October 20th 2007 Western Magic Part 9

009.jpg

This is my Dad's side of the family. Both of my parents Mothers are in the picture. It was taken the day of my Grandfather's funeral on the steps of the church across the street my dad grew up in. All of my aunt's and uncles were married in this church, as well as my parents. My brother and I were baptized as a baby in this church.

I know that I am tired but where is the picture. I don't see one.

Oh by the way the rain did stop when I said it did earlier. But we drove by a temp reading around 3:00 and it said 58 degrees. Which is cold for our area.

Yeah I think we are going to have a nippy winter out here on the West side.

I could not even imagine. There is more to our family but none of them speak to us, so we don't count them. The ones we count are my Grandma, my uncle, my parents, Scott's dad and step mom. But there are at least 9 that don't speak to us.

Hey wait a minute. When I saw it, it was a link to photobucket. Now it is an actual picture. What are you doing to me.

Since Becky is trying to confuse me I am leaving. I will go pout in bed. :lmao: I will talk to you ladies tomorrow.

That's a shame. There's a lot of that going around. I just ran in to a friend today. She said here sister hasn't spoken to her in 20 years. And she doesn't know why. She just found out her sister was a grandma through her mother's obituary. :sad2:

Do you see all of your family regularly?

Not so much anymore. Which I miss. We are just so big now, none of us can house all of us. My 2 uncles live in OK now so I don't get to see them that much. In fact my Aunt saw Devin for the first time since they moved out to OK at Grandpa's funeral and couldn't believe her eyes and didn't realize til then how long it had been since they had come back "home". Dev was 6 mo when they left and 16 when grandpa died.
Holidays always consist of my mom and dad, and brother and family now. We are small but very close.

This is going to be a rough holiday. (I don't know if you read back on the boards.) We had to place both my parents in a nursing home in July within 4 days of each other. The both have alzheimers. We cared for them as long as we could. So it's going to be very different this year. :sad2:

We usually get together with Mike's family and have a xmas party. We usually meet at one of his brothers'. One lives 1 hour away and the other lives 3 hours away.

I couldn't imagine not talking to my brother. Since Devin was born we have become real close. I talk to him at least once a week, if not more. I always tell my kids that friends can come and go but you will always have your brother/sister to lean on.

Well, it's 12:30 here. I'm off to bed.

I'll talk to you tomorrow. I'll look for you on dis w.i.s.h.

I'm going to try to finish my trip report tomorrow.

Nite

 I feel for you Robin. Grandpa had Alzheimer's and I didn't see him the last 5 years of his life. The last time he saw me he didn't know who I was and that broke my heart. I was his Becky Sue (even though that is not my middle name) and I cried all the way home, heck I am crying now just thinking of it. If you need another person to lean on I am here.

Yep...my kids are very close. They are 10 years apart. So our ds (Michael) is like another father to Cassie. He has always watched over her. :)

Cassie's village. Since we downsized... we don't have a lot of room for it. We used to put it next to our fireplace in our previous home. It looked to nice there.

Looks lovely! - we dont get the village things in England very much and if they are in shops they are very expensive.
