Brenda Nancy and Jo, seeing we are on late sitting, IF we request 8pm dinning, do you know the rota we would get please?
Does anyone have any thoughts on which time you prefer?

8.30 seems very late for us, but we are cool to go with what ever you "vetrans" of the magic suggest. :) I guess there is aways the pizza and fruit bar by the pool or room service, if we get peckish about 6pm;)

Is it possible to get peckish on board a cruise ship?....were on the later sitting too but i hoping to persuade Hazel and Jess to give the room service a go..we'll see....

ps...Did i read somewhere we can order pizza from palo's on room service?...:rolleyes1

Brenda, you could come and stay here as were only 30 miles from York
(HISTORY),10miles from Leeds (GREAT FOOD),Then move down south and stay with Karen or Lindy loo for the Music and Culture both of which i know nothing about as the kids will tell you......:rotfl2:

I will take you up on that some day, so be careful what you say on these boards! Jason and I both hold degrees in history and we are dying to cross the pond for some travel to countries that are just reeking with history.

Sadly, apart from the $$$$$ issues, US employers are not known for being overly generous with vacation time. Jason and I both get three weeks per year and while my manager is pretty flexible, Jason's boss is a jerk about time off and he can't take time in November, December, or January.

Oh well....someday! :goodvibes

"November, December, or January."

What have you even done to WANT to come over here in November, December, or January?...It's cold (for us anyway:rofl: ),wet, windy and horrible and once Santa's been and gone the only thing left to say is "roll on summer"...:rotfl2:

I've never cruised with these staggered dining times - both times I sailed it was 6PM (early seating) and 8:30PM (late seating). We can certainly request it but I've been told there's no guarantee that we'll actually get it (like everything else!).

Jason and I usually end up having a snack around 4 or 5, especially if we don't eat lunch. Room service is good - they serve a mean tuna sandwich! :thumbsup2

I don't want to come to your neck of the woods that time of year! :rotfl2:

But Spain or Italy or Southern France would be acceptable alternatives. I also try to avoid traveling in the "high" season...much as I'd love to hit Edinburgh for the Tattoo in August those prices are....:scared1: :scared1:

If you EVER come over you must visit Castle Howard up are way it's one of my favorites places on earth,i could spend all day just walking around the house or the gardens and it's one of them places that never get packed either, not even in the summer....:)

ps...Not given up YET on the REPO and have asked sue at dreams to "do her best" for us,i'll let you know how we fair....I've already passed this trip over to her and am what with discounts and stuff over $380 infront already...

Linda,

What you need to do is put a request in for APL rotation. That is what we had last week. It will put you into Animator's Palate the first night and give you the 8:00 seating. Since you have a small child, you will most likely get it, since they try to put families with smaller children in AP the first night. This is not a guarantee, but worth a shot.

However, if you have the early seating, you may want to keep it until you are on board. That will give you the most time to decide what time you want. If you switch now to late, it will be very difficult to switch back to early. But going from early to late is pretty easy.

You can also switch your rotation. If you get stuck with LAP-late (meaning the 8:30 time slot) you could go once on board and see if they can at least put you on the APL-late rotation (the 8:00 time slot).

If you keep your early but don't want to go at 5:30, you can request the PAL-early which will put you in the 6:00 time slot.

Hope that helps.

Jeff

I have bad news this morning... Danny and I are going to have to cancel this cruise.... I sure am going to miss getting to meet all of you great folks and seeing my old cruise friends again. A new transmission for my SUV is the reason. I got the call from the transmission shop yesterday afternoon. The bill is 3K!!!!!
Danny and I had a long hard look at what to do, we have already paid for our April cruise, and we will have our condo in Perdido Key Florida back after 2and 1/2 long years of reconstruction to go to. So we decided that the October cruise would have to be cut. Can I still pop in and visit the thread and at least share in your excitement?? I know that the group here on the thread is going to be so fun and nice to cruise with, you will all have a great time.
Nancy, I feel esp. bad about not being able to cruise with you and Chuck again, I hope you'll forgive our having to back out. Please hold and hug on Kira for me, I was looking forward to seeing her!

And Cass, I guess you'll need to take me off the fellow cruisers list.:sad1:

To everyone: when cruise time rolls around, take lots of photos and post them ... I'm expecting lots of cruise reviews to read!!!!

Brenda... that goes double for you.... food and cruise reviews, please!!

Jo,

Sorry you won't be able to make the cruise. I know what you mean about the trannie. Our SUV blew its in December and it was just over $2k to get it fixed. Only 110k miles. It is a 2000, American built, and I've put so much money in to it. We also have a car with a Japanese engine in it and it has 192k miles. Got it in 1996 new and I've only put about $500 in for repairs other than maintenance items (brakes, tires, oil chagnes, etc.). I'm looking to replace it this spring. Can you tell which way I'm leaning?

Anytime you want to stop by, go right ahead.

Jeff

Jo,

I'm so sorry to hear that you won't be joining us - we were really looking forward to seeing you and Danny again. :sad1: :sad1:

You'd better keep popping back into this thread, and maybe something wonderful will happen and you'll have an unexpected windfall and you'll be able to make it after all!

Hope things start looking up and have a great cruise in April!

You're forgiven...but I'm still sad. Pop in as much as you'd like, I look forward to it. We also expect to see lots of pictures of April's cruise.

Take Care my friend, :flower3:

Oh what a shame Jo:sad1:

We'll all take loads of photos - send us a cardboard cut out of yourselves and we'll take you with us:goodvibes. Keep joining in, we'll miss you.:sad1:

What is it with car trouble lately?:confused3 - hubbys grand cherokee is still in the garage after nearly 4 weeks - so far the bill is £1500:scared1: and its not finished yet:sad1: My little micra is having problem shifting from reverse to drive and is due in for its MOT and to be fixed in 2 weeks:sad1:

Just when you think you're all clear from xmas bills the car monster comes and gets ya:scared1:

Jeff - we have early - if I request PAL I am likely to get 6pm? Also what restaurant does that put us in for formal night? Duh! - call me stupid I cant work it out:rolleyes1

Back to tagging - how about we all get keyrings? - nice and small to pack:banana: . What I tend to do is take the chain part off and attach a xmas wire and hang them on my "travel" xmas tree. Its lovely hanging each one up every year cos it reminds you of where you've been or who gave it you etc.

Actually you can't do a PAL rotation. It would be PLA (or APL or LAP).

PLA for early will be at 5:45. It would be 8:15 on late.

Under that rotation, it would put you in Animator's Palate for both Formal and Semi-Formal. You would be in Lumiere's for Pirate night. (Four us, this would be our second choice of rotations for restaurant themes for Formal/Semi/Pirate)

To get 6:00 p.m., you would need to request LAP. This would put you in Parrot Cay for Formal/Semi-Formal. You would be in Animator's Palate for Pirate night.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Jeff

Just an update for everyone, I had lunch with Suz (DW for those who don't know) today (needed to pick up DS's B-day decorations/supplies - Feb 10). She said if we do get on the EB Repo next year she says we won't be going this October.

I told her however, that I am using the dummy date we have from last week to make any Repo ressies because who knows if she'll get off for 2 weeks next year. She gets a new boss in April.

I told her if we can't go on the Repo, we will convert that to the 4-night DD the first week in June '08 and still go in October this year. I will not cancel this October until the last possible day (how many days out is that anyways?).

Jeff

Anyone from our thread a DVC member? If so, do you mind me bouncing a couple questions off you via PM? Thinking about buying a small number of points through resale (enough that I can combine 2 years and go 4 nights over a weekend every other year) and had questions on how things work with DVC.

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff,
Missouri DVC memeber here (joined in 2002) - feel free to PM me and I'll get back with you this evening.

Brenda :goodvibes

E-mail or pm me, Wisconsin DVCer here, the best choice we ever made

I wonder if any of you live anywhere neat Exeter. My BIL is from there and I have never had the opportunity to visit. His dad & mum still live there and his dad is a what we would consider a judge. He retired but is called in to judge difficult legal questions. I am trying to convince my sister and BIL to go on a DCL since so many of his lovely country persons are sailing.

It is so cold here and I really need a Disney Vacation. We usually go in the spring to WDW but this year we are saving our vacation for 2 weeks in Yellowstone this summer and 11 days at WDW & DCL in October. We are thinking of going to Chicago for the weekend during WI teachers convention to see the museums or go ton one of WI many waterpark resorts.

Have a good night everyone
Judy:cheer2:
