October 25, 2008 Halloween on the High Seas (2)

Well, happy (but sad) to say that we have heard from all of the families for ToT except for Domjans. All the nametags are done and ready!!

I have noted the people that have spa appointments that day soon. We'll talk with the other leaders and see what we can work out. Don't want to miss those massages!!! :worship: :cloud9: :worship: :cloud9:

Serious packing and planning going on. Going back over my already/always cruise bag to see what we need and what we can leave!

I keep thinking that I am forgetting something really important! Last time I had this feeling it was gel and hairspray! It was pitiful to see me asking friends if they had extra.....:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: So, making my list and checking it twice....

Getting my hair done today and have a pedicure scheduled on Saturday with Tori (her special treat!!). Oh, it's so close now!!!!

Speaking of people who have Spa/Palo/Excursions planned.... if you have not yet PM'ed me with your plans, please do so so that I may list them on the master list, which can be found here:

This link is also on the first page. Please take a moment to look it over and make sure it is right. Please PM me with any changes.

Also, if anyone would like to add any of their finned, feathered, or furry children to the "Family members we are forced to leave behind" list... please PM me with that picture as well....

That list can be found here:

Well, I just returned from the post office and I have sent my Fish Extender's and the gifts the are giving on their way to Florida ahead of us!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: I hope the box is not too big! I couldn't have used anything smaller and it was under 20lbs! Hopefully it gets there! Now I can't believe how much room there is on the dining room table!! We may actually be able to eat on it!!  Probably not b/c the other 1/2 of the table is filled with "cruise cothes" and my children would manage to stain them even if they were not actually wearing them:confused3 and the less :laundy: :laundy: I have to do over the next week the better!!

Looking forward to chat tonight!! Hoping to stay awake since sleep was minimal last night!! Chat later:thumbsup2

Thank you, Woody! You're right!

However, I just snuck out of work to get the dark shirt transfers and lo'n'behold there was the magnet paper, just callin' out to me, prrrrrrrrint me, prrrrrrrrrrrrint me so I had to buy it.

Puppies are harder than kids because you can't diaper them. If you can survive a puppy, kids are easy...just longer....forever...and better too!

So much to do, so little time...but I still feel kind of like it's in reach...we'll see how the weekend goes!

I can't recall who bought the cow suitcase (Sarah?) but you'll have to see the suitcase I bought for my little one. It was on sale/on sale at Marshalls-pink, gold and black leopard with black patent trim...woohoo!

Here is a photo of our handsome boy:

Let's see if my photobucket editing skills are returning (minimal, they are):

That seems to work. Beloved wife. Beloved friend.

Might want to bring a sharpie pen. Sometimes door decorations and FEs can walk. Read a few that say to put your name and/or stateroom number on those items. That way, they can be reunited with you. Not aware of any such issues last Halloween, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Travelers checks? If you're taking them, might want to get them soon.

Also, regarding Passports:

Sign them!
Make a photocopy of the first page, the one with your photo, information, and signature.
Don't recall that you need them to get off the ship at ports of call, so leave them in the safe. More experienced cruisers may have different info, and if so will defer to them.

Other than shoes, a golf shirt, and belts, I think all my stuff is laid out. Am currently working on the cruise box items. FE shopping done today. Updating the master file, will print next week. Next, some laundry and door decoration work.

:groom:

Our issue is that Annika only eats about four things on the planet. She will probably have cheese pizza for every meal. Sofia, on the other hand, loves all kinds of foods. Her favorites are sushi and Indian. Go figure!

My 15-year old niece ordered the same meal for every night on both our 3- and 4-night cruises: from the "lighter side" menu, she chose the 12 ounce steak with rice and broccoli. 12 ounces = "lighter" This year she plans on branching out and trying the salmon and mahi-mahi (also from the "lighter" menu).

Her sisters both eat a wide variety. I only wanted half a grilled cheese sandwich or a McDonald's cheeseburger or plain hotdog when at restaurants when I was little.

I think I've nearly broken my printer from making door magnets. I bought the paper online and think it is heavier than the stuff from staples. I've gotten 34 FE magnets done and the ones for the family, but I still had more to make. I may just head back to Staples for their thinner version.

What is the correct iron-on transfer paper for lime green? Dark or normal? I thought the dark one was for cotton only (at least at Staples).

i used regular iron-ons for light shirts for our lime green shirts, they turned out juuuuuuust fine.

Hey All,

I am stuck at work so I am not going to be able to get into chat... :sad1:

I will try to be out of here and home on chat by 9ish... I hope i catch a bunch of you, but for those I miss:

Hope your pre-cruise days are going better than mine and that you are all as stress free as possible.
Lots of pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: to all of you!

Well, DW took a break from work around 4:40. We all went out back to play. DW throwing, Max chasing, Max eating, and me on the camera (surprised them). I got some decend (I think) photos of him in motion. Some blur, but I'm happy with my first try.

Back inside. Max and I upstairs. A boom. Zapping. Popping. DW sceaming (almost). Look out back to see fire and blue flashes of light on the power lines. Arcing wires everywhere. Seems a tractor trailer sheared off the phone/light pole real good. DW actually was watching out back when it happened. No power for over 2 hours. They're still working now, but lights are on. Gathering of the neighborhood at the corner of our house. A chance for Max and us to see friends old and new. Ditto the canines. Everybody seemed to come out to congregate.

Dinner rapidly turned to takeout. Now, she's lost 2 hours of work. Working now to catch up. I lost some cruise prep time. Remember the work I was going to do on the door stuff? :confused3

Hope your pre-cruise days are going better than mine and that you are all as stress free as possible.

I'd say the repeated balls of fire coming up the power lines toward the house killed the stress free part of today.

Max wasn't sure what was going on. Then, I called 911, and disappeared to go investigate/help. Ended up flagging down and directing traffic at the corner where we live.

Sean - sorry to hear about the power. Hopefully Christine can recover her work.

Just popped into chat - NOONE is there!!! I have a migraine soooo I guess I will get ready for bed! Good thing about having a migraine twice this week (yesterday & today) - should mean that I won't have another for a few weeks so hopefully none on the cruise!

Jenn,

Is the plan to still deliver the cards with the photo op info on them - to remind people of the place and time? You did such a great job doing them, I think it was decided to use them anyway - the reminder and as a souvie. We had volunteers who offered to help - will just need to look at the list and remind people. We could then distribute the cards at the meet to the volunteers to deliver as they get a chance. We'll just need a list of all the cabin numbers to share out.

Thoughts??

Valerie

HELLO FROM FLORIDA!!

Yup, we're here! Arrived today; we left Toronto on Tuesday (a little later than we wanted, but that turned out not to matter much) and spent Tues night in Kentucky, last night in Georgia and .... here we are, in Florida! I have a hotel booked for tonight and tomorrow night and then Saturday we get "our" condo for a week (not my condo -- I wish -- but we've stayed there before). The condo is so close to the port, I can see all the cruise ships from our balcony as they leave. I'll be waving goodbye to the Magic on Saturday, knowing NEXT Saturday she's all ours!!!

Saw the Wonder in port as we arrived today, then saw it head out to sea from our hotel balcony late this afternoon.

Makes it all so exciting!! :cool1: :cool1:

And for anyone who's wondering, at 5 pm today it was 86 F here!!! It's LOVELY!! :thumbsup2

I can still print them. No problem.

Can someone help me though (my brain is fried), I need some info....

The Photo Op is:

Tuesday, 10/28/2008 7:30 p.m. on the Deck 4 Forward Staircase

Did we also agree to do one in front of the WD Theatre (with a space in between us for Walt?)

Just so I can put both places on the cards...

Also, how many will I need to make?
