Good evening/afternoon everyone.

It's taken me just over an hour to catch up.

We had quite a nice evening yesterday having a Uno and Curry evening at my brothers. This morning Rick and I took my Mum and Dad to a local town to do a bit of shopping.

Just waiting for Antiques Roadshow to start and I'm off.

We have a couple of new US shows airing on our TV channels this autumn. Wondered if anyone has anything good to say about these:

Hidden Palms
Californication
JourneyMan

Feedback would be good.:thumbsup2

Heather

I don't know much about the other two but, Journeyman sounded like a rehash of Quantum Leap. Could be good and could be bad.

Letter just sent to our TA. Should be sitting in her in box when she gets in, in the morning.

I really hate doing things like this. My stomach gets in knots when I have to confront people for things.

 The full letter to the AAA department fit in their predesigned form. That letter is off and waiting for a responce.

I know how you feel. I hate that too.

Anybody watch the first part of Ken Burn's new documentary tonight, The War, on PBS?

Considering the scope of what he's trying to do - exploring WWII from the US perspective and contribution - it's actually pretty well done. :thumbsup2

One more quick post before we leave.

I just got off the phone with my Godsons mom and guess what? He opened his eyes wide this morning!! It's still very clear that he still in the coma but this bit of news is giving us hope now. He hasn't followed anyone around the room or even followed a finger in front of him, but we are hopeful.

The doctors are quick to shoot us down with their thoughts but we just need a little something to hang onto.

The surgery to repair the hole in his right lung was successful but they have not let him breathe on his own since. They will let him try today for a couple hours and see how things go.

Please keep praying for Spencer, I know you will.

Talk to you after the meet everyone. Someone will be posting pictures I'm sure. I just hope no one catches me with a mouthful of pizza.:goodvibes

We are praying for him. Please keep us posted.

Oh well, it's time for me to get to bed. Early day tomorrow. Emily has an MRI scheduled. She found a lump on the back of her head a few weeks ago and we finally have an appt for an MRI. I really think this is nothing to worry about--swollen gland or something but I am so thankful to get an MRI because she had an episode back in Monterey that resembled a slight seizure (the neurologist thought we were crazy I think--long story) and no tests were ordered. Anyway, keep her in your thoughts please folks. Good night.:goodvibes

:grouphug: ..thoughts....prayers...fingers crossed... pixie dust... and anything else I can think of. Remember the Dr doesn't live with your child you do...stick to your mommy instincts.

I only weighed our large suitcases. One came in at 49.4 and the other one was 53.7. :sad2: We can not go over 50 so I did some rearranging to the garmet bag and now we have 49.4 and 48.7. I just hope we don't go over with the garmet bag.

Wow I woudn't have thought you'd get a response on a Sun. night. Good luck with this Carrie

You and me both. I am sure it was just a standard. I got your letter and I am sending it on type responce so nothing will probably come of this but I thought it was odd for a Sunday.

We will see how long it takes for my TA to respond to the one I sent her.

I know how you feel. I hate that too.

You were so good at what you wrote though. I did use what you sent me. My stomach was in complete knots over sending these letters. I really don't like getting people into trouble. I am fine now that I sent them but I can tell you that when I see I have a responce I will be right back in knots again.

I think the thing that gets me the most is I am doing all this behind my parnets back. That bothers me a lot. My parents don't even know that I have the air info yet. Let alone have pretty much told everyone at AAA off. I left my parents info out of the letters just so they do not get dragged into this but once someone pulls up my res that will see that we are linked to them.

Wow! I thought Laura packed heavily! I told Laura that we will need to pack the suitcases lightly so that we can come back with stuff. That means more bags but lighter!

Thanks. I do have a gift for finding the right words. Not that I thought that your letters were not right, I just thought that their tone needed fine tuning. Sometimes you get a better response by moderating some. This is especially true if you are contacting a superior about the performance of an employee. If you sound too harsh, they dismiss you and side with the subordinate, but if you keep the overall feel of the letter more moderate. You can still say harsh things and their thought while reading is that you are upset enough to complain but in control enough to be presenting a serious issue. They will side with you against the offending party.

I am packing for 5 of us. But we already have 2 large suitcases, a medium, a garmet, and 5 carry ons. I really do not want to use another suitcase. I know comming home it will not be to bad. I packed alot of our old clothes that need to be thrown away so we will do that on the ship along with the stuff to decorate the room for Macs b-day. And all the tag stuff takes up the medium suitcase so that will be empty once we do tag.

I appreciate the help with the letters.

Nope, I have heard that people like them. They have a good incentive program, although it is not a OBC. I believe it to be a gift card.

You are correct abou tthe OBC. It is a gift card. But as much as we shop there the card may be worth it in the long run.

While growing up I never took a trip without using a TA so I guess I am stuck feeling like I need to use one and with our DL trip right around the corner I am stressing out at the thought of planning it myself.

Yep, I've been very loyal to my TA's in the past. But WDW and DCL have taught me that I can really do much of this planning myself. I always plan all of our DL trips myself, but then again I never fly to DL, it's just too expensive. I've figured that one out six ways to Sunday and always come up that the cheapest route is driving the 5th wheel down and staying at the RV resort. Of course that is the best way since I already pay for a 5th wheel I might as well use it!
