Cheryl,

I tried to book our flight too today but it says that if we are more than 330 days out (which we are not) to call Midwest. Did you book online?

We're planning on being on the same flight on Friday!! We will have to meet up for a Mochaccino at Starbucks first!!

Jeff, C'mon....7:35 am flight on Friday. Tell Suz she can sleep on the ship!!
As for work, my boss said that if Marquette is closed, we are closed!! He took a chance on that one because Marquette rarely closes. I emailed him this morning and sent him a link stating that MU was closed. Too bad!! He made it in but I didn't even try. As a matter of fact it's 11:30 and I'm still in my pj's. :teeth:

Nancy,

I'm in my PJ's too and it is 11:45. I had a meeting with some of my board members and yes I was in my PJ's and robe.

Suz' dad is supposed to go in for surgery on his knee today. Not sure if they'll make it. Our subdivision hasn't even been plowed yet. The neighbors shoveled/blew their driveway, but has about 6" of new snow on it already. I'm waiting for it to end before I start.

Suz went to work today (near Pilgrim and Silver Spring). She said she went 20 mph the whole way (roads from here to there are all about 50 mph). Her company never closes.

As for the flights, put your return date in as Saturday. Using Sunday will also include Monday which must be outside the 330 days. I had the same problem. The flight is about $20 or $30 more each to come back on Sunday.

Who said it was Suz that want to sleep in? :rotfl: We figure DS would do better at MNSSHP if he sleeps in, but if we relax in the pool during the afternoon, he'll be fine. I'm sure it will be either the 2:45 or the 7:30. Since I'll be off all day, I vote for 7:30.

Looks like the first cruise meet will be at MKE. We try to sit ahead of the wings, so if you want to avoid us, pick a seat in the back. :rotfl:

Jeff

Cheryl,

Hmmm, I wonder if they won't let me book because our return date back to Milwaukee is more than 330 days from now??? But then again, so is yours. :confused3 :confused3

Do you not read my posts? Just kidding. Looks like we posted about the same time.

I went in and used the 28th as the return and because MW includes 1 day each way, it pulled in the 29th and would price it out in their matrix.

When I put in the 27th, I had no problem.

Try again.

I'm showing $206 for 10/19 to 10/27. $226 if you come back on Sunday. $20 each isn't bad for an extra day in FL.

I wonder how early these flights fill up since the return is on Teachers' Convention weekend?

Jeff,

I tried what you said and yes I got results. Guess I'll wait until Sunday to book the flight since we don't want to come back until Monday sometime. I'm thinking a later flight so we can do one of the parks yet. $188.00/ea??? Oh yeah!!! :cheer2: Hope the rates are the same on Sunday!

Suz works near Pilgrim and SS?? Is she in that industrial park behind Davians?
I always thought that would be a great place for me to work since I could probably walk there if I wanted to.

Ok, I've stalled long enough. Chuck came home early from work and is snow blowing. Maybe I should go out and pretend to help. The snow is up to Cabo's chest but it sure is funny to watch him running around in the snow. Brookfield had a final count of 11 inches!

Oh yeah...I PM'd you too.

Nancy,

Actually if you go on tomorrow (Saturday) you will be able to see Monday's flights. Just put in the 28th as your return date. It will bring up Sat through Mon.

Yes, she is in the industrial park. She works for that small company in the back corner. I think you know which one I'm talking about. Can't miss the building.

Walking to work would have been faster today. They always have openings there.

I just got in from snow blowing. Luckily the plow already came through so I don't have to go out later to do that. This stuff was deep and heavy. Almost 2 hours to do our driveway (including 20 minutes doing the neighbor's bottom where the plow came through).

Don't worry about helping Chuck. I can't remember the last time Suz helped me. We have a system. Inside is her domain for upkeep, outside is mine.

I will try to post again soon and read all the posts I missed, looks like you guys were busy! I also have some baby pics to share

Hope everyone is well!

Hey there! :wave2:
Congrats & :grouphug: !!! :teeth: :cloud9: I'm soooooo happy for you! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I know you are busy & time limited online, so I figured I would post here since I KNEW this is the place I would find you. ;)

All your scrapping friends send their warmest wishes for your Kira. :goodvibes

Glad you are doing better....and be sure to take time to take care of yourself too. I don't want to see you looking like this --> -- ok? ;)

Catch ya later. :wave2:
PS: Scott leaves in the morning for Las Vegas (again) for work. I'll have him play a slot machine for you...and maybe a coaster ride or 2. :rotfl: Since when does the military go on business trips to Vegas...twice in 6 mths btw? hmmmmmm ;) :rotfl:

Nancy Sorry I couldn't respond sooner but I just got home from work. The snow blower didn't work yesterday and I had to shovel my way out of the driveway to get to work so I didn't have DIS time before I left. I had to shovel because DH was at work. I worked 3-11pm yesterday and then just stayed over night at the hospital because I was on call until 7 this morning and I didn't want to have to possibly drive back in in the middle of the night and it would have happened because I had a pt. to scan at 2:15am. It looks like Jeff helped you figure things out for the flights. It does depend on your return date when you can purchase your tickets. I just checked the Midwest site and you can get your tickets today with a return flight on Mon. the 29th and they are still at $188.00 which comes to $205.60 when you add in the taxes. Did you say a meet at Starbucks, sounds great to us :) . It does seem that with Midwest the fuller the plane gets the more expensive it is to book.

Jeff come on join us on that 7:30 flight! You can always sleep on the plane on the way down and then like you said you can relax at the pool in the afternoon. Do you really think your DS will sleep in when he will be excited to be going to WDW and on the cruise? If he does you are lucky! Rachel is always so excited to be going the one time she wakes up easily is when we are going on vacation. We like to be as close to the front of the plane as we can. Last to board but first off when we get there! We have seats 3C,E,F on that Friday morning so maybe we'll be near each other on the plane.

See you guys in 10 months 2 weeks and 3 days at MKE

Cheryl,

If we could book now, it looks like it would be your seats we'd be kicking on the way down. :rotfl: If I remember correctly, MW starts at row 2 and we don't want the bulkhead. Looks like we'd have to grab row 4.

Unfortunately, we won't be booking until after our cruise this January. After that I will get a good read of DW and see if she wants to go again in 9 months. I'm sure by then we'll be back on the wing or near the tail. You'd think everyone would book now since $206 is reasonable and everyone is off 2 days that week we're gone. I just hope we can get on the flight.

With NWA pulling their non-stop to MCO, that only leaves AirTran as the alternative. They changed our flight in January six times since we booked it and we expect another change this Tuesday when the final time are set. Very unreliable.

As for sleeping in, I know that if we are going in the a.m., DW will take the first flight out. It's just a matter if we will put DS in school 1/2 day that day. Neither of us sleep in and DS gets up early the way it is. If he's cranky, we'll leave him up by you and Nancy. :rotfl:

As for DS knowing about the cruise, he doesn't. He doesn't even know we sail in 6 weeks. We took him last year over teachers' convention for a 3 night Wonder cruise, and he didn't even know until we got to the port.

He does think we will be going some where next fall, since we have the past several years. When we got back from FL this year, he says "when we go back....". I asked when he thought we were going back. He responded, next year, same time.

Jeff

Jeff If it was a fellow DISer kicking the backs of our seats it would be much more tolerable :rotfl: DH can and has slept through anything :rotfl:
We love flying Midwest and have not had the greatest of service from Northwest and I didn't even realize Air Tran flew out of MKE so I pretty much just check fares on Midwest and if they are decent book them as soon as they become available. Wow Air Tran changed things on you 6 times, thats awful. Hopefully if they make another change this week it will be for the better!
That's pretty impresive that you guys can keep all of this secret from your DS. We tried to keep our first cruise a secret from Rachel but I just couldn't do it. We had surprised her with a trip to the Kalahari in the Dells for a weekend months before and we asked her if she liked being surprised or if she would have rather known and she said she would have rather known so we told her about the cruise then. She was so excited! I've thought about trying to surprise her since than but she is becoming a Disney nut like me and really enjoys planning with me and I enjoy it too seeing how DH is just good natured and lets us keep going back but doesn't really get into the planning.

Hi all you snowy Midwesterners! Hi to everyone else too!

Cass, I totally agree with Cheryl - sleep when Kira sleeps. It's so important!

I'm really thinking my Katiebug's going to have to either lose those teeth that got knocked, or they'll have to do the procedure where they wire her teeth together to stabilize them. Today she was complaining that there was still pain. And the teeth are so wiggly. She cannot bite anything with her front teeth, and brushing them is absolutely impossible. Quite sad! :guilty:

Gosh! Everyone's talking about their airfares already. We're still looking for decent fares for our May trip. It'll be a long while before we book air for the Oct trip.

Finished up most of the decorating today. At least inside. Going to try to decorate outside tomorrow. Our tree looks so pretty. Lots of Disney ornaments! There's a definate love of Disney here in this household! :thumbsup2

Oh I hope they can do something for her teeth. Big hug for her :grouphug:

When Ellis was about 2 he tripped on his big truck and went head first straight into it nad chipped the front tooth in half diagonally. I cried for ages and blamed myself for not catching him in time, but now its kinda cute!

It'll be strange when he starts to lose them and you get those gaps! The tooth fairy hasnt visited our house yet. :goodvibes although he may be "gappy" by the cruise

Our tree and decs are up too. Finished them this morning. I'll post a few piccies when I get chance. My tree is all disney except for the odd Universal and 1 shamu ornament.

Cheryl and Jeff

It's official!! We booked our flight today. Leaving MKE at 7:30 am Friday Oct 19th and returning Monday on the 7:00 pm flight out of Orlando!!

We were assigned seats 10A and 10B but for some reason those usually change during check in. Last year when we went to Orlando with BIL and SIL we were on the Milwaukee Bucks plane. Oooooh...so nice and roomy. I suppose they have to accomodate those big tall guys. We got to sit in the coaches seats where we faced each other. That was really nice to be able to play cards on the way down.

We are still hemming and hawing on the choice of hotel for Friday Oct 19th. Will it be the Hyatt (convenient but pricey) and the Disney Transfer Bus on Saturday (convenient but unflexible)? Or the Hyatt and a Town Car? Or the Hyatt and Budget car for a day? Or car rental on Friday and stay near the Port? Or hitch hike to Brenda's hotel, snuggle up with them for the night, stowaway in their Town Car on Saturday??? (Just checking to see if you're still alive Brenda). ;)

Ohhhh decisions, decisions! :confused3

I think we will wait for those decisions until January. I think we are staying at POFQ on Saturday and Sunday night after. We are really CBR fans but since the kids won't be with us, we want to try somewhere else.

Brenda and Jo...we'll have to make sure that our new Yahoo site has the same spreadsheet we had for Oct 15th where we all posted where we were staying before and after and what excursions we were going on.

BTW...everyone. The Yahoo site is still under construction by our good friend D'Isgny (Kevin).

Later all
Nancy :sunny:

Almost forgot...anyone hear about the Magic's drydock for 2007??

Rachel

I replied on behalf of my son as he's snoring his head off in bed at the minute!

Great idea starting a kids thread. Hopefully more will join as the cruise gets nearer.

We decided to leave 2 days early to go to MNSSHP on Thursday night. We are either taking Midwest or Airtran. We had a schedule change with Airtran last year but I called and told them that the new times were not convenient to our schedule and they let me pick my new times without extra cost. I am willing to have a little inconvenience for a much cheaper cost, it was 59 each way, but for the same price I'll take Midwest. I stayed home on Friday for the first time in 17 years in the same building. We snowblowed the driveway twice and still had a problem with drifts.

I think we will wait on the booking for a while yet, I have 5 tickets to buy and that is a big hit to the budget before the xmas holiday.

Talk to you all soon

We have had them change our flights too when they did the schedule changes, but if you want to fly non-stop and they only have one flight, it is hard to plan anything for the day you travel until about 30-40 days out.

When you have a connecting flight already, it doesn't really matter. You'll connect either way.

We booked non-stop on an early morning flight - 7:30 (want that traveling from WI in January) and within a few days, they changed it to an evening flight (around 4:00 p.m. departure). They moved it slightly around that time again and then moved it to 12:45. Then there were 2 moves around that time. This was originally booked in mid-July. So within 5 months (which was 6 months before we actually fly), we have had 6 flight times and we expect one more this week.

We are waiting until their time tables are posted on their website before we call them to switch our flight. You never know what will change until it is in print. If MCO doesn't go back to morning, we will look into changing to their Tampa flight. It gets in 5 hours earlier and is a net 1 hour further from WDW. That gives us 4 extra hours in FL. Plus, the Tampa plane is in MKE overnight where you have to wait for the MCO plane to arrive. If you have a situation like last Friday (remember, we're going in Jan), you may not get out.

I agree though, you can't beat AirTran's prices. They do round-trip for around $150 when it is on sale. Sometimes, Midwest will match them, so you need to check both. But with us traveling over teachers' convention weekend, don't expect many good deals past April. I think that was the last time MW had a sale for this year. The planes filled up quickly.
