

Here's some costa maya info I found on the web:

http://www.puertocostamaya.com/
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr7-port-CostaMaya.cfm

The second link has the excursions for Costa Maya.
My nephews will be 7, 7 & 4 ...not sure if we will all be doing excursions or not. I've been to Cozumel twice, and never set foot on the island. I may be wrong, but there is not really anything there that interests me. We take that as our time to have the ship to ourselves! We did do Tulum once from Playa del Carmen, which was nice. Maybe well do some other ruins. We're on this trip specifically for the double beach days at CC, so beach excursions are out.

I will post this excursions for Costa Maya website to our private page

Hello all,

We just signed up for this date. Our going depends on the school keeping Halloween week the fall break for 2008 as is scheduled for 2007. I think DH reserved cabin 6610, early seating. We just got off the Feb24-Mar 3 Western Magic, our second Western. We have done two Easterns. It will be me, DH, and DS 12 then and DS 15 then. We were on one of the first Westerns that skipped Cayman due to the storm damage. One of the cruisers found these guys:

http://www.chacchobenruins.com/default.html

We took the tour to Chaccoben with Ivan and it was really amazing. I would have no reservations in suggesting anyone interested in doing the ruins to check them out. We were devastated at first that we would miss Stingray City in Grand Cayman (which we did see this time) but Ivan more than assuaged our sorrow!

Carla

I will also post to our website. thank you

Hi everyone!

We're getting quite a group together!

Which brings me to this...

I spoke to someone at DCL today who gave me the info on reserving the private dining room at PALO.

I think it seats 12-20? Adults only.

The problem is figuring out when.

Pirate Night for that cruise hasn't been determined yet.

Should we book it for brunch instead of dinner?

Would that work better for everyone?

Brunch on a sea day?

Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and giant prawns??

Let's just go now, ok?

Anyway, I'm all ears (well, not really).

Just let mw know what you all would like to do.

My DD will turn 10 on October 28th while on the cruise, DS will be 12 (and he already thinks he's a teenager at 11)

I had sent you a PM regarding Palo ressi. If you need help let me know. Since Halloween is on friday, I would think Pirate night would be tue, wed, thur. but you never know. virginia

I am putting together a spreadsheet (mini Navigator) for Halloween. I was reading on another Halloween cruise where they had little ghost and goblins go around to the cabins trick or treating. If this is something that is of interest ,let me know.

We'll I cant beleive it,I just talked my DH into another cruise, so we are heading to the mousefest Dec 2-6 4 day wonder, and our very first trip to WDW after the cruise. :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Aneille....which Cat 3 did you get?? We have been allocated 8102, which appears to be a 'wheelchair accessible' stateroom. As none of us is disabled I was a little suprised at this, but Disney says that the only difference is in the size of the bathrooms and veranda. This will be our first cruise so I didn't really know whether it was worth requesting a different stateroom or not??

Ulittletinker...We've had a look at the website and all think it's great. DD14 is interested in joining the kids webpage. Will pm her details to you.

We have just had a visit from my DB Darren (40 atoc) who has now decided he would like to come with us on this cruise :yay: :yay: :yay: .....could he please be added to the rollcall, thanks :thumbsup2
