Hi everyone!

Congrats on the double digits! I still have 109 days left sooo close! funny it seems so close when you talk in days not months :cool1: :woohoo: :yay:

Amy ~~way to go on the cards:thumbsup2 Great job! By the way I found your Madonna halloween costume :smooth: I saved the site to post on chat.

Suzie~~ love the family photo! you have a really cute family!:cutie:

Valerie don't you mean chat thursday? Is it just your time zone or being cooped up in the igloo for too long?:surfweb:

Talk soon,

Dana

Dana, I think Valerie is trying for an additional night of chat since that camping trip! LOL!:lmao: Gotta get her chat fix!

Suzie I have added you to our Dis Family Photo album Here

Love the T shirts
wasn't to sure if your friends are cruising or not so if you want them added just ask

Oh, Jackie! No, these were just our best friends that we were at WDW with in June. Tori and Ashley have the exact same birthday just five years apart! How funny is that?!

Thanks for adding us.

LATEST CHAT UPDATE..........

As usual, the Diehard Chatters were on last night and in full planning mode. We tried to volunteer various people for this job, but I was the lucky one to get suckered - ah, I mean - honored with the task.

A while back we tossed out the idea of a PHOTO OPwith Shutters for our DIS group. When we asked some questions, we learned that this can't be arranged until we get on board. So the plan is, I will contact DCL to see if we can get this arranged ahead of time. (If this works, we will just post the info on here, and won't need most of the other steps I've got outlined below.) If not, I am also the one who will approach Shutters as soon as possible when I board, about setting this up - and we'll have to proceed with the rest....

So here's what I need from you fine cruisers!!....

1. If you are interested in taking part in this photo, please post - with your cabin number if you know it, and number of people in your party who will be in the photo - I'll keep the list updated. We will still deliver notices to any other cabin number we have, even if you haven't signed up, but we need an idea of numbers to determine the best space to arrange this - we'll need more room for 200 people vs. 50, for example.

2. I'll need dizney_cruiser (aka - Janice) to set up a link on the main page to this post please.

3. Amy has agreed (after much begging, pleading, and arm twisting) to do up cards that all we will need to do is add the date/place/time when we get it.

Here's where we will need volunteers
....we will need about 10 people to help add in the details and deliver notices to the cabins - the more volunteers, the less writing and delivering the rest of us will have to do!!

4. If we could get someone else to volunteer to do up a sign that we could have in our pic, it would be great - our logo (or just the Halloween on The High Seas title) and dates, for example. We're looking at either getting this done on Castaway Cay on our second day, or maybe around 10:00 a.m. on our Grand Cayman day when most people will be waiting to disembark. We're going to see where/when Shutters would recommend, but feedback from all of you would be great!

Clear as mud everyone??

Oh, and...THE CRUISE IS GETTING CLOSER!! THE CRUISE IS GETTING CLOSER!!

:cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :jumping1:

Just back from visiting the parents in the Finger Lakes for the long weekend. Much laundry, and house painting starts tomorrow. Got to see the Indy Car Series races at Watkins Glen this past weekend. First time seeing them for Chris. Since it is a 5 hour drive one-way, we got a lot of WDW/DCL talking done. The WDW travel book helps us to pass the time. For the cruise, I think we've got our plans, but will review them tonight. Had some group ideas, but must review the notes...back in a while. (at least I'm off until Monday, DW must return to work tomorrow).

As for my little "tomorrow night is chat night" mix up - chaulk it up to wishful thinking!! :rotfl: Actually, the igloo has melted because we finally have SUMMER - it's been high 20's here all week - high 80's for those of you in the States! Great weather for us. But I've been fooled up all week - last week had a holiday for us on Tuesday for Canada Day, and I took Monday off as well, so gave myself a long weekend. But it's thrown me off all this week, thinking it's always the next day. Disappointing to realize tomorrow is still only Thursday, not Friday - which also means no chat tonight :sad1: Scarey part is, we might be going camping again this weekend - don't know if I'll survive missing 2 Saturday night chats in a row!

Valerie

Hey everyone - I'm wondering if anyone has ever considered getting a beach tent to take to the various beaches - especially those of us who have done the excursions and just plan on visiting the beaches. Something that sticks in the sand and just shades us from the sun's rays...

I'm seriously considering bringing a foldup one.

The only drawback (besides carrying it) would be making sure that we get one that won't blow away, and putting it in a spot that doesn't obstruct everyone's view...

Any thoughts? Let the opinions begin!

VALERIE! put me on the list, duh! didnt we concoct this whole thing?
Mommy2777 (4) voluntering oh and making the cards! hehehe

One item we discussed on the trip North:
The group photo on CC:
I recall that the phones on the ship have voicemail. Perhaps quick calls could be made, instead of the cards. Don't mind the cards, just trying to save people time. Or...I recall getting voicemail from DCL last cruise: DVC (oops, didn't do it, cancelled the purchase) and Castaway Club member reception. Anyway, I wonder if guest services could deliver a canned comment (when, where, etc) to a provided list of staterooms voicemails?

Thoughts?

Okay Amy - got you added - but don't have your cabin #. Just wanted to make you sweat ;) ! Hear you've got the cards done up - excellent! And here you were all in a tizzy about it. We knew you could do it!

Just saw your post Sean - great idea...after Amy has the cards prepared ! Do you already have cards printed Amy, or just a mock up on the computer? I had considered the phone calls, but thought in some ways that would be harder to arrange last minute - but duh the phone numbers would be the same as the cabin numbers, wouldn't it? What do people think?

Valerie

Valerie - To make a link to a post what I do is click on the number at the top right of the post you want to link to - that will bring up the post - then copy and paste the link in the URL box at the top of the page into your signature. I have linked to post 6 in my signature by doing this - so it should work for you!

We are having a really really wet July and apparently yesterday the Uk had a month's rainfall in 24 hours - very depressing! As soon as I start talking about camping and BBQ then the bad weather arrives. We could count the days when the temperature has exceeded 20 degrees this year on one hand - it's very depressing!:sad2:

The good thing is - we at least have some good weather to look forward to in October!:yay:

On the cruise preparation front - I am determined to try and finish my fish extenders this week, so that I can start to concentrate on the pirate costumes - I keep telling myself that time is slipping away and I do not want a last minute panic!

Is anyone on here going to be writing a trip report - I thought I would give it a go (although where I will find the time on top of everything else I just don't know). I really enjoy reading everyone else's trip reports on the DIS and I thought it would be a good way to capture the magic of the whole experience for us:goodvibes .

I would love to do a trip report but I just dont have it in me.:rotfl: After reading some of the ones on here I just know I could never do one that compared to it. If you decide to do one please let us know, I would love to read it! Some of them have some great and sometimes funny pics also, LOVE THAT!!!! :thumbsup2 :lmao: so i'm a little strange. what can I say?:rotfl2: :rotfl:

Its too early for me to start to function right, just not enough coffee.:surfweb: Have a super day everyone.

Will probably do a trip report. Thinking of starting it as a pre trip report.

We got the letter from DCL with the dates/locations of our stops last week. I recall that someone posted here about what the dress/menu was for each night. Was it the same as a normal Western? We were plotting dinners, etc. yesterday during the trip home.

Check out post 6 all the info is there :thumbsup2

:woohoo: we are 13 weeks until the start of our holiday:woohoo: Love when I get down to the weekly countdown :woohoo:

I'm so sorry I got lost on my way back to the chat last week.:lmao:

I had to go put the goats up and got my hands full.

Does anyone know who the cruise director is going to be on our cruise????

I'll try to get into the chat tonight but tonight my dh is home so it may not happen and Saturday we have a goat show.

C ya'll real soon!

Karen

Thanks Jackie! :thumbsup2

I see that Cozumel is listed as Wednesday in post 6, but the letter we got says we're at Grand CAyman that day. Suppose they'll change Pirate night?

Less than 48 hours until the games begin! Looking for brunch on Monday, dinner on Tuesday, Stingrays at CC on the first day, and Kayaking at CC on the 2nd stop. Come Saturday, I'll try to write down and post anything interesting I see, like available times, etc.
