October 25, 2008 Halloween on the High Seas (2)

Returning car to Budget around 10:00 - shuttle to PC, hope to be on by 11ish..;)
Were leaving next Thurs.eve via Southwest out of Philly..I HATE Flying:goodvibes Off to the pharmacy for my pill to get on the plane:scared1: I really am a big chicken, so once I'm off the plane the rest is cake, wish they had the DOTD on board......

I'm half packed
FE near completion
FE gifts done
No costumes yet.....:confused3

Well my mother and I shipped off our pirate costumes for Pirate Night and our Halloween Costumes.

We also shipped our glow sticks, TOT stuff, pumpkin lights, halloween door hangings and windew gel's.

Its official now, its CLOSE!!

OM Goodness! It's so exciting as people start to leave!

Sarah, I'm really proud of you getting your costumes done! I'm now down to me and the DH.

Anielle - WHERE AND HOW are you shipping to the ship? Did I miss that somewhere along the way? Can anyone advise?

I didn't wait for the response on OTC stuff (it's such a bummer being a West Coast night owl, no one awake to play with), went ahead and ordered it. Hopefully it will come by Friday so I can assemble everything!

Suzie-do we need to bring TOT candy and such? Sorry, I can't remember! Will check the first page for details. Anything like that I will have to buy on Fri night in town, I'm not carting 10 lbs of candy on an airplane.

I got a confirm from Moby Dick tours for Stingray City-Mark seems very nice-he said they are running a special time to accomodate the Magic's schedule. Is anyone else going with them? My girls are very nervous about the 'sting' part in stingray, but I'm trying to assure them it will be fine. The problem is, I find them a bit intimidating too! So I will have to be super double extra brave and plunge right into the water.

Well my wife and I packed the girls (ages 6 & 3) yesterday. Haloween costumes(check), Pirate costumes(check). We're so excited :goodvibes ,flying out the day before and staying at the Orlando airport.

This is our second Disney Cruise. I was debating wearing a Haloween costume, but it sounds like alot of adults plan on dressing up too.

Aneille just signed up on this we're from Mass. too

I am actually shipping to my WDW resort (Boardwalk Villa's). We arrive 3 days before we go on the cruise. If you are staying at any resort the day prior I am sure you could also ship down like that. I try to ship the packages so it arrives a few days prior to our check in date.

I have no idea if you can ship direct to the port.

Great, What's the dismeet? We live on Cape Cod. Should be really fun this trip, both girls will be old enough for the Oceaneers club.

Bill, welcome aboard!

The DisMeet is our meet each other face to face thing on the first day. Check out post 1 of this thread for all the details.

Dop back by and tell us a bit about yourselves so that we can get to know you better!

We're also staying at the MCO Hyatt on the 24th! Nice little group we're going to have staying there!:goodvibes

Today was Grandma's 90th birthday party and it was a blast! Those ladies are a hoot!!! It was a lot of hard work but so much fun and Mimi had such a great time! I finally got out from behind the camera to get a picture with her!!

Finally heard back from the hospital. Dad did NOT have a heart attack! His cardiac enzymes were elevated because of his COPD. Sadly, it means another stint in the hospital for a bit. My oldest brother will be on call while we're gone (do I need to tell him we're leaving??? Ick, that would mean I'd have to call him and talk to him.....) so if anything happens while we're gone....well, he'll just have to handle it!

Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers of all my friends and fellow chat buddies!!

This is from the DISBoard FAQ page:

Sending packages ahead of time to the ship:

PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!!

-ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.

-The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.

-The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.

-NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.

- The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:

IDS c/o (Ship Name) / Ground Services
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
9001 Marlin Street
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information:ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING

Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Friday for Saturday and Sunday sailings.

Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Wednesday for Thursday sailings.

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding.

These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Oh, I saw that and didn't know exactlly what it was. I didn't sign up or anything though. The calender I saw on the thread is helpful too.

Keri and I have been married for about nine years. We have two girls Kailey (6) and Alyssa (3) Alyssa will be four on Nov 5th. We have just fallen in love with everything Disney.

We have been alternating one WDW visit and one DCL each year. We're looking forward to everything this trip. We're leaving Grand Cayman open too as it dosen't look like we'll be there to long and will find some adult time there and Castaway Cay.

Can't wait to go and hopefully meet a few new freinds.

We need to return our rental car by 10:00 a.m. :scared1: So we will probably get to the rental agency a little before 10 and then take the shuttle on over... pirate:

We got your message but can't send a PM as we haven't posted enough. We live in Yarmouth and I work in Orleans. Can't wait for our cruise.

Bill, Keri, and the Girls

Bill, you only need 10 posts before you can pm and post pictures. So, post away! We all understand!:lmao:

Welcome Bill, Kerri and the girls!! Can't wait to meet you. How old are the girls. My DD is 7 and we are traveling with a family of 2 girls 5 and 7.

Spent the whole day working on FE's and door magnets!!I think I'm almost done:woohoo: :woohoo: I will ship them on Thursday. I have to work tomorrow, but only till 2pm DS is still medications, so he can't go to afterschool. ( the nurse has gone home for the day!) I did not want to call in sick b/c I'm only working 2 more days ( after tom) then off for 3 weeks. I felt guilty!! I was hoping to get some packing done this weekend, but I am going to a dear friends bachelorette party. On Saturday we have rented a limo to take 10-12 of us to the wineries out on Long Island. Hoping for a nice day!! DH will be home with the kids all day!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Lynne thank you for the shipping instructions. I was debating about shipping them, but Dh will not be happy if he finds out the bag he is lugging thru Orlando airport is full of magnets and FE gift's!!! I could pretend not to know!!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Well I'm getting the kids to bed early tonight!!

Suzie, Glad is was not a heart attack! That's relieves some of the stress. Hospital stays are very hard for the elderly regardless of the reason!! I hope all is better before you leave.

Did anyone book for 2010 today?

I did mine through a travel agent. I spent all morning checking my email to see if any information had come thru.;) I was also watching the DIS boards to see how everyone else was doing. :surfweb: It sounds like it was just as bad as the Panama Canal release!:scared1:

I was going to wait until onbord to get the discount. I priced it online and it was over $12000!!! So I am not too sure anymore!

I booked online this afternoon, so of course not as great a deal as if I had gone through an agency.

I reserved a cabin with my DN who'll be 17 at the time.

Scheduled for the Westbound Repo - looking to see if Jenn & Nelson are doing the same.

Couldn't wait until our cruise to book in case it sold out or prices really went up. Will still check for any onboard special and rebook if necessary.
