October 22, 2005 Roll call

Hi Afoss - You're welcome! I was thrilled too having that off my to-do list!!!!

Hi Scrapperjill - My parent's are heading right home on the 29th. They have a 2:25pm flight, so they are going to be sitting in the airport for a while. DH, DS & I are going back to WDW. Last year, we spent the day at the Kennedy Space Center after the cruise which worked out well. Even with late seating, we were off the ship and to the KSC around 9:30. We left the luggage in the rental car. We did attempt to "hide" it as much as possible by forcing as much as possible into the trunk. This year, we are going to head back to WDW and not fly home until Sunday (the 30th) evening. We'll get nearly 2 more days at the parks!

Hi again Everyone!

Just another website update - I added the graphic for the door magnet that Joemuseum created for us. It will definitely be easier to find there when you want it rather than trying to find the page where it was posted (Page 24 if you really want to know!)

If anyone doesn't have access to a color printer, let me know - I can print a few extra when I get around to making mine....

Pdarrah.... ;) Sounds like a good time. Right now we have flights home on the 29th at 5:30pm...I was looking at one of the waterparks...but didn't know if we'd really have time to enjoy ourselves...but I guess it's not really much less time that what we have on some of the Port days...so I'd hope we'd have enough time to do something.

Hey cruisers!

I posted this on the DCL board, on the Door Magnet thread so I thought I would post it here too!

Thanks again joemuseum for the fabulous graphic!

I am so excited!! :cool1: :cool1: I went out last night and bought a new blouse and skirt to wear for semi-formal night!! :rotfl:

Happy Monday everyone!

Timon - Great door sign & great website!

Do any of you want a Passporter Guide to the Disney Cruise Line - 2nd Edition? I bought the 3rd edition and am now trying to figure out what to do with the "old" one. They didn't really change it that much. The 3rd edition covers the west coast cruises, includes a little about Pirate night and a few other small updates. BUT most of the info in the 2nd edition is great - particularly for a first time DCL cruiser. If anyone would like it, I can send it "book rate" through the post office within the USA pretty cheap and it usually takes about 2 weeks to arrive. Outside the USA, I would probably need you to help with postage - but other than that it is a FREE book. Let me know - whoever contacts me first can have it! :) :flower:

Hi!
We're getting sooooo excited now, read and re-read our passporter and paid up for the cruise yesterday :cool1:

The weather here in the UK is pretty dull today so can't wait to get some lovely Florida/caribbean sunshine! :sunny:

:wave2:

Anyone been able to book Palo for dinner or Flounders yet? I can't until the 8th and just wondering if there are any good times left?

Hi UKAngel - We're getting TOO much sunshine here. It hasn't rained in the Chicago area in ages and the drought is terrible. All the grass is brown and unless you spend a lot of time/money watering your flowers, shrubs and trees they are rapidly wilting and beginning to die. There isn't even a chance of rain in the 7-day forcast. :worship: :umbrella: :sunny: :faint:

Hi Afoss,

If we have any concierge folks or anyone with the REAS package, then they should be able to book by now. Those of us who are Castaway Club I think can book starting on Sunday. One "catch" to this is that you have to be paid in full - so I paid ours off last week even though it wasn't "due" until early August.

If no one else has been able to answer your questions, I'll see what is left when I login on Sunday and post then.

Hello everyone - I can second Pdarrah as I am in Sunny Chicago as well. It has been HOT and DRY! I am hoping to get online Sunday as well to book some ressies, so I too can let you know how it looks.

Timon- Great Sign!! I still have to work on mine.

Kathy

Thanks for the offer to see what is available on Sunday. My husband decided to get the REAS package back in Feb and paid for it then. I need to call Disney and see if I still need to wait until Aug 8 to book those or not.

Like pdarrah, I went ahead and paid in full last week just in case. The next Disney visa bill will be very scary! :earseek:

Downstate IL actually had some rain last week so we are doing OK for now but it's going to be a hot and dry week to come. We leave for Myrtle Beach on Fri for a week so I'm sure the grass will be a lovely shade of tan when we get back.

Great job on the signs! I just need to figure out how to make one, especially since Abby will turn 4 while on the cruise so I want to do a fun birthday one!

Hi Afoss,

If you have REAS, I think you get the same booking priveledge as the consierge folks! Have you tried logging onto the disneycruise.com site and seeing if it will let you book? If it doesn't, you should call them and find out what is wrong.... Then you can let US know what is left!

Hi Pdarrah-

I called Disney and you are right, I could go ahead and book spa/Palo but I had to do it online.

So, went I on line and it let me book the couples massage but not Palo or Flounders. I called back and they couldn't understand why it wouldn't let me.
They couldn't do it for me so they told me to keep trying since sometimes the computers are so backed up.

Anyway- when I went to Palo, Spa and Flounders, it looked like most everything was still available. With Palo, I could only see the days but not times. They had dinner for every night available as well as high tea and brunch!

Hopefully, the computers will be working 100% come Sunday when most of you try to book. It's a bit frustrating!!!! :badpc:

Hello all... When I booked our Palo a few days ago it really didn't give me any option to look prior to booking, kinda like put it in and see if it's accepted. I wish I could play with it more to find info for you but Deb is insisting I stay off the site so I don't mess anything up....go figure..I can do the reservations cause she wont do puter stuff :confused3
I found a spa thread for Rasul (sp)....I need to get that booked as soon as we get on board. :rolleyes1
Hope everyone is doing well

Dining Question

Hi Everyone,

Is anyone interested in linking dining through DCL so we end up at the same table? We are a group of 5 and I strongly suspect that DCL will put us at a table for 6 by ourselves. Since we really enjoy meeting new friends on the cruise, we would really like to be seated with others. I think DCL has tables up to 12 (or maybe even 15) and if there are more than that in a "group" they put them at multiple tables in the same area. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I am willing to organize this (call DCL and get the reservations linked) for anyone who would like to do this for late seating. If it turns out there are only a few who want to join us - that is OK. If we end up with 40 DISers dining together that is OK also. However it ends up is great. :wizard:

We are a group of 5: ::MickeyMo DH-39, ::MinnieMo myself-40 and our ::MickeyMo DS-6 (although DS6 will probably only come to meals a few times) and my parents ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo (65 & 63). We all get along very well and it isn't that we don't want "family" time together - its just that we have a LOT of "family" time since we live 3 miles apart and I work for my parents (and DS comes to the office after school!) - and then we often do stuff together on the weekends and go on vacation together! A big part of going on a cruise it meeting NEW friends.

If anyone is interested, please let me know! To link the reservations, I would need your Res# from DCL which should probably only be sent via email or PM (NOT posted here.) and possibly the "primary" name on the reservation. Then I can call DCL and they just "link the dining" for those reservations so that the computer that assigns the tables puts us together. It does not effect your reservation in any other way.

Any questions? Any thoughts? Any volunteers? :)

New to DIS, but not to DISney...

You can add us to the Oct. 22 cruise. Two couples (one child-13) in two staterooms. Second Disney cruise. First one was an Eastern.

Does anyone know the which days/evenings are for formal night, Captain's dinner, pirate party, etc.?

Gotta learn all this chat DIS stuff... :earboy2:

Welcome ears1253! This is my first Disney cruise too and I am learning SO MUCH here!

Pdarrah- Thanks for the dinner invite...a great idea! I have a question though...how do you know what rotation you are in this far out? What about if 2 families are assigned different rotations then would they move someone?
I understand your situation with wanting more table members. We love our family but dinner is the best time to meet others and have some "down time" from each other :)

Ears1253....Welcome to dis...and to the 10/22/05 cruise meet board :goodvibes We have a few things in the works...Not sure if you've had time to read through the thread...but Pdarrah has made a special web page filled with all sorts of good information reguarding our cruise...along with a little more information on some of us...the stops were making....well all sort of things..you should check it out...I think the link is just a post or two up in Pdarrah's signature line :) ...and if your intrested in adding some infor about your group....just shoot a note to Pharrah...(she's not going to add anything with out your okay). On the web page there is also a cool "dis board" logo that someone else from the board made....alot of us are printing it out...and putting it on our statroom doors....and also noted on the web page...were making buttons/name tags for eveyone in our dis group....(if your intrested in the buttons...just PM me your info...names of all members in your group along with stateroom number (The stateroom number is just so we can make sure you get your buttons....were planning a dis meet on the first day around 3pm at the Mickey pool...and we'll pass out the buttons then...but if you can't make it...we can deliver them to your stateroom) ..

Anyway...welcome :teeth:

I don't think they assigne the rotation untill days before the cruise...so as long as your both doing the same meal time (Main or Late) it shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone know if you can request a rotation? I know last year we did...but we alos had the REAS package...and that's one thing they let you do with the package.

Hi Afoss! - We got RAIN today  :cool1:

My understanding is that DCL doesn't assign the rotation until a few days before the cruise. If ressies are linked, they will assign the rotation the same for the whole group. They do say that they "Try" to give you your preference of rotation if you ask, but I have seen plenty of posts where people did not get it. I suppose if we put together a group and all ask for the same rotation, it might increase the odds of getting it .... My preference would be APLAPLA since that puts you in Lumier's for the formal nights and Parrot Cay for Pirate night - however, we had PLAPLAP on our last cruise (and, yes, I did request APLAPLA!) and it really wasn't a big deal. We still enjoyed our formal nights in Parrot Cay and our Pirate night at Lumiers!

Now, it would be a problem if we tried to link reservations that have different seating times! I'm not sure what DCL would do if there were Early and Late reservations linked - my guess is they would move the Earlies to Late since there are always people wait listed for Early (although I personally LOVE late and wouldn't want early.) That is why I specified that I would be happy to try to make the arrangements for anyone with late seating who was interested.

Let me know if you are interested! :flower: :)
