Brenda,
do you have a Memphis HRC pin yet? I was down on Beale Street last weekend (at Pat O'Brians sucking down hurricanes at a Bachelorette party) and noticed there was a Hard Rock across the street. Let me know, I can get you one from Memphis.
Plus, I will be going to Biloxi sometime in the future, I don't know for sure, but the Hard Rock casino may have pins.

Jo,

we don't have Memphis, yet, either. We've been talking about taking a weekend trip down there next Spring just for that reason! I'll let you know about that one, but in the meantime if you happen to see something similar in Biloxi that would be terrific. Thanks!!

Well Brenda, I think we can get around Jasons rule, as its my best friend that saw it on E bay, so she would bound to be your friend too, if you ever met her, ;) :teeth: as she is way cool !! :thumbsup2

I will put a bid in last minute ish...... how bad do you want it ? What should I bid up to? If it helps apparently its quite a hard pin to get??

I love doing things like this. Im collecting pressed pennies for a table mate for this October. Plus I've made a door decoartion for the honeymoon couple also on our table. I will post you all photos, after Oct. The door decs arent anything amazing, but it's the thought that counts ! :) . Each of the other 9 table mates have given me a marriage /love quote, and ive copied their wedding stationary design, (which the bride posted pictures of) Into 3 clusters of 3 lovehearts. Hard to explain, easier to post a photo!!! I'm also helping make someones 60th Birthday, by bringing some biscuits and Tea from Harrods, (a VERY posh department store in London)

I love the DIS.

Dont know why the link to Elouises photo doesn't work??? it did when I click on the thread? :confused3 Anyone else??? can you see my sweetie pie?

Take care all......... its 12.45am, im off to bed. XX

Attention all Oct 20th DISer's. I have, in my hot little hands, a AAA diamond pass for preferred parking at the parks which expires at the end of this year. Since Chuck and I are not going anymore this year, I'm willing to give it up to whomever wants it.

As long as you stay on the WDW grounds, you get to park for free anyway. With this pass you get to park next to the handicap spots. If you don't stay on the grounds, you'd have to pay for parking but can still use the pass for the preferred parking.

One catch...a couple block out dates apply:
MK: Blocked Sept 4 - 5, Oct 11-31, Nov 22-25 and Dec 1-31.
MGM: Blocked Nov 11-14, Dec 26-31
AK: No block out dates
Epcot: Blocked Dec 24-31

These passes sell for up to $50.00 on eBay (scammers!!! :guilty: -I got mine free from AAA). Since I never wrote my name on the pass, anyone can use it. I also have a discount card for certain restaurants and the big Disney store at the Disney Marketplace. That pass is signed, but as long as you pay using cash, they won't check on it. DS and DD just used it earlier this month with no hassels.

Any takers???
Nancy :wave2:

wow Nancy that offer woke me up !!!! :rotfl2:

I would love to use it if no one else does. We are in Florida 7th to 28th Oct, staying off site in a villa.
The discount card would certainly be used !!!!!! we need to save all our $$$$$$$$ for the cruise with you guys next year!! :teeth:

I just read the fine print on both the discount card and the pass and it asks you to show your resort id card, but I never did!! My kids also never showed the attendant anything but the discount card or the parking pass. You should be fine!!

:thumbsup2

Nancy,

I don't need it this October because we are going to Blizzard during the day on the 26th (no need for a parking pass there) and are doing MNSSHP at night on the 26th (parking is too far away from the gates and the buses work just fine from MK). We leave for Vero Beach on the 27th.

I do want to know, what did you have to purchase to get it from AAA? I am going down to WDW for the 2 days prior to our Western in January and have transferred our cruise to them. Is it something I just ask for? Or did you book a hotel or package through them?

Thanks,

Jeff

Lindy,

I see you are down almost the whole month of October. I can't remember, are you doing MNSSHP? And if so, what night?

We are doing it on the 26th.

We're only in FL the 25th - 29th, but in WDW only thru the 27th.

I found it!! Anyone else need a parking pass for this year??

Here's the fine print:

This voucher provides the bearer the opportunity to use the AAA Diamond Parking spaces at the MK, Epcot, MGM and AK theme park during regular operating hours. Present this voucher to the Auto Plaza attendant at the Theme Parks listed above with a valid Walt Disney World Resort ID or selected Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park Ticket. Parking subject to availability. Block out dates and parking locations may be changed or discontinued without notice and without liability. THis voucher is NOT VALID for complimentary parking OR admission to any of the named THeme Parks. This voucher is not transferable to any other party.

But since I never signed the pass, anyone can use it.

Anyone else???

Jeff, one of the passes just showed up in the mail one day after DS bought two hopper passes through AAA. The next pass and discount card came from a guy who works with DH. He booked a trip to WDW with AAA but forgot the passes at home. He had no use for them anymore so he gave them to us. I plan on asking for a pass and discount card next year when I pay off our cruise. For the amount of money we're spending, the least they can do is give me a little old pass. I would definitely ask for one next year if I were you.

Ohh wait!! I just thought of something. They won't give you a pass unless you are booked on the Oct 20th Western!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

P.S....yes, my little old farter lady encounter happened at the Silver Spring/Pilgrim Road Walgreens!! :rolleyes1

Nancy,

we wouldn't have any use for the parking pass but if you had extra restaurant discount cards I would also be "chuffed" to snag one. If you only have one, by all means give it to Linda...she deserves it for being so nice and because she and her family could definitely get better use from it for a month-long stay.

BTW, I believe that the word "chuffed" means excited. Please correct me if I'm wrong, Linda. I have a friend whose mother is from England although they all live over here now and he uses a lot of British versions of words.

As for the ebay pin - I wouldn't want to spend more than $12 - it didn't look like a special collectors pin or anything that would warrant paying too much over retail. Thanks again for helping us out Linda. :wave2:

I'm traveling to Kansas City next week for work, so I'll be mercifully quiet for the better part of next week. :teeth:

Here's my Disney Magic offering of the day - another Castaway Cay shot with the early signs of Hurricane Wilma's nasty weather...

Linda,

I can see your photo just fine! what a cutie Elouise is!!!

Just a bit of advice regarding the AAA pass. Our experience is that you need to get there early otherwise sometimes the AAA spots are all filled up. We got to Epcot one time at 11 am and we were told they were all taken. However, after parking our car in a regular spot, we passed by the AAA Diamond parking spots and they weren't that far away from where we parked our car at 11 am!! I know MK's is in a good spot, walking distance to the TTC. Hopefully you have better luck with the passes than we did!

If you get anything from AAA, ask for the parking pass, we got one once because we got our U.S. Traveler's cheques there!

Nice photo Brenda!

Here's one....

These are the last of the 10/15/05 cruisers leaving as we are getting on our cruise....I know a whole bunch of you were on that cruise....wonder if I snapped anyone you recognize??? LOL

Thanks for the advice Cass :thumbsup2 This is what makes the dis so fab, :disrocks: everyone being so kind and helpful to each other.

Im sure looking forward to meeting you all, and to begin with this is one of the reasons my DH (Wayne) didnt want to ever cruise, " cos we will have to eat with a bunch of strangers!!!!) By Oct 07, I will feel like I'm meeting "old friends" :sunny:

Brenda, I will try and win it for alot less than $12, but if not, it wasnt to be. I will update after auction tomorrow.

Glad my photo worked, im not that good with PC's and normally get :furious: when things go wrong. Not sure why my photos are on a link and dont stay?? :confused3 but then at least they are there for those that want to peep!

Have a great weekend all Linda xx

Brenda, yep you used "chuffed" in the perfect context! It does mean very happy, made up !

I love learning what different words mean, and how you celebrate things compaired to us in the UK.

If I use any words that dont make sense to you, please just ask!

The funniest one for me and for Elouise who thinks this is hystrical is......... We say pants, as knickers, but you use pants as the word trousers. So when we were in AK last year a CM told Elouise she had pretty pants, once we explained it she thought it was soooooo funny. She would even go up to other people, while waiting in the crowd and say, you have pretty pants, then start laughing. :rotfl2: I had to explain to a fanily why she thought it was so funny. They were in fits, I think they thought us Brits were weird! :teeth:

Hey Linda, I figured out why the link wouldn't work when I tried to use it yesterday - photobucket was "out-of-order" for a while. I tried getting into my account about the same time and couldn't access it because of a system problem.

It's working OK now, obviously.... ;)

Your Elouise is very cute!

BTW - one of my favorite "Britisms" is "jumper" insteader of "sweater". I've never been able to figure out how that one came about. :confused3

Linda,

My brother in law is from Manchester. He met my sister on the internet, then met face to face twice and got married in March 2004, he moved here in October 2004. The first time we met (at Chef Mickey's!) I didn't understand a word he said  I just nodded my head a lot and hoped I wasn't nodding at something I shouldn't be :rolleyes1 My sister had to translate almost everything he said! I can understand most of what he says now but sometimes he will come across a word and I'm like...what did he just say????

The funniest is when they (we) first met. When we go to Florida we always wear our fanny packs, that's what they are called over here. (a bag that goes around your waist) After my sister told him to wear a fanny pack, well he absolutely refused!!! He was apalled that she even asked him to wear one!!! We later found out that a fanny, where he comes from, is a name for a woman's private parts!

No wonder he didn't want to wear one! LOL :lmao:

We still tease him about the word "bear" :p He pronounces it like "burr" :rotfl: No wonder I can't understand him sometimes!

"We were camping and we saw and big burr and then..."

You saw a WHAT?????????? :sad2:
