who all has kids on this cruise and how old are they?

Sorry Rachel, our kids are DS(26) and DD (22). :teeth:

Grumpy,

for what it's worth I think you may be better off taking the Western for your first 7-night cruise. You get more time in different ports and spend less time, overall, at sea which can be a good thing if anyone in your party is worried about the possibilty of seasickness.

And surely there isn't a more entertaining group of DISers to cruise with, is there? ;)

Ok so I am wondering If I should go Western or Eastern. If I choose western then this is the cruise we DW, DD, DD will be on. Can you please tell me why I would choose Western over Eastern? Or maybe it would just be for the company ? ;)

Hope this finds all well.

When Nancy asks…ya gotta get it done. I set up a web site for KONKED KRUISERS through Yahoo Groups to add information and organize items you can’t do on the DIS. I’ve not added too much – just a photo...description and 2 databases.

On our past cruise (2005 Molar Express), we grew to ~30 families participating on a DIS cruise thread. I’ve got some great memories as we had a blast!!! This group really needed a place to share data that The-DIS does not offer. We were very lucky that Paul (Lloylf – on The-DIS) joined our cruise thread. He has strong computer skills and found a site for us to use. I just completed setting up a site through Yahoo Groups that closely mirror’s Paul’s previous hard work (big thanks to Paul for his assistance). Yours has been created a little differently. I set this up as a ‘closed site’ – i.e., a Moderator needs to ‘invite’ someone to participate. Once someone has received an invite...they can register and add information to the site. It is my recommendation you keep this a ‘closed site’. However, if ‘your group’ prefers, I can change this to an ‘open site’ allowing any/all with an internet connection to view the information we have added. I don’t want to dwell on the ‘horrors in the world’...just want you to keep ‘your information’ as secure as we can – rant off.

This is an ‘off-DIS’ web site for you to share information (files – photos – polls – database – links...etc). It’s an amazing organizing tool that offers free data storage (can’t get much better than that). Of course...they will offer links and banners (I call them Internet commercials) to ‘suggest’ you purchase goods/services from one of their vendors. However, you are under no obligation to review or purchase ANYTHING.

At this point…I’m going to delegate something back to Nancy.

Nancy – please PM me with 2 or 3 persons that would like to become your moderators. The requirements for a Moderator are ‘low maintenance’ (process an invite to another DIS member allowing them to join the group – pretty easy – it’s just like sending an e-mail from the Yahoo site). I’d recommend you have 2 or 3 Moderators in case someone is traveling or away from a computer. Also, I’ll send your Moderators the ‘properties’ of this site (as I created the group…I paste/copied the set up wizard so someone can easily change any of the options to better suit your needs). I'll need their e-mail address so I can process their invite to the site...as well as, add them as your moderators.

My personal opinion....this site should not replace The-DIS Cruise Thread...at all. I did set your group up disenabling the option of posting messages. I felt we (2005 Molar Express cruisers) duplicated some info between the DIS and Yahoo and it got a little confusing. I suggest you keep the DIS as a place to host your communication and grow members….Yahoo as a place to share photos, files, database records, links – etc. But again, this will be your site…and your groups rules.

It’s my hopes you can share information with each other...making your cruise and vacation planning easier.

PS...Brenda...thanks for the 'Thanksgiving Blessing'.

Take good care of you and yours, K

oybolshoi..Ta love....oops Ive done it again "Ta" means "Thank you" please forgive my northern twang..BTW..Had a real kick in the Goulash today while ringing round for flight prices. As the twins will be 13 when we set off they'll be classed as adults :rotfl2:and we knew we'd have to pay full price (gulp)for them for the first time BUT when she said "for the five of you the total will be £3900 (about $7500)" my chest started to Tighten and i started to hyperventelate BLOODY HOW MUCH? Has the USA moved in the last 2 years?,is it now off the coast of Australian or what...I have to say this came as a HUGE shock as the last time we came the flights cost about £1800 and even taking into account the kids being older it's still a HUGE hike in price IMHO...Oh well it's booked now so thier's no turning back..... :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Nancy,

I could help you out if you need it. Do you want someone who might not be going?

I have no problem doing it even if I don't sail with you all. I plan on posting here regardless.

Let me know.

Jeff

I'll be a "hall monitor" too if it doesnt involve anything remotely hard or technical! - it took me 5 goes at getting the Pooh thanksgiving tag on the screen so I dont want ot be responsible for anything I could ruin! :rolleyes1

Happy saturday everybody.

Karen what is it about us Brits and tech?,i thought i was Master of the Universe when i got how to work the TV remote..... :rotfl:

ps...As someone who spent more time stood out in the hall way during my school years i suspect i lack the moral fibre needed to be a Honest upstanding hall monitor..... :rolleyes1

Hi everyone, my pc has been down for a couple of days, and what a lot ive got to catch up on :thumbsup2

Im having problems even posting a photo propery, so I guess "hall monitor" duty, is not for me. Though if "DESPERATE" I will help, ( as I type Wayne is reading this, and lughing, sayign my "help" would not be needed! :rotfl2: )

Karen, please PM me your address and I will send the pin to you ( or do you want it addressed to Ellis?)
I have cleared my in box now so it should work now.

It was so nice on the UK DIB, (Like the DIS) I have had 4 PMs saying thanks for the post cards, I sent to various kids. It was so nice to read how excited they were to receive a post card from their favourite character. I made sure I "copied" the proper character signature from Ellies autograpgh book. This was just as well, as one little girl took her postcard into school, to show her friends. Another little girl checked it was "real" against her autograpgh book, and checked the stamp was from America!!! Now thats smart for a 7 year old !

Brenda, we went to see Disney on Ice in Birmingham on Wednesday, and guess what Wayne spied???? A HARD ROCK CAFE, so we whizz around the one way system, on our way home, got a bit lost ( could see the place, but just couldnt drive to it !) We got you 2 limited edition pins. Both guitar shape ( will post pictures soon) one for the cafes 5th anniversary which was on the 26th Oct, and pins are only on sale till 6th Nov. And a halloween pin, which has a fab design, IMHO. Me and Wayne were both feeling very pleased as we left with our purchases. :goodvibes

Making triffle and pasta for a big firework party tonight, that Waynes sister has each year. So will be back with photos etc next week ( I work Sun and Mon)

Take care everyone ............... Linda x

Linda, this will probably start to sound repetative...but, thank you!!

And now, to demonstrate to all of you what a dolt I can be sometimes...

I read Linda's post about being in Birmingham for Disney on Ice and my first thought was: Why would they be in Birmingham to see that? Didn't they just return to England last weekend?

Yep, that's right...this provincial midwestern idiot thought you were in Birmingham, Alabama for just a minute there. :rotfl2: :lmao:

Sometimes I'm just not very bright.

Jeff, Brenda, Karen....Thanks for volunteering to be Hall Monitors. Much appreciated!!

I suppose you could just PM Kevin and let him know you are a Konked Kruiser and a brave volunteer. PM him at: d'Isigny

And now that I have my volunteers, I'll also PM him and offer up as long as you "hold my hand" if needed. :groom:

Thanks tons guys...oh yeah, don't forget to invite me to the new site. :teeth:

(Jeff...none of that "maybe I won't be on this cruise" talk anymore. It would make me sad if you pull out of the Konked Kruisers :sad2: )

:wave2: Hello everyone,

Sorry I did not volunteer for the job but I know I won't be on the computer much in the next couple of months and I don't want to accept the job then abandon my responsibilities. However, after the new year, I would be more than willing to take over from anyone who is having problems or just doesn't want to do it anymore. But for my last 4 weeks of this pregnancy I will be on my lazy butt, or backside I guess, as much as possible so I won't be very much help to you :guilty:

And welcome home to everyone who just got back from vacation! I am anxiously awaiting all your trip reports and photos!! :cool1:
