I wish Bob might look at one. He hasn't raised his daughter since she was about 3 or 4, so he's a bit out of touch with kids, although he really loves them!
But he thinks that my son is way out of the norm for teenagers by being so into computers and being arrogant and lazy.
I mean, I agree that my son is all those things, and should really get out more and socialize and excercise and do lots more chores, I wish he would too!
But at 17 it's difficult to communicate with him and enforce anything.
Really Sean is quite like a lot of teens but Bob doesn't understand that.
I'm thankful at least that Sean hasn't ever smoked, done drugs, had sex, drank. Nothing. Believe me I would know.... since he barely leaves the house!
Anyway, he is a good kid.
But I agree with you Carrie, step parenting is tough.
Sean sounds just like most of the other male teens out there. Most of them these days are really into computers / electronics. As for the chores. I am begining to think that teens don't do chores. That is one of the battles in our house. Heck I pay them to do them, but I don't pay them if they don't do them so then they get upset that they don't have money and I won't buy the stuff for them. Kyle only being 10 is very lazy. He will go out and skateboard or ride his bike but this only after we all yell at him. Most of the time his butt is on the couch watching sports.
