time for my nightly cereal. Apple Jacks or Coco Puffs? I have never had either of them.

Carrie, the pics are SO cool! Thanks for posting.

Of course Rob is out of town, so what does Kira do??

She took her first step today!!! :yay:

The past few days she has been standing a lot on her own for about 10-30 seconds and today she was standing all on her own for about a minute as I was watching her and then she looked at me and took a step then tried to take another one and she fell on her bum

Yeay Kira! It's so fun to see them take their first steps!

I did think of the space saver bags, but you need a vacuum to suck the air out - what would I do on the return journey:confused:

Don't they make ones that don't need a vacuum (specifically to use while travelling)? I thought I've seen some, but of course I'm not sure....

DCL site update.

Yesterday morning, Cats 5, 6, 11 and 12 were availalbe. Last night it was only Cats 6, 11 and 12. This morning Cats 5, 6, 9, 11 and 12 are available.

Only the cruise after us in October has a full slate of rooms (i.e. you can pick any Cat, from 4-12).

I tried to bring up my ressie this morning, and it errored me out. So I tried my repo ressie number. I got in. Thinking I may have just timed my log in wrong, I tried the October ressie again. No luck, still an error message. Went immediately back to entering the repo ressie, and it went in.

For some reason, my October ressie is blocked out. Maybe it is just a glich, maybe something is up. Don't know.,

I will check it again a little later and see what I find. Hopefully this is good news.

Just seems weird with all the rooms that are available, then aren't, and then are again. And then to top it off, the ressie can't be pulled up.

EDITED TO ADD:

I just tried again, and now the "my reservation" system is blocked out. So needless to say, it is probably just a system glitch. Although, no more than 5 minutes ago I could get one but not the other.

Sorry to get anyone's hopes up.

:cheer2: :cheer2: For Little Miss Kira!!::cheer2: :cheer2: Cass, FYI...those pictures are adorable. I can now guaranty that your little girl will not see mom or dad at all during cruise week. She'll be passed around the KK's. Those towel pictures are the best yet!!

I'm rambling now. I'll try to be brief, on the same trip we went to Tombstone, AZ. Very cool. For those history buffs out there, Tombstone is history! Much of it is now very touristy but there is an area where they take you step by step through the exact location of the Shootout at OK corral. It Really wasn't much of a corral, more of an alley. Those guys were really right on top of each other.

Then we went up the east side of AZ, to an old indian dwelling area. This was the most dissappointing part of the trip. When Laura and I were married we went to Cancun and visited Chechen Itza. I was able to get up close and personal with all the ruins. In America, access to places like that is strictly controlled and the closest we could get was about a mile and we had to look at the ruins through Binoculars. Not interesting.

From there we went to Jerome and Sedona. We went on a long drive through the rock formations of Sedona. The Rocks which seem to be on fire, they are so red, framed with the intense green of the surrounding foliage made for the most impressive stuff I have ever seen.

After that we went up to the Grand Canyon. Did the train ride to the canyon. Won't do that again. Very abbreviated tour. I felt like a Japanese tourist being rushed from place to place without the chance to do much but snap a few pics and get back on the bus. The town that is right outside of Grand Canyon was pretty cool. It was part of the Route 66. Very nostalgic. Funny thing about Arizona. We were baking in the south but up north, I had to disconnect my trailer at night and stow my hoses lest they freeze solid. It even snowed on us one night. Crazy.

I really loved that State. Some great things there. If I could only live with the heat. I can't abide by that!

Not rambling at all Steve. I found this story (as well as all your others) quite interesting. Will you be our tour guide if we ever visit sunny CA? :flower3: BTW..I showed Chuck your house decorations and he is quite impressed. Maybe a tad bit jealous too.

Great info Jeff. Thanks for sharing. I'll check out all the ressies later today. BTW..Where have you been lately? We miss you here. :) I'm starving myself all week so I can grub on some pizza on Sunday. See you there. Don't forget our bracelets, I'm feeling a little left out.

Just have time this morning before work for a quick hello and to say 1 MONTH FROM TODAY WE WILL BE GETTING ON THE MAGIC   :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Carrie: Fantastic pictures. :thumbsup2 Thanks so much for sharing. And you posted them one by one. Good way to drive up our KK posts!!

What will you be doing exactly one month from now everyone??

Let's see, 7:35 a.m. in Florida right now. I assume I will be sitting in the queue with my luggage surrounding me, mouth wide open, drooling, and Chris is standing 5 feet away from me trying to toss some chewed up gum he found into my mouth! :lmao: :lmao: OK, really, I'm sure I'll be terrorizing my kids by now telling them to get ready so we can leave the hotel by 10:00.:rotfl2:

Sorry kids, the ressie system is back up now on DCL and at least my ressie is up with no changes (although I don't expect anything from a SPH room).

The Cats available this morning are 5, 6, 9 and 12. Looks like no more Cat 11's. They were there less than an hour ago.

Still seems weird all the changes in availablity, not only daily, but from morning to afternoon to night.

Also, like I said, the cruises before us have Cats missing, but the one after does not. Docs will be mailed next week or early the week after that, so something must be happening if it is going to happen at all. If not, look for upgrades at the port to be available.

EDITED DUE TO CHANGES ON DCL:

It looks now as if we are the only sailing in October that has their category selection not at a full slate. Again, something weird is going on there. Sorry again for having to change information and getting anyone's hopes up.

Tropical Update:

Thought I better follow up on the activity in the Atlantic.

Looks like that low pressure system moved the other way in Africa. It did seem a little too far north for where system come into the Atlantic, but a 1008 MB of pressure, that was low for being on land. The winds just north of it were strong and to the ENE, so it must have been pushed that way.

The low around FL is down to 1008 MB so that one may become something if it moves into the Gulf.

Again, it is too early for any of these to affect us.

I would wait until we're within 2 weeks of our cruise to really look at any system that could effect us. And at that time, look to the Eastern Atlantic. Unless it is very slow moving, anything in the Caribbean or Gulf should be gone within 2 weeks.

That town was Flagstaff Steve. We stayed there as part of our coach tour some years ago. Like you said..it was freezing at night.

With any luck, we will be eating our free breakfast from the hotel and checking out, awaiting our 9 am van to the port. BTW, I think the company we're using must think I'm nuts for wanting to get to port at 10ish, but they're accommodating us anyway! I changed our pickup time from 9:30 to 9am :goodvibes

BTW, when IS everyone getting to port?

Went I read this again...I sounded so rude. Apologies.

Yes, you do get Characters at your table. I think we had Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. Chip and Dale were also around as they did a musical number and we all stood up and waved our napkins.

It's also the time when the Maitre De earns his tip as he personally gives you your ticket!

You will enjoy it.

Heather

Hi Jeff! Thanks for the update - our local news was just talking about this because they "think" by Monday the remnants will be moving up the Mississippi to finally bring us some rain and cool us off. It's been back in the 90s again all week ... ugh!

This one actually has me worried for the Gulf because the water temps are still so warm - could get scary if conditions are right.

Can I ask a favor? Would you mind PMing me with the weather link you posted a few days back? And before I forget ... would you like my Passporter from 2005 with all the Panama Canal stuff? I'll bring it with me to WDW and pass it off to one of my English friends to give you on the ship if you want it.

Just let me know and thanks! :goodvibes

Hey Jeff, I would like that link myself. :thumbsup2

Brenda, Looks like rain here today so I'll be Argling at lunch time. Thanks for the update.:cutie:

It's a long one, and some of it is lifted from the October food review, but I think it's still pretty entertaining if I say so myself. ;) Hope you like it and I really hope it makes you laugh - you could use a good laugh or two right now.

Just a question........Does anyone know when they are taping the Christmas parade at Disney this year? Alex's English teacher was asking me and I told her I would try to find out. Thanks!
