October 25, 2008 Halloween on the High Seas (2)

Today's QOTD:

Are you going to try a new food choice on the cruise or stick with old favorites? (ie: last cruise I tried escargot for the first time and realized I liked it!)

Yes! I always like to try new foods and this is the perfect place IMHO! If I don't like it, I can get a new dinner at no extra charge!!! Now, that's a PLUS IMHO!

We do the same thing.:thumbsup2 I tell my kids; "try anything you think you might like". If they end up not liking it, we can always ask for something we know they love. The cuise is they best place to do this! My oldest son try the escargot a few cruises back...I was completely shocked! My DD (14) loves sweets so she likes to get a different dessert every night. She also tries to get her little sister to get a 'different' dessert...so they can share.

Hi all,
Not to sure about trying food thats been in my vegie garden: snails etc.:rotfl2:, but will try anything that looks nice, most likely any of the food from dcl s menu:thumbsup2 I dont know about the rest of the dis board D.H.s.,but i for one just dont know how D.Ws.cope at this stage, the amount of organisation that goes into the holliday is unbelievable so this goes out to you all:flower3: my god is it this close?:scared1:
Andy

Thanks Andy - a little appreciation for all that we DWs do in preparation for the holiday goes a long way! But when we get on the cruise we will get to take it easy and the DHs can make it up to us by fetching and carrying the cocktails while we do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!:rotfl:

Now on to the question of the day:

As far as trying new foods - I am a little bit boring (to say the very least) on the food front, but if I am feeling really adventurous I may try lobster. Tony says that he may try scallops! The escargots will not be visiting our plates that's for sure, I am freaking out at the very thought of it. I am totally amazed by Tori eating all of that exotic stuff - my DD can just about manage chicken and then she dissects it like a world class surgeon!

O.K. folks... completely off-topic here... :offtopic: but I need to ask my online friends for their thoughts, prayers, and good wishes this afternoon... A little :wizard: pixiedust: probably wouldn't hurt either....
I have to follow-up with the baby doctor this afternoon (after my round of horrible :headache: tests last week) and am hoping for a simple solution to my non-responsive ovaries.... Hopefully just a prescription will do the trick and I can take care of this little "childless" problem on the ship pirate: next month...

TIA! :worship:

Simple would be wonderful. If only the same set of words could be used 9 months apart. "Give me the darn drugs!" LOL.

And I will use these    as comic relief if I end up staring at the ceiling again! :headache:

There were no blockages in my F tubes, but something amiss at the top of my uterus. I may have a form of endometrosis (sp?) called admeniosis (sp?).  :sad2:

I will have to have an MRI in the next couple weeks. I have another followup the morning before we leave for Florida (10/23)...

I am going to NEED this vacation!

Hey Everybody!

I made up some labels for mousekeeping.... If anyone needs them for a trip to WDW (or even for your stateroom attendant), let me know.... I have them in PDF, Publisher, and JPEG formats.

I cannot take credit for the designs. They came from the genius' over on the DISigns board. I just made them the size of Shipping Labels, Avery 8164 and put them all in one spot.

Here is what they look like:

Keepin busy!

Hey Everybody!

I made up some labels for room service.... If anyone needs them let me know.... I have them in PDF, Publisher, and JPEG formats.

These I did make with some blank artwork I found over on the DISigns board. They are not too creative, but do the job, I think. They are printable on Shipping Labels, Avery 8164.

Here is what they look like:

First off, jenn - glad to hear your tubes are clear - that's one hurdle! - so hopefully your next round of tests will provide answers for the other stuff! Isn't it fun being female? The indignities we don't go through :lmao:! But hopefully it will be all worth it in the end!!:flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Secondly - great job on the designs! You obviously great at channelling stress into creativity!

Third - thanks for all the lovely comments on my Fish Extender. The biggest challenge was personalizing it without the proper computer programs, and then getting the designs on without scorching them. It didn't help that the first time I put the pockets on, I put one on severly squish! But the instructions on page 1 are super easy to follow - if I can do it, anyone can :rotfl:

And for the question of the day... I can be an adventurous eater, but do tend to stick to the fish dishes because I love fish! Will have to try a few new things this time. The kids can also be pretty good at trying new things - but then again, DS9 did eat nothing but caesar salad for three nights last time!

Valerie

Jen,

Those are so cute! :thumbsup2 What a great idea. Another thing to add to my list. (lol)

Thanks!

If anyone wants these, please let me know... and let me know which format would work best for you.... jpeg, pdf, or publisher file... I can even convert to a word, or gif file if needed. Just PM me...

Actually, to make this a little easier... If everyone (who wants one) will PM me with their email address... then I will send one big email to everyone with all the formats and whatever works for you and your computer you can choose from!

Sound Kosher?

Jenn-glad to hear it was not a blockage in your F tubes. Hopefully wit the next few tests things will work out and they can figure out what is going on.

As far as trying new foods:
Yes I am very excited to try new foods, the best way to try things you would not normally try because you do not want to pay for something you do not like. I think I have talked my kids into trying escargot. We will see when the time comes.
