Harry Potter 7 is being released on July 21, 2007!!!

Yes, we heard yesterday as well. Looks like a midnight run to ASDA/Walmart to pick up a copy. Can't wait for the postman on Saturday morning.:rotfl: :rotfl: Also means that I won't have to pay postage charges.

Heather

Ok, now this really isn't nice! I had just mentioned to DH that there was alot of interest on the Aug Repo sailing. He has to go and open his big mouth and ask how much it is? I told him the prices that have been floating around, and now he's intrigued! Problem is, DCL says the sailing is SOLD OUT! :sad2: Actually, they said that there are alot of options open, so maybe on Sunday, when people haven't paid their deposits, there might be some open space.

UGH! Why? Why does he have to even be interested in it? This is just teasing me! So, I'll probably be on the phone with DCL first thing Sunday morning. Yah right! As if they'll even have any cat 3 or cat 4 available!

Really not interested in doing the West bound. Would HATE the long flight home. Wouldn't mind the long flight to CA as much, it's just at the start of vacation. But at the end, when we're already depressed about getting kicked off the boat, no thank you!

OK, could I possibly whine anymore????? ;)

If you do manage to book we could have a mini pre-cruise meet in October!

Heather

Wow! Did you all see the number of posts on the Aug Repo cruise thread? Over 7000, almost 8000! That's amazing for a thread that's only been open a bit over 2 weeks. That's a lot of chatter! I have a hard time keeping up with who's who here sometimes.

I popped over there the other day and I must say there is a lot of general chit chat, bumping, etc. 8,000 threads really put me off. Think this is due to the general excitement of the release of cabins, prices, etc.

Perhaps once we get nearer to the cruise date then another thread will appear with cruise planning, meets, competitions, etc., otherwise you will have to do a lot a reading to find out the relevant info.

Paige,

So sorry to hear about your friends. :grouphug: Your post made me rethink my little real estate tax problem going on right now and put it all in prospective. ::yes::

Great picture of your "Happy Place". Mine looks almost the same. Chuck's happy place was infront of the bacon trough at Topsiders.:rotfl2: That man sure does love his bacon.:crazy2:

Nancy:wave2:

Oh how I laughed at that one.....and I nearly did get the page, didn't I.

Heather:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:offtopic: Ok,....officially done it now.... we're on the market.... send anyone you know to come and view our little house.::yes:: , so I can buy my nice new one:yay:

Its gonna kill me keeping it "viewing" tidy and ready. - geez - housework will have to come first:scared1:

Dont know if this worked, but if so - this is what we want to buy. Not quite a castle, but near enough for us. Probably still tiny compared to our US friends, but big to us.

O.K. guys, I got a dilema.

As you know we (2A, 1C-8) have a cat 9, deck 2 room for $5,200 for the EB Repo in 2008.

I saw that some people from my cruise 2 weeks ago actually got rooms from the form they filled out. So, I called Inventory Control this morning, and they do have another room for us. You would think that since today is the 3rd day these prices were out, they would have called me by now.

Anyways, they have a Cat 7 (Navigator's Verandah) for us at $7,090.

That is only $1,890 more ($126/night) and 5 decks higher.

So which should I take? Deposits are due tomorrow. We originally had a cap of $6,000 for the cruise portion (I was thinking more towards $6,500). So this isn't that much more than we had thought we'd be paying. However, the almost $1,900 difference will take care of our onboard room charges.

Brenda, if we don't take the Cat 7, would you want it? Not sure if a Nav-Verandah is what Jason would settle for or not. Also, I'm not sure if they allow us to name change or not. I would think with DS off the ressie, it would come down to the $6,000 range for the 2 of you.

Jeff

Hi Jeff.

If I were you I'd go for the Cat 7, especially if you don't feel like it will take a huge bite out of your budget.

I appreciate the offer on the cabin if you guys don't take it, but Jason isn't sure he can get the time off approved and he's just not all that keen on this cruise. I'm not even sure he wants to try the 5-nighter in Septemeber - I think he's ready to try something different.

I know you guys will have a great time - we'll be thinking about you!

On a non-cruise related topic, yesterday I pre-ordered Harry Potter from Amazon and reserved three books at our local Borders so that I can pick it up at midnight when it's released (one copy for me, three for neices / nephews). And we're already working on our party invitations!

Brenda somewhere else you'll have to add to your must visit list when you come over here, thats if some scally aint robbed it by then that is:lmao: .....By GERRY DUFFY

COMMENT ON THIS STORY

JK ROWLING finished her final Harry Potter book three weeks ago — according to a clue she left in a hotel room.

The author scribbled a note in black marker on the back of a marble bust in Edinburgh’s five-star Balmoral Hotel.

It read: “JK Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room (652) on 11th Jan 2007.”

One worker snapped the message on a mobile phone camera. And a hotel source said: “We couldn’t believe it when we saw it.

“We get celebrities in the Balmoral all the time and they often sign autographs for fans — but no one has left one behind on an ornament before.”

JK’s seventh and last Harry Potter is due out on July 21, her website revealed yesterday.

The Balmoral refused to comment on the message. But the writer’s representative confirmed she had been penning the novel at the swanky hotel.

The venue is a world away from JK’s roots as an author. She wrote the first in the series — Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone — in Edinburgh cafes Nicholson’s and The Elephant House while a single mum on benefits.

JK has already said two characters die in the new book — with widespread speculation that Harry is one of them.

That's funny, my DS7's happy place is probably the bacon trough as well!! (Well, maybe it's the Mickey pool, or Goofy Pool, or the kids' clubs....:rotfl: )

Beautiful!!!

I just spent the past hour trying to get caught up on this thread. It has been a very busy week at work and I have been working a lot of extra hours because a couple people are out on vacation. I will be glad when next week is over and hopefully all will get back to normal. The extra money will pay for having a veranda on this cruise though :)
It sounds like a lot of our kids are sick  Rachel has been home from school all week with a fever, terrible cough and sore throat. Al took her to the doctor on Wed. and they said no strep, probably influenza or a virus. :grouphug: hopefully all the kids will start feeling better quickly and all the rest of us will stay healthy!

Nancy Belated Happy Birthday :bday: :cake: party: Did you do something special to celebrate? Here is some of that "dust stuff" pixiedust: hoping that you get everything figured out with your taxes quickly!!!! I am now so glad we escrow on our own even though I hate having to come up with the money at the end of the year to pay the taxes on our own. Sounds like you too are very busy at work. Hopefully these next few weeks will go quickly for both of us.

Cass the new pictures of Kira are adorable!!! She looks like such a sweety! Thanks for keeping us updated.

Rachel' calling from the other room so I need to get her some more medication and I'll have to finish this a little later.

Ok I'm back. Made Rachel some soup, got her some medicine and she wants me to watch a movie with her when she's done eating.

Brenda I was excited to finally hear a date for the release of the Harry Potter book too :cool1: I think I might re-read the last one before summer just to refresh myself on everything that happened in the last book. When the last book came out a friend of mine had preorderd the book from Barnes and Noble and was invited to an in-store party at midnight the night it was released. She said it was a lot of fun. Maybe we'll do that this time too.
I would vote for Hawaii for a vacation! Al and I have been there twice. The first time we went for 16 nights and we went to Maui, Kaui, Hawaii and Oahu. I loved them all although Oahu is my least favorite. The second time we went we only had a week so we just went to Maui but because we had a whole week there we were really able to explore the island and it was great.

Lindy Loo We went to Paradise Beach in Oct. We bought the wrist band for Rachel so she could do all the "water activities". Her favorite was the kayaks. She was never able to get herself onto the "ice berg", there isn't a ladder to help them actually get onto it and it is slippery so she couldn't get on. She said the trampoline was fun and that did have a ladder into the water to help them get on it. When I just asked her about it she said she would have been just as happy at a "regular" beach. We took a taxi there on our own and it cost us $5.00 a person. We have also been to Stingray City. Al loved it and i though it was pretty neat too and Rachel who was 10 at the time thought it was neat once she got used to the stingrays brushing against her. The stingrays can get pretty aggresive because they are so used to people feeding them and at times it seems like they are actually swimmimg onto you because of the way they brush against you. We did do the stingray "excursion" on Castaway Cay in Oct. and I Rachel and I actually liked that better than Stingray City. On Castaway Cay they use a platform that the stingrays swim up for you to feed them so they are not "swimming up you" to get fed. They do swim around you and you might feel them brush against your legs but it was no where near as intimidating as at Stingray City and there were a few little boys and girls in our group and one they got used to them they thought it was really neat. Also at Castaway Cay they give you information about the stingrays which was pretty interesting.

Karen here is some of that "dust stuff" pixiedust: for you that all goes well with the houses! The one you want to buy looks beautiful!

Paige sorry to hear about your friends :grouphug: This is a great place to come to escape isn't it. I love the picture of your happy place! I think my happy place is any where on the Magic or Castaway Cay! This will be our first cruise with a veranda and I think the veranda very well may become my happy place. I can't wait to sit out there with a cup of coffee in the morning and be able to be on our balcony as we come into a port instead of running out to one of the outside decks as I have in the past.

Jeff maybe I could throw another dilema your way :rotfl: Could you stick with the Cat 9 for the Repo and then still be able to keep this cruise in Oct.? Then you wouldn't have to leave our lovely group we have here! Just a thought. I am always trying to figure out how to stretch our vacation dollars so we can do more vacations.

I haven't thrown that one past Suz yet. Oct is only $600 more than the upgrade to the Cat 7 is. Plus, we're already in to the Oct cruise for $750 (only $1,700 due - plus we could use free airline tickets). She had said in the past that if we get the repo, we will be canceling the Oct. But if I frame it this way, who knows.

She did say at lunch today that she doesn't want to go for the Cat 7. So we will be only putting the deposit down on the Cat 9.

I asked if we cancel the Oct if we should just put the deposit towards the repo and not have 2 active ressies out there. Her expression indicated she didn't want to drop it. So, we'll see. I'll ask her tonight.

BTW, I can't remember, who has Cat 10 or below out there on our cruise?

If I do decide to cancel, I am holding one of the SPH rooms. It would be a good grab for someone.
