October 20th 2007 Western Magic Part 9

Note to all: DO NOT do the Dune Buggy/Snorkel/Beach Party Excursion in Cozumel (if we go back that way). It was expensive, too time consuming, and just horrible!

Doing Coz on your own is the way to go I think. Just rent a car and go! That being said, we rented a car from Less Pay (it was soooo cheap) and it was a hunk of junk. It was old and dirty, but it was a convertible, so the kids loved it. There was even a half full (or half empty) can of Mexican beer in the car when we picked it up. That grossed me out a little, but Rob thought it was hilarious! He said, "Look, they even left us a treat!" (no, he did not drink it) It was an adventure for sure......:rotfl:

Speaking of '09 - Neil has worked out his shift pattern - yep:rolleyes: - he's opn nights shift on cruise week:mad: - that means officially he cant book any annual leave - his words were "well, I'll just have to work something out hten wont I!"

WOW! - his normal reaction would have been - "pick a different date"...he must really wanna be back on that ship with you folks:banana:

So who else is seriously considering that double dip in Oct 09? ITS THE ONLY THING THATS KEEPING ME SANE AT THE MOMENT IS THINKING I'M GOING BACK IN TWO YEARS:yay: - I'm excited already!:yay:

I havent even thought about what we'll do in '08 - it will have to be something in Europe:scared:

Anyway, have a great day everyone.

We are VERY seriously considering Oct 24th '09 (almost regardless of the itinerary) if that's when everyone else is going. We had such a blast seeing KKers all over the ship, although we missed out on all the fun at Rockin' D also.

'08 is going to be pretty tame for us...we're planning a local trip. Door County in Wisconsin is beautiful and my mom has a timeshare in July (read-cheap trip so we can save $$ for another cruise).

Good morning Karen

All six of us are seriously thinking of the Double Dip in Oct 09. The deposits have been placed and we are waiting for the new dates to come out. After we switch our dates, I'll transfer my ressie over to AAA (American Automobile Association) in January when they run their specials for onboard credits. Hopefully, I'll have another $350.00 credit. ($200/onboard booking and $150/AAA).

I'll also transfer some Rewards points over like Jeff did. We over-tipped our waitstaff and stateroom hostess because they were fantastic! I did have the cash put to the side but I think if I just used my credits, it wouldn't take away from my cash flow.

And, we are also placing a claim on Jeff and Suz. We want personal tour guides next time. After I saw all your pics, I think we really missed out on a lot.

Note to all: DO NOT do the Dune Buggy/Snorkel/Beach Party Excursion in Cozumel (if we go back that way). It was expensive, too time consuming, and just horrible!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this cruise will happen for us. I need a new car soon and Kristin and Jesse might be planning a wedding by then. Those two events will use up any extra cash we have on hand for vacations.

Gotta go buy those lotto tickets now. Talk to you soon..............

I think we'd all like the personal tour guide of Jeff on the next trip!

I'm going to get a Disney Visa (don't have one yet) and use it as our gas card to earn a few points. I'm also planning to transfer my ressie to AAA to get double OBC from Disney and AAA.

I wonder how many ressies we could link for dinner...hmmmm....what a group that could be!

Good morning everyone

Mornin' Carrie! How are you?

Thomas did not sleep well last night, so I didn't either. I wonder if he's coming down with something....

Oh well, need to go get some coffee and toothpicks to prop my eyelids open....

One last thought...and then I'll get back to work.

Has anyone actually listened to the lyrics for Copacabana? It's actually a really depressing song....

Hoping for 09 but still up in the air, especially with the expense of the 08 vacation. Working on it though, and we may just put the deposit down and see what happens. It's hard knowing what life is going to hit you with. We depend on Sean's overtime to pay for our trips, and overtime isn't guaranteed. Keeping our fingers crossed,if we do go it will be without the kiddies.

Does anyone know if you book a reservation ahead of time, can they move the discount and OBC to a that reservation if you re-book onboard? We were going to book 2011 on the 08 cruise, 09 wasn't even in our thoughts at the time, but am wondering if we book the 09 when it comes out if the ship "deal" can transfer to that? Does that make sense?

Jeff can probably answer this better, but when I reserved on board they told me I could change the ressie and still get the benefit as long as they're still giving that promotion. For example, I booked for '08 *knowing* that I was going to change the ressie. When the '09 dates come out, as long as they're still giving the 10% plus $200 OBC on the ship, I will get it also. If they discontinued that program, or changed it, then I would get whatever deal they're running. Clear as mud, right?

you are exactly right. Once you change your ressie, you will only get the incentive that is currently being offered. That's a big reason that I am planning to move up my cruise, I really like that $200 OBC and I am hoping that it doesn't go away within the next month.

They've had that incentive for a while, haven't they? Knock on wood that it's popular enough to keep doing it.

We're in Karen,

Great! - party in Chris's suite - get the Krug on ice!

Just one thing you all need to know - keep your hands off my tour guide - he's mine I tell you, all mine! (Well, he's Suz's actually but she lets me borrow him for his knowledge:rotfl2: )

Well Rob and I talked it over and we MIGHT be joining you guys for KK2.

There's a lot of ifs for it work out... and our little pincess would not be joining us this time.

I just wish DCL had a better policy for their rebooking discount as we did not rebook onboard since we really didn't think we would be back for awhile. :guilty:

yesterday i came home from work at 7:00 am dead tired. walked in the door and was greeted by addison(grandaughter). she smiled and said HI !!
i knew what that meant. emergency babysitting duty.
our dil had the flu and couldnt take her to the sitter, so our ds dropped her off at our place. robin went into work a couple of hrs late so i could take a little nap. she sure is fun. walking around all over the place.princess:
today is a day of recouperation as they need me again tomorrow.

I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things too. I haven't even taken the time to keep up here the last week and a half. I am over 300 posts behind on our thread :scared1: so I think I will just have to skim through here. I still haven't seen all our pictures either and I still have a few things to put away from the cruise. Maybe I should just keep them in the tote I put them in when we unpacked in case we make it to the KK2 cruise :goodvibes I have been really tired since getting back from the cruise and I came back to a crazy week at work, 2 people in our dept. were "let go" while I was gone and another one was sick when I got back so that made for extra work hours for me last week and over the past weekend. I am going to put that extra money I made aside to start saving for a possible KK2 cruise :thumbsup2

Oh and on a side note. I had a few drinks in my before the sacavenger hunt. I have never taken my bra off in public before but when they said they needed one I just reacted. After I did it first time I was thinking what did I just do. So I put is back on like great these people are probably judging me now. So they asked for it again. What do I do? Take it right back off. Just tell Mike my only regret is it was not my orange and pink lace one. I think that would have looked a whole lot hotter on him.

the only judging we did was that candyman is a lucky guy.:thumbsup2
fear not carrie. chicks have been taking off their bras for cinnamike for years.
its a curse i have to live with. :cool2: pirate:
(they really do dig the scar)
