This morning is our breakfast morning. Scott used to take Mac and I out for breakfast on his long week Sat's when he would get home. We have not done it in about 3 months so we actually get to do it this morning. We just have to pick between Denny's or the Good Egg. There is a server at Denny's that Mac likes, so we will probably go see if he is working.

Speaking of DH he just drove in the driveway so we are off to breakfast. Talk to you all later.

Good morning everyone! :)

Dave and I are off to drop our kitten off at my mom's house (she's watching her for the two and a half weeks we're gone) and then coming home to finish packing. :) We leave tomorrow! Weeeee! I'm so excited!

I got my magnets done yesterday and the paperwork is all in a folder. Everything is slowly coming together :)

I will see you all on the 20th! I can't wait to meet you all!

Went to see "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" last night. Soooo funny! We were 12 ladies (and I use the term loosely) in our group. It was my firend's birthday. Wow, what a great time we had. We laughed. We drank. We ate. We drank. We laughed some more. We drank.

The whisky sours at the Riverside theatre in Fredericksburg, VA are yummy!

Now it's off for the Saturday routine...Football and soccer games, then home for LSU football. oh, and start some packing....

Y'all have a great day!:goodvibes

Mornin'. Julia seems to feel fine. Thank goodness. We are just hanging around the house this am and cleaning and start my packing. Later we are heading to Missy's for a precruise party.

I am glad to hear that Julia is feeling better.

I am back. Paid the bills for this week. I will wait till Wednesday to pay the ones while we are gone. I even spoke to my mother for almost an hour. So is feeling so much better these days. It is such a releif for me. She even stated tonight that she will not be need a wheelchair on this trip. :cool1:

Carrie, that's great news about your mom.
See she might even have a great time on this trip and you'll have no worries
Here's dust stuff for that pixiedust:

We are back from breakfast and ready to get things done. I just don't think I have a lot to get done today. I have emptied all the small trash cans and have done the wash load for all the kids bathroom towels. I am not doing my deep cleaning until right before going. I am not sure what is left now.

You have no idea how much that means to me these days. I have been in the same position as your friend. I have been in the kids life for 9 years now. I am the one who pretty much raised them before ever marring Scott. It has been really hard. When they were younger I only had to deal with their mom smacking me down. Then of course i had his mother and grandmother that have their opinions of me. But as the kids have gotten older and as she took full custody away from us, I now deal with the kids and their mother smacking me down. It is like they take turns doing it and they enjoy doing it. In the past few years I have really changed how I interact and deal with them. It hurts me they way I am with them now. They have really turned me into the type of step mother I never wanted to be. But I really just can not handle them any more. I try to get close to them and when I think we have made progress it blows up in my face. I am tired of continually being hurt by them. Now it effects my daughter and that hurts even more. So I tend to focus on her and not the other two. I know that sounds wrong but I saves me from getting hurt as much.

If you are interested I can give you the whole story face to face but I have to warn you it is a long story. There are times that I wonder if being around them is even worth it anymore.

I appreciate the lovely statement. It really means a lot to me right now. Thank you

 :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:

Mac has an audition for a print add company today. So I just printed out directions to that but it is not until 1:00. I iwll need to leave here at about 12:15. So I have about 3 hours to kill.

Hi Elizabeth:wave2:
Can't wait to meet you and your husband also!

I'm home early from work and am going out to lunch and a movie with my friend Judy. Haven't planned on which movie yet.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!:thumbsup2
Later

Well I have shredded the stack of papers I had to shred. Now I am going through a sack of socks my mother gave me to see if they fit Mac.

Thank you

I wish somewhere along the way there is a book explaining how difficult it is being a step parent.

I wish Bob might look at one. He hasn't raised his daughter since she was about 3 or 4, so he's a bit out of touch with kids, although he really loves them!
But he thinks that my son is way out of the norm for teenagers by being so into computers and being arrogant and lazy.
I mean, I agree that my son is all those things, and should really get out more and socialize and excercise and do lots more chores, I wish he would too!
But at 17 it's difficult to communicate with him and enforce anything.
Really Sean is quite like a lot of teens but Bob doesn't understand that.

I'm thankful at least that Sean hasn't ever smoked, done drugs, had sex, drank. Nothing. Believe me I would know.... since he barely leaves the house!
Anyway, he is a good kid.

But I agree with you Carrie, step parenting is tough.
