Hey all,
After many conversations and back-and-forth, my family and I have decided that Disneyworld will be our next vacation destination. The trouble is that the last time we visited was 10 years ago. SO MUCH has changed, and I do not know where to start. I'm logging into the Disboards after 10 years in hopes that you all will find it in your heart to help catch me up on what I need to know! I'm just talking broad strokes; once I have a grip on that, I'll start digging into the nuances and find more information. The last time we went to Disney there were threads upon threads about Fast Passes, barely an app, no Pandora, Magic Bands (do these still exist?), etc. We need to know the must-see shows, how things work these days related to staying on property, and any other big changes that have happened since we've been there.
About us: We are a family of 5 adults aged 18-45. We are not the "go, go, go," type of family, preferring to balance some adventure mixed in with lazy, leisurely days. This means that touring the parks sun up, afternoon break, to sun down is not really for us. In fact, we are THAT group which will likely never make it to rope drop (is it still even called that?!). We are not interested in the more thrilling side of Disney, so rides like Expedition Everest are not something we need to take into account. We're
The rough plan: We're looking to do the Food & Wine festival in mid-September of 2027. We are thinking of spending 3 days in MK, 2 days in AK, and 2 days in Epcot, 1 day in HS for an 8-day non-hopper ticket. Please let me know if this should be adjusted at all, but we are pretty committed to only 1 day in HS, if at all. We're all borderline okay skipping this park (but again, based on past experiences).
TIA for any help or guidance you're willing to share. I'm perfectly comfortable with links and rolling my sleeves up and digging in if anyone has suggestions for threads I should read.
