So, anyone been watching any new shows this season? Any good or bad reviews? I've started watching Cane. Not sure yet what I think of it. Everyone seems to have parties all the time! The show's on at 10:00pm, and they have more adult subject matter, but then they have all these young singers and party scenes. Like they can't make up their mind who the viewers are. :confused3 I also did catch some of Journeyman, but the audio was horrible. I couldn't hear anyone talking because the background music was way too loud! We love Torchwood on BBC America, but we're such sci-fi nerds!

Well, shoot! Everyone goes to bed! I can hear the crickets chirping.

I'll hang here another miunte or two, just to see if anyone posts something!

Just got done watching Survivor, now watching Ugly Betty, then Grey's is next, might end the night with ER.....I love Thursday night TV

Ok does anyone watch Ugly Betty? Isn't Wilamina's body guard Vanessa Williams ex husband the basketball player?

I agree. Kids need you no matter how old they are. I help my oldest daughter with her kids every day. I talk to my youngest daughter every day, I give her suggestions or we just gab. We are a very close knit family. If I do not hear from them every day I worry. Diane

Anyone dressing like a pirate for that night?

Yep, we got our pirate garb! I can't wait. I actually wasn't going to dress up for this, but when I found out what a big to do it was, I decided to go for it.

Anyone see this in today's Pass Porter newsletter?

Disney Cruise Line passengers can now pre-pay gratuities for their stateroom host/hostess and dining room staff up to three days prior to sailing. Cruisers are still free to charge gratuities on board or pay cash. The option gives cruisers a chance to skip the long lines at Guest Services at the end of the cruise.

Good Idea, but I want to reward above and beyond service, before the cruise I would not have that info. (I guess that I could pass an envelope prior to the end of the cruise to those that I would particularly want to thank.

Don't understand that one. They have a curtain that divides the room as well as curtains over the window. Where are you putting an additional curtain?

Oh Crud, I just looked at the pics of that cabin, there is another curtain! Someone online suggested on for the area bet the closet and the BR to make a dressing room of sorts, but that the other works as well. I'll need to make a return to Wal-Mart.

O.K. Just got off the phone with DCL. The lady gave me some info about the "Onboard Airline Check-in".

You need to be either on the DCL Air Program and/or the Ground Transportation to take part in it.

The only airlines she mentioned were Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, United/Ted. I asked about the other two listed in the article (AirTran and Northwest) as well as USAir. She didn't have them listed but was going to check for me. She took too long and Suz mom called in so I hung up. Sorry I didn't get a complete answer.

For those not on the transfers, it would be $35 per person for just the trip back to the airport. That would be $105 for us. I paid under $52 for my rental car. Add gas, which wouldn't be that much, and I'm still under $60. Not sure if it is worth the $45. I can use the internet for about $3 to print my boarding passes and tip the sky cab $5 at curbside check-in and still be way ahead. I'll have to think about this some more before I go with it. Plus, still unsure of AirTrans participation.

Good to know. I'll be able to take advantage of it on this trip, but in the future, probably not since I will be arranging my own transportation.

Pirate costumes

I don't want to wear the same thing as last time. We'll have to look around.

I need to find a wench's costume that doesn't show so much "personality" ;)

Steve--and anyone else who is in the medical profession......Does it sound right to you that Emily's doc would prescribe a glucometer intead of doing a glucose blood test? She will have to check her blood sugar with the meter for I think 1-2 weeks instead of just testing the blood. I think that is a little backwards. I asked the nurse about it on the phone today and she explained it away. Please explain and ease my mind about this. Today was a rough one. I raised my voice at people in the medical clinic and I never do that in public......and it wasn't even these two ladies' fault. It was a moron in the pharmacy. I sent an apology to them later.:upsidedow

If I remember your situation correctly, Emily is possibly hypoglycemic. What the physician wants is a look at her blood sugars over a period of time. Rather than at one moment of time. To my knowledge, there is no blood test for hypoglycemia. With Diabetes they will do a fasting blood glucose, because that should return a normal or slightly lower than normal number if you are fine but High if you are diabetic. It would not garner any information for the hypoglycemic because it is but one moment in time. They could try to stimulate a blood sugar crash and read it then, but that would be unpredicable and possibly dangerous. By reading the Blood sugar over a period of time they can see low trends that lead one to believe that if there were a sudden drop in blood sugar it would put the patient into a crisis. (People with normal glucose clearance would not trend low and as a result have some buffer between low blood sugar and hypoglycemic crisis)

Now I may be wrong about a specific test, after all, I work in an emergent setting and not in the clinical setting where diagnosis of non-emergent conditions are commonplace. We treat hypoglycemics with food and send them home to follow-up with a primary medical doctor and testing is not our focus.

Now that page 2,300 is done, can I go to bed? :confused3

good night Jeff!

Damages! If you haven't seen it yet, then don't bother, you will be hopelessly behind. (It's like 24 in that way) but DO get it on DVD when it comes out or buy it on iTunes. I have been absolutely enthralled with this one. Which is funny since I abhor the two main actors that anchor this show.

No Cass, that is genuinely funny! I can't tell if it is for real or a SNL type skit. But it had me laughing!

I guess you never know but it looks like a real Dr. Phil type show to me.

I almost peed my pants when that last guy started to talk :lmao:

I agree, but, everyone had such straight faces. You'd think a few in the audience would see the humor in his reactions. Although, they may be talking about some horrendous occurance too. That could keep most sober and actually a little horrified at the hosts reaction. The fact that we can't understand what is being said adds to the hilarity.

I have an XL females pirate shirt that I'm willing to give to anyone who wants it. Laura bought it to wear but has since found something else that she likes better.

PM me if you are interested. Not asking any money for it. I'd just like it to get some use.

Blouse has been claimed.

Please - no spoilers! - it doesn't start over here till this weekend.

Cass - a Pretty Women moment I think!:rotfl2:

I'll have to wait till I get home to watch this.
