Good Night.

My favorite is the Original Disneyland Hotel. Grand Californian is pretty expensive, and very plush. The Paradise Pier isn't quite as Disney-like. I'm partial to the DLH because I used to dream of staying there as a child. Besides when you look inside there's a wall of pictures of all the famous people who have stayed there. The rooms are bigger than GC, and I think that the pool is pretty cool. .

Thanks for this info, Steve. Rick and I have booked to stay there next year prior to the Repo cruise and you always wonder if you've done the right thing.

Heather

Wow, am I the only UK'er here this morning?

I know the weather's dreadful...but that's no excuse.
Come out, come out, were ever you are.

Evening everyone!

Karen - I totally believe in wearing something twice. Especially for as long as you're planning on being away. No way you'd have enough room in your suitcases to plan on wearing something only once! Besides, who cares what others think! We won't talk much about you! :rotfl:

My puppy's surgery is tomorrow. Sigh! Hope all goes OK. To top it off, she's been seriously licking her paw the last few days. I took a good look at this morning. One of her nailbeds is totally inflamed. Not sure if it's because of the tumor, or something totally unrelated. Like she stubbed it or something. We're hoping she just stubbed it.

Good luck with the puppys surgery - hope it goes well:hug:

Thanks for the advice re clothes - I think I will wear a pair of trs and a skirt twice. It will make a big difference if we all do this.

Nopers, not me :sad2: But technically if I wasn't stealth my green light would be on all the time. I always leave a window open and at least one of my tabs is open to the DIS.

Me too, I'm always on, but as I often say, theres not always anyone home:rotfl:

Here you go Cass. Ask and you shall receive.

Great photo - wish I could have been there:sad1: . You need to superimpose the rest of us :lmao:

Oh well, it's time for me to get to bed. Early day tomorrow. Emily has an MRI scheduled. She found a lump on the back of her head a few weeks ago and we finally have an appt for an MRI. I really think this is nothing to worry about--swollen gland or something but I am so thankful to get an MRI because she had an episode back in Monterey that resembled a slight seizure (the neurologist thought we were crazy I think--long story) and no tests were ordered. Anyway, keep her in your thoughts please folks. Good night.:goodvibes

   Hope all is well Paige:hug:

Karen the hammocks aren't the easiest to get into but they are oh so comfortable once you do. Definitely worth giving it a try. The only problem is there aren't many of them and they are occupied quickly. This picture was taken late in the afternoon when people were already heading back to the Magic.

Thanks. My friend had one in her garden that she bought back from Turkey. Another friend decided to finish her wine in the hammock. Geez - she ended up with wine all down her front and bumped her head on the grass as she fell out the other side. I've never been brave enough to give it a go.

So get this. I just got a responce from AAA National travel department. She is stating that she is forwarding my email to the head of travel of Arizona and that she will be doing some research and be in contact with me.

I got this 10 minutes after I sent the letter, at 7:30 on a Sunday night. Hmmm.

Lets hope you get a great result.:thumbsup2

I will make sure that I am around with the video camera. :rotfl:

My head will be buried in the sand and my feet kicking in the air:lmao:

Wow, am I the only UK'er here this morning?

I'm here Heather - just catching up.

How are you? Excited yet? I am:yay: :yay:

Where did you get that lovely stationary you snet me with the bands?

I'm off to check my emails before this stupid pc crashes AGAIN:mad:

I read in the passporter that you can get family shots made into xmas cards at Shutters - is this only near christmas or will we be able to do this?

Hey Steve,
Just went to your site and saw all of the great Christmas decorating you do. My family and I just might have to take a trip out to Ceres one weekend to see it in person. It looks awesome.:santa:

Thank you. If you want to see the street, Christmas tree lane will be open from the first Saturday of December to Christmas. In my opinion, the opening night is the best time to come. The City closes down our street to vehicular traffic and people are able to stroll the street freely. There is also Horsedrawn carriages (large) that run up and down the street. Laura and I are hosting an open house that night for family and friends to drop by for coffee, hot chocolate, hot cider and treats.

He does great work. After your trip there you can swing out and see our neighborhood. We go all out too. Wish we had pics from years past, but this year we will take some. Oh Steve, we were at Walmart and saw a 8' blow up turkey for the front yard. We thought of you and what you could do for Thanksgiving:rotfl:

candyman scott

Scott, You need to send me pictures of your spread this year! I really want to see it. As far as that turkey goes... The only one gracing my house will be the one I'm gobbling! I have enough to do this year with Halloween and Christmas.

Thanks for this info, Steve. Rick and I have booked to stay there next year prior to the Repo cruise and you always wonder if you've done the right thing.

Heather

Heather, When I stay at DLH I really feel like a VIP. I've always been treated well. It is an older Hotel but I don't feel that it is dated at all. One of the coolest things that I saw the first time we stayed there was as we were walking from guest parking to the entrance (they have valet parking if you prefer) The sidewalks sparkled with pixie dust. I kid you not. Each time I walk down that way I am mesmerized by it. The Disney touches in the rooms are fantastic. The Magic tower used to be known as the Marina tower. It had the best rooms from what I can remember. I also liked the Dreams (Sierra) Tower, that one had the best views of DL and DCA. I did not like the Wonder (Bonita) tower much. While there, there is a few things, you don't want to miss. There is a wonderful waterfall garden near the Wonder tower. And toward the back of the resort you can see the overflow pool. That has a beach look to it. That is where they filmed a lot of the Mickey Mouse Club episodes. In that area you can also see the old fountain show building. They don't do the fountain show anymore, but when they did it was something to see. Kinda similar to the Fantasmic Show only much smaller. I was sad to see that go. Since you'll be there during the summer, you should take time to use the Neverland pool. I really love that pool. My son and I had some great times there. Oh crud, I'm talking myself into another stay!

Yes, we should be able to do this.
