October 25, 2008 Halloween on the High Seas (2)

I just popped on the DCL website to see if we had our cabin allocations (but we didn't) and in the process I noticed that the Fury Catamaran Tour in Cozumel was now listed on our tour options - so I have now booked it and I am really happy because when I tried to book it direct they said that I needed to go through DCL, and at the time it wasn't listed! I love it when a plan comes together....:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I BOOKED IT TOO!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Come on people... join us!!!!!

Now i just have to wake up DH and tell him... :scared: :scared: :scared:

Has anyone ever done this??? It says moderate - they are not going to make me do anything - are they... like on a sailboat????

It would be great if we could get the whole DIS family on this tour!

I don't think you have to do anything too involved with the sailing - although they might make us walk the plank if we are not on our best behaviour!:rotfl:

Thanks for the Birthday wishes everyone. :lovestruc

Suzie ~~ I am bummed to have missed your call. My cell phone has been acting up and not ringing. I also wasn't on call this weekend so I didnt carry it with me alot. Didn't want work calling and look what I missed :sad2: Hope you had a great time.

Janice~~Sending more   your way. Hoping your memories and our prayers provide you some comfort.

Sarah and Jenn~~Congrats on getting the catamaran excursion!

Dana

Okay - (Dana and Suzie be prepared to laugh :rotfl: or cheer  or both  !)

Drum roll please....I have actually been working on my Fish Extender!!!! :cool1: Was impressed with myself until I ruined it by putting one pocket on squish and then scorched the iron ons. I'm guessing this was caused equally by my not having a clue, and my grandmother tut tutting and giving me the evil eye from above because I was sewing on a Sunday!

So - for you crafty people out there - how in the blue blazes do you use those iron ons without scorching? What am I doing wrong :confused3 ? Tried putting cloth over the parchment paper - still scorched. Iron too hot? Didn't use steam, knew that was a no-no. Now I'm afraid :scared1: to try the t-shirts, which was my next project. So I now have my FE in pieces again, need to make two new pockets (getting those pleats right is not easy  ), and don't have a clue how I'm going to put words or designs on the blasted thing to show that it's ours. Can see trip to Michael's in future (will have to be tomorrow night 'cause of course everything closed here today because of Labor Day - shoot! and I was on a roll - although admittedly it was a bad roll!! ) to try and see if I can find that stick on material Suzie was talking about.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Valerie

lol too funny, i have no idea why it would be scorching other than maybe you kept the iron in place to long...i just keep moving my iron around until i think the seal is good and in place. as far as the sticky backed printable fabric, i just saw them today at Walmart in the craft section it could be different in your store, but hey just ask someone and they should direct you to the right spot. but anyway i am proud of you for even attemping to make a FE, i have NO IDEA how to even start one! lol i am a little bummed that you didnt think i would think it was funny!:sad1: And i got yer PM, yes i missed Sat's chat, i decided to get a life, lol, no i went out and had a great time with the Hubby and some friends. but i got online AS SOON as i got home, 11:30, and was sooooo sad, almost cried, no1 was there. Well im here now and ready to chat 2nite! hope to see ya there!:yay:

Amy - didn't add you because it was Dana and Suzie who were teasing me about it. Just had another look at what I had done (and tore off!) and the second attempt wasn't too bad. Might try it again and use the cloth - that seemed to work better!

Shoot - just realized tossed out the Michael's flyer with the 50% off one item coupon. Sugar! Hmmm ...do I want it bad enough to go through the garbage.... ah - NO!! Must see if can get it on line....

Talk to you all in chat tonight!

Valerie
(Queen of the Addict - I am. Crafty Kate - I am NOT!!)

Sarah - we're in chat and the FE group came up. It looks like we're up to 35+ cabins. We (the girls in chat tonight) came up with 2 suggestions...

1. is there a way to find out if everyone listed is still participating? there's people on that list who haven't posted in ages - some we're wondering if they're even still cruising with us.

2. if the numbers stay over 30 - how about dividing into 3 groups? 15+ cabins is a lot to prepare for and deliver to, especially with only 2 sea days and TOT to prepare for.

Thoughts everyone/anyone??

Valerie

I am all for 2 or 3 lists.... having 10+- cabins would be good....

I recevied a pic of my fe...

I am going to try to post it here.... Tiffany did an incredible job!

Some really lovely Fish Extenders there - wow - you are all really talented. Mine doesn't look very good at all in comparison - but so long as it is functional (and even that remains to be seen at this moment in time)

I am so sorry to keep missing chat - it is always on a day when I am really tired and staying up after midnight isn't really an option as I am working the next day - why does work get in the way of cruise planning! I will definitely need to find some stamina for this cruise.
By the way does anyone have Windows Live (MSN) - if so I could probably chat more easily using this method if anyone is online and it's a more reasonable hour - if anyone does, perhaps you could PM me your details. Thanks.

Re: Fish Extenders: I will PM the people on the list now to see if I can get the missing cabin numbers and check they are still participating. Then we could have a vote on the list splitting.

The kids go back to school tomorrow after 6 weeks vacation so hopefully I will be able to start getting more done - it's all creeping up really fast now and it's very:scared1:

Good idea Jackie - although because I work different days each week I cannot commit to a particular day each week unfortunately. However I can do most evenings between 9pm and 11pm as I usually finish work by 9pm. I have a feeling that you work a lot later than this though.

2 pieces of good news...

#1. My smilies are working on my work computer again... :yay: :yay: :yay: Don't know why they were not working for awhile there, but I do not want to jinx anything by asking the puter smily gods.

#2. It is September!!!! WE ARE GOING ON VACATION NEXT MONTH!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I just wanted to let everyone know that a Florida resident rate was finally posted on the DCL website for our cruise. We have a category 9 room and rebooked onboard the week after the rates for this cruise first came out, and the Florida resident rate still ended up saving us over $400 for the same category of room (we loose our $200 OBC, but with $400 in savings, who cares).

I just called DCL and yes they have the FL resident discount and i was able to upgrade from a CAT 12 standard to a CAT 9 Deluxe ocean Veiw with a very high possibilty for another upgrade. i am still in a GTY but i saved $100, getting a credit baby! so i lost my $50 OBC from using my Disney card but i saved $100 so really i still get my $50 lol. I AM SOOOOOOOO FLIPPIN' HAPPY! can ya tell?:cool1:  :cheer2: :dance3: :woohoo:

Congratulations both of you on getting better deals :thumbsup2

Sarah between 9 and 11 will work for me week nights , I've vistors this week so maybe next week ,
