Actually, now that I think about it, we're not sailing a sea, either. For the most part it's a gulf, isn't it? Although the Atlantic is an ocean so I suppose you can use sea and ocean synonymously (is that even a word???). I'm just babbling now...all pretense at rational thought has long since left me and it's obvously time for this girl to go home.

Don't we hit the Caribbean Sea when we get to Crand Cayman?

Hey, I just noticed we topped 300 posts. We are on our way! :cool1:

I believe on some of these long threads, people race to get to the next level, whether it be by the 1,000 or whatever.

So, who ever wants to post the next 698 posts, you can get it. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Jeff, I am geographically challenged so if you say we'll hit the Caribbean Sea I'll believe you (Actually I think you are correct!).

I'm so excited - I finally figured out how to post pictures in threads!! Those of you who would like to see a recent portrait of Jason and I and the newest addition to the family, go the the May 2006 trip report link in my siggie and head to page three. Don't say I didn't warn you... :teeth:

Linda,

thanks for your post - I'm having surgery on September 8th and unless my doctor gets all crazy with the medical instruments I should be home the following day at the latest and back to work within two weeks. I've moved past the pity-party to thinking and hoping that this will be a good thing in the long run. And...I get a "vacation" before my October WDW trip.

I'm posting some pictures of our Hard Rock Pin Collection here so you can see what I was talking about in those earlier PMs. Thanks in advance everyone for letting me take this off-topic for a moment. As you'll see, we mostly collect the guitar pins but we are always on the lookout for a pin that's unique to a particular city. So many choices, so few opportunites to spend! :teeth:

Since I'm going all crazy with the picture posting, allow me to share a picture of our furry man-cat, Handsome Pete. He's too smart for his own good, thinks he's really a dog, and worse of all...knows he's the handsomest cat in town!

This is the best shot I have on the computer right now. Since Pete thinks he's a dog he chews...on everything, even books. Oh, the horror!! :teeth:

Oh Brenda the picture of Pete is too funny ! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Thanks for posting pictures of your pins, I get the idea now.

With your permission, I think I will get one guitar pin per cafe and one "special" one, like from Liverpool the Beatles one. Oh, not forgetting your father inlaw, just advise me what his prefernace is.
For the rest of you, im now a mad pin collector b default!!!

Im helping Benda collect Hard rock pins, I didnt even know these EXISTED a week ago. now my business meetings will be all over the uk, where these cafes are ! :teeth:

Wow Brenda! That's some collection. Do you wear them on a sash like the Girl Scouts? ;)

Since my travels usually only take me to the end of the drive-way and back, chances of me being able to add to your collection are slim, but I'll keep it in mind.

DS does travel with his basketball team so I'll put a bug in his ear for you.

Thanks for the giggle of the mornin' B...Loved Handsome Petes picture chewing on a very appropriate book. :rotfl2: I wish I had a picture of our lab with the flower fence around his neck. Gotta love em'!

:dance3: :teeth:

Nancy,
You crack me up! :lmao:

The curator of our collectoin would never allow anyone to actually wear the pins...they might get damaged. :teeth:

We decided to buy an HRC St. Louis t-shirt and put all of the pins on them with the goal of filling the entire back side of the shirt before having it framed. Even though it's only about half-way filled it's very heavy, but I love the girl scout comparison!

Yes, I thought that picture of Pete was appropriate...he's a hairy little punk.

Off to work... :guilty:

Linda,

I love your idea - a guitar pin and a specialty pin would be wonderful. As for my step-father, he'll be happy with a guitar pin (because I say so!! :teeth: ). So I guess that means three pins total for each stop - be sure to keep tabs of how much we owe you (in both cash and mochaccinos!).

When I was telling Jason about your generosity in starting up a European HRC pin-quest he simply said, "I love our British cousins!" :teeth:

Abby..(Is it really Abby or Princess?) ;) We went through AAA for our reservations and received a $150.00 onboard credit for doing so. We have a category 6 Deck 6 so we got the $ for that. I believe the more expensive the trip is, the more of an onboard credit you receive. Hope you'll be able to join us!!

ME? A princess? :rotfl:

My DD is quite the princess, drama queen, diva, etc etc. That apple fell way far away from this tree. ;)

Thanks for the info. I'll check out a local AAA. Incidentally the one closest to me burned to the ground 2 weeks ago. I really need to FOCUS and get this reservation rolling.

Brenda - here's hoping for a successful surgery and good recovery. I LOVE the picture of Pete! I absolutely adore cats and am dying to have one. But my DH claims to be allergic. Well I suppose the fact that his eyes swell up and he goes into a sneezing fit every time he's around cats could mean that he really is allergic. I keep telling him that if anything ever happens to him then the first thing I'm doing is getting a cat. :teeth:

I keep telling Chuck that I would need to take a "Grieving Cruise". :teeth:

Okay, I couldn't let us slide on over to page TWO!!! :sad2:

How about a nice photo of the Disney Magic at Castaway Cay???

Cass - that's a lovely photo. Very calming. Sigh!

OK, peaceful moment's past. You guys have been so busy the last few days. I'm such a slacker!

Brenda, I was just at Baltimore's Inner Harbor today. There's a HRC with a huge guitar on top. I even have a photo. But I didn't go in. If I had kept up with the posts the last few days, I could have found out if you needed a Baltimore HRC pin. Now I feel guilty. I couldn't tell from your photos if you have one from Baltimore. I have a friend who visits HRC all over the world. I know he's been to Iceland, Munich, Oslo, and Amsterdam (to name a few.) He takes vacations where there are HRC!

Abby, your DD sounds just like my DD. Diva, princess, & drama queen are good descriptions! I want to know where she learned how to pose for photos?!?! That camera comes out, and boy is she right there, ready for her closeup! :cheer2:

Ditto on Pooh's remark about Cass's picture. I wanna be there!! party:

Hey Pooh, thanks for the offer on the Baltimore HRC - we actually stopped at that one a couple of years ago when we drove to Washington DC. And my memory is so bad that I forgot until I read your post and then asked Jason...who was appalled by my hard rock memory lapse. ;)

I think the smokestack HRC in Baltimore is one the more interesting cafes that we've had a chance to visit - that whole waterfront area is great fun.

Cass - love the picture! I only wish it came with some conk koolers!! :teeth:

Brenda this pin thing is addictive!!!

My friend saw on E Bay a Buenos Aires, Peace and Rock pin on e bay. with 2 days to go, its only £3. Obvioulsy not sure what it will go for. Is it worth me doing a checky little bid ? Do you look on E Bay? I could give you the number so you could check it out. The P & P to the UK is very low, so I have an e bay account and happy to bid for you, and we can keep it with the others I will be getting! :) Sometimes the postage for stuff is soooo expensive. If you want me to bid, either pm me, or reply here. I just wanted to know how much to bid up to !

Cass. The picture is a great idea,if we slip, then we should try and post a picture to keep us all in the mood! Obviously I have no cruise pics, till this Oct.

Does anyone need me to do anything for them this oct, ( we are on the Wonder) or find out anything??
I will TRY and get some spare castaway post cards etc, so if anyone wants me to send one to their kids, from Mickey, I can do.
Elouise LOVED receiving hers, from a wondefully kind Disser.

Here she is with her postcard !

Linda,
I've only used Ebay once or twice - never thought to look for HRC pins there...probbaly because Jason's unofficial rule for adding to the collection was that we or someone we knew was supposed to physically go to the HRC....yadda yadda yadda. ;)

I don't want to spoil Jason too much but maybe just this once...if you don't mind...go ahead and bid and see what happens. I'll try to take a look at work - going to be tied up in meetings most of the day, but I'm sure I can sneak a peek. Thanks again, Linda - you are a sweetheart!

I tried to take a peek at your picture but the link didn't work... :confused3

Have a good one!!
