Helen - Our cat 3 room is 8582. I have never stayed in a HA room on the ship. This is only our second cruise. I was reading up on Cat 3 rooms yesterday and I read that the HA rooms have engine noise. And there was something else about the verandah that was a negative. I read that on CruiseCritic. I don't have any personal experience.

My last cruise we stayed in cat 3 room 8086 which is on the port side, in the aft. We liked it but again we have nothing to compare it to.

When I called yesterday they did have 2 other Cat 3's available besides the one we took. 8546 and 8086 were also available if you decide to switch.

Hopefully someone who has stayed there will comment. There were pics of HA cat 3 on the stateroom picture thread I think too. I was looking for pics of 8582 and came across it.

Aneille....which Cat 3 did you get?? We have been allocated 8102, which appears to be a 'wheelchair accessible' stateroom. As none of us is disabled I was a little suprised at this, but Disney says that the only difference is in the size of the bathrooms and veranda. This will be our first cruise so I didn't really know whether it was worth requesting a different stateroom or not??

Ulittletinker...We've had a look at the website and all think it's great. DD14 is interested in joining the kids webpage. Will pm her details to you.

We have just had a visit from my DB Darren (40 atoc) who has now decided he would like to come with us on this cruise :yay: :yay: :yay: .....could he please be added to the rollcall, thanks :thumbsup2

here is what someone wrote about cabin 8102 in '05

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomreport.cfm?Room=8102

Notes: Great access to Topsiders and pools. The verandah was big enough -true, there is no privacy-just smile at the people admiring YOUR deck. It got wet when they washed down Topsiders (no big deal). There is BIG shaking when coming into port from the thrusters. NO WAY to sleep thru it. Great view though. Best on board of Castaway Cay I imagine. When the couch-bed was pulled out, there was no way to get out to the veranah except to go thru the bedroom. Don't care for the layout of this Cat.3. When you shower the floors are soaked even with towels down (handicapped suite so needs room for wheelchair). Just leaves a mess. But it's a Cat.3 and the perks are great!

We're only in a Cat 11 but at least we're there!!LOL!!
I just book a Mousefest cruise for dec, cat 9, I just want to see what it like. Our first cruise we had a Verandah and I love it. I did book a Verandah for the halloween cruise.:sail: :earsgirl:

Your right, at least your there.:dance3: :dance3:

We were in 8602 on our last cruise, which is identical to 8102, and it was such a great room that we reserved it again. It is w/c accessible, and has a huge verandah. We had a DISboard party on our verandah and we had over *40* people out there and STILL had plenty of room. It is unbelievably huge.

Some of the websites mention engine noise and the sound of thrusters, but we never heard them. We felt thrusters on one morning, but we didn't think they were that bad. The verandah more than makes up for it. The shower was a minor inconvenience. Since these suites are w/c accessible, they don't have bathtubs. The roll-in showers don't have any way to keep the water inside, so it does get all over. Our stateroom attendant was terrific, and just created dam structures with towels and that fixed the problem. But the verandah... well, you're gonna love it.

Hope that helps,
Sue

Question/Poll I know on some cruises, they have had lanyards and other items to mark the special cruise. We'll I thought is would be nice to have something. I searched and came up with a neck wallet, in lime green. So what’s your thought? Standard Lanyard, or neck wallet (see pics on tips/links on our webpage.) Virginia

I like the idea of a green DISidentifier. We had armbands on our last cruise, and it was great to walk in on Day 1 and be able to identify each other! Lanyards and neck wallets might also be great, but armbands are also cool; esp for those of us that don't like to hang things around our necks. Reminds me too much of work; I wanna get away from having to wear a lanyard :)

We're looking forward to the cruise. Virginia, the website is very cool!

I also really like the green wrist bands. They were really easy and I think they were around a $1 ea.

We watched fat march last night and will be tunning in weekly. You seem to be the easy going one of the bunch. No complaining from you. It must have been a huge committment !!!

Michelle,
I tried to be as laid back as I could be, and I didn't do alot of complaining. Some of them just wouldn't stop.

As we dont get fat March here in UK...what is it??
I'm intrigued now!:happytv:

Rylisal - It's a reality show. In the UK you had a show call "To Big To Walk". This is produced by the same company. We walked from Boston to Washington DC a total of 575 miles. If you go to abc.com you can find us there under shows.

HI

I am from the UK, desperately waiting for an email from the TA to see if we are able to book this cruise. It will be our first ever Disney cruise and I am unbelievably excited. I don't think I can cope with the anticipation! I won't introduce myself and my family until I know for definite if we will be able to book! I am having problems typing with all my fingers crossed but hopefully I will be posting on this thread again very soon!

Hi Everyone!
Couldn't sleep tonight, it's 3 am so I thought I would check the boards;)
We are in 8534, last year we were in the room across the hall.
I can tell you an amazing story of what concierge did for our family last year. It was part of a year of a million dreams~~
My three yr. old who has Autism couldn't stand in line long enough for us to have a picture on the ship but was doing so well in the club.
We'll concierge called to ask how everything was going and how the kids were enjoying their trip..I replied great! "I just wish I could get a picture of my little one with one of the characters.."The next day the concierge team had come to our room with a personalized invitation for him which read "Meet us at Studio Sea at 10:00 pm, make sure to bring your camera.
My husband picked our DS up from the club sleeping, carried him to Studio Sea, when I arrived with the video camera he was being awoken by Peter Pan, they had arranged a private meet and great with 25 characters with Mickey and Minnie leading the party. He danced and sang and I cried through it all. I'll never forget that moment, it truly was a dream..Just had to share. That's what Concierge sometimes does for families. I never thought twice when I said "I just wish":wizard:
Can't wait to meet everyone, our room is open for a meet too!:cool1:

Thanks to all those who have sent me good wishes - I should have this booking confirmed by this evening, I am just waiting for some info re. the staterooms. We will be having inside staterooms as I need to book 2, and it just makes things a bit cheaper. I don't suppose I will be in the room long enough to look out a of a window (sorry port-hole), unless I am asleep, so I am sure it won't matter too much. If it was just DH and myself I would opt for a balcony, but with 4 teenagers in tow it would be far too crowded!

What a great story. My DD is disabled and DCL has been wonderful. Last trip we traveled with 2 other families who also has special needs childern and we were invited to meet the characters before the "untill we meet again party" It was a truely magical moment!!!!

You're on!!! :scratchin  If we could comandeer the small public deck that's between our verandas, we could take over the entire back end of deck 8. This could be some party

Party...did someone say Party? :woohoo:
Where and when? we will be there. And thanks for doing that.
