Hi Lori! Thanks for checking. I was just curious. You think it would be easier for the porters if it was color coded by deck or category.

How are you this evening? We've been pretty busy around here too, it's so hard to even pop in for a few minutes anymore. Can you believe our crazy weather? Summer just doesn't want to let go!

I'm lovin the weather. Makes it hard to start packing but that's ok.:goodvibes

As early as this morning Lori? You were up and posting at the "Butt Crack of Stupid"!

(Thanks Karen...I still crack up at that one!):rotfl2:

I get up every morning at 4:45. And lately don't go to bed until after 11. Can't fall asleep.:confused3 I'm usually one that needs lots of sleep. Maybe I'm just too excited!!!!!

Few of them understand Tina. Chuck get's it, but the kids just roll their eyes into the backs of their heads.:rotfl2:

I think Scott finally gets it he just won't get on here. But while I'm on here he like "say this, say that" and I'm saying come say it yourself.:rotfl:

Well, I'm off to work. Good morning everyone. I'll try to peek in at work. Bye

Good morning from a lovely sunny England:cool1:

Its a beautiful day and the sun is shining. Its still "big coat" weather, but its so nice to se the sun instead of big grey clouds.:cool1:

I'm off for a stroll to the shops.

Have a great day everyone

If you need a little giggle, check out this video. It's not in english but you get the point! Warning, not sure if everyone would laugh at this, I have a weird sense of humour :rolleyes1 I usually laugh when no one else is

Cass - a Pretty Women moment I think!:rotfl2:

I'll have to wait till I get home to watch this.

"I liked it so much I pee'd my pants....I mean as much as Pirates of Penzance!"

(Heather and Cass will get that one).:rotfl2:

Very funny Cass. Thanks for smudging my mascara. :goodvibes

Good afternoon Karen. We are expecting above normal weather here too today and all weekend. It should be sunny and in the mid 80's Sat and Sun.

Have fun shopping! :thumbsup2

Good morning all...

I'm on a bit early this morning...just catching up a bit.

DS will be wearing Pirate gear, but Mom, Mary and I will be wearing Pirate-type t-shirts and bandanas only. Well, and eyepatches and my skull and crossbones earrings. Mom bought me my shirt (it's cute) and Mary bought Pirate t-shirts for the two of them. I thought about full pirate costume, but I had to stop spending money somewhere (sigh) andd all the Pirate stuff I found I liked was a bit pricy. DH has a fluffy-type shirt he bought at a renaissance fair when we were in the SCA, so I think I'll pack that for him.

I got my iron-on transfers printed out last night, so I'm one step closer to being done with t-shirts! I think they turned out ok. I probably won't get around to doing the ironing until Sunday (we have a family gathering this weekend).

We told Thomas about the cruise last night - and it was SO fun! We started out by telling him we were going on a vacation, and started the Disney DVD. We showed him the boat, and he seemed interested, but didn't quite get it. THEN, he saw Mickey Mouse...and started jumping up and down! "Mickey Mouse, I'm going to meet Mickey Mouse! And Minnie Mouse, and Goofy!" He was jumping up and down and yelling - he is so excited to meet the characters! (Guess who's going to be combing their Navigator for all the character meets!)

My favorite question from him was (upon seeing Captain Hook in the DVD), "Oh, I'm going to meet Captain Hook - will he be mean?"

He also asked if Handy Manny was going to be there, then answered his own question, saying "No, he's busy. He's out fixing things for people."

My mom gave Thomas a hat with Mickey Mouse on it for the cruise (it's so cute) and I did get some pictures. I don't know how to post them, but maybe I'll bring 'em along.

Ok, now that Thomas knows too, it's going to be interesting to see who's most excited - him or me!

That is what they did to me first also. Here is how the explain it to me. If they are to take a blood test there is no telling how the result will come out because she could have just eaten something surgary, or within the past few hours had something with protein. Or it could be down because they request her to fast, or she has not eaten recently. Also the amount of exercise she does can effect it. If she has just been physical before the test then that could cause a low reading.

With her testing it, they will have a more accurate result as to what time of day or before or after eating she if effect. If they see something in her results over the week or two then they might order the blood test.

Paige,

I'm not in the medical field, nor am an expert in blood testing, but having my dad being a diabetic most of his life (before I was born), I know he had to check his levels a few times a day.

Are they having her take it at certain times during the day? I bet they are trying to get a reading of what times her blood sugar is high and what times are low to see if there is a pattern.

Are they saying anything about possible diabetes?

One test at one time will only give them her levels at the time of the test. I'm sure that rather than having her keep coming back, they will have you/her take the readings and log them. Then send the logs to them to review the numbers.

.. correctly, Emily is possibly hypoglycemic. What the physician wants is a look at her blood sugars over a period of time. Rather than at one moment of time. To my knowledge, there is no blood test for hypoglycemia. With Diabetes they will do a fasting blood glucose, because that should return a normal or slightly lower than normal number if you are fine but High if you are diabetic. It would not garner any information for the hypoglycemic because it is but one moment in time. They could try to stimulate a blood sugar crash and read it then, but that would be unpredicable and possibly dangerous. By reading the Blood sugar over a period of time they can see low trends that lead one to believe that if there were a sudden drop in blood sugar it would put the patient into a crisis. (People with normal glucose clearance would not trend low and as a result have some buffer between low blood sugar and hypoglycemic crisis)

Now I may be wrong about a specific test, after all, I work in an emergent setting and not in the clinical setting where diagnosis of non-emergent conditions are commonplace. We treat hypoglycemics with food and send them home to follow-up with a primary medical doctor and testing is not our focus.

Thanks, y'all; this explains a lot! Now if I could just get the doc to prescribe the supplies that go with the glucometer, and get a competent pharmacy worker to fill it, I will be set. (Yesterday I wasted 3+ hours trying to track down a glucometer out in town at places that my insurance covered, only to find out that they had it in my clinic pharmacy the whole time--they had told me in the morning that they didn't have one.....the worker didn't know what a glucometer was and was too lazy to ask someone else....)

That is sooooo exciting. I love the part where he asked if Captain Hook is mean.

Sitting right here beside me. She is working like I should be. Like I said, we are very busy at work.:confused3 I don't like that I can't get on here at work right before the cruise. What, do they expect me to earn my paycheck?:confused3 :lmao:

Can you tell me if her neighbors are staying near y'all on the ship?

They are on the other side of the ship at the other end. Wait Missy is telling me that she needs to get you that info. Were checking for it now.
