For some reason I can't quite fathom I get the impression that you folks seem to think I am a drinker. ;)

Just because our drink bill was 1/4 of our entire on-board charges on the last cruise that's no reason to suspect that Jay and I have never met a drink we didn't like. :rotfl2:

Just got an email from Tina (Poohbush). Linda's letter was sent on to Steve.

So here's the list of KK's who signed the letter as of the time Tina had it.

Pooh, Janice, Cheryl, Victoria, Carrie, Mike, Heather, Chris, Brenda, Karen, Cass and Nancy.

If I didn't mention your name, please help us find the letter. Heather thought that Linda might be back tomorrow and it sure would be nice for her to have that letter by then.

Thanks everyone.

Did she just send it to me? I haven't recieved it yet.:sad1:

Can she resend? Make sure that the email address is correct.

A short list of those things that have really made me feel the ravages of age.

The first time I realized that I was old enough to be the father of the average playmate.

The first time I realized that I was older than my Doctor.

For me it was when my usual dentist wasn't there the day of my appointment, and the hygeniest said, "You'll be seeing Dr. Knoell. Do you know him?" Did I know him--I used to babysit him!!! :scared1:

Carrie last night i decided that we weren't going to do stripes instead we are doing 2 walls yellow and 2 pink right now 2 are yellow and 2 are white but i have 2 friends coming over at 2:00 no 7:00 but everything seems to be 2
when we had like 2 feet of the yellow on i started spazing to my dad on how much i love the color and how neat it looked!
when my mom comes home it will look like a totally new room!
we hope to be moving stuff back in it tomorrow! :cool1:
ill post pictures when it is done! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see the pictures. :cheer2:
What are you doing for curtains? Is your bed done and ready to go in the room?
Lynn

The next milestone is approaching rapidly--who's up for it??????

We should be starting a new page soon. Maybe that will inspire us. ;)

I know Linda comes first, but who wants to invite Curt and I to Palo Brunch--it was the only thing we realllllly wanted to do. :upsidedow I am still dreaming of my crab legs that are not to be.

Transfer stuff...

Here is the tip sheet I posted on the KK site.

Iron on Transfer Info
What You Need to Do Iron-on Transfers
There are kits available that give you everything you need, including software and a t-shirt, or you can just but iron-on transfer sheets.(Easy to do!) Whichever route you go, here's what you'll need for the typical iron-on style of transfer:
• Software
• Artwork
• Transfer paper
• Printer
• Iron
• Hard surface
• Pillowcase or other fabric
• T-shirt or other item to receive transfer
TIPS
• Print a Preview Always, always, always print a preview copy of your image before printing it on the (expensive) transfer paper. Do this to insure that colors print correctly, that your image doesn't fall into your printer's no-print zone along the margins, and to see what size your design will be (sometimes the on-screen view can be deceiving).
• Flip Image Don't forget to flip or mirror your image. This is especially critical if you have text in your design. The text should be backwards on screen or on the print out. (Another good reason to print a preview copy first!) Some programs do this automatically.
• Use the Right Side of the Paper Transfer paper has stripes on the non-printing side. Be sure to put the paper in your printer so that it prints on the clean white side.
• Test on Scrap Fabric Test your design on “scratch fabric” before applying it to your final t-shirt or other fabric. Some types of fabric may require more ironing (heat) than others or may not show off your design as well as you expected.
• Use Lots of Heat Use your iron's hottest setting but no steam. It takes a lot of heat to transfer the image evenly and completely to the fabric. Peel off the paper while it is still hot.
• Use a Hard Surface The reason transfer instructions specify a hard surface (such as formica) is because it holds the heat. Ironing boards tend to disperse the heat and the transfer paper needs to be very hot to work properly.
You can find iron-on transfers at your local office supply store. I have found it at Office Depot, Walmart, Michaels etc. Unless you can’t find any other brand, I don’t recommend the Avery iron-on transfers. I’m not sure about others but I don’t like this one because you cannot iron off the shiny part. If anyone finds a brand that allows you to put a blank piece of paper over your transfer (after it transfers to the t-shirt) and iron off the excess shiny part, please e-mail me and let me know cass@cassworld.ca.
It will be in the instructions if you can do this The brand that I used to use has been discontinued.

You cannot iron the transfer again AFTER you've ironed it the first time. So if you need to flip your shirt and do the back, you will need to place the shirt so that you are not ironing over the back design. This is not easy so I would recommend doing either the front or back, not both, unless you do it like mine where I just added a little thing at the top so I didn't have to iron my logo twice.

If you have an extra piece of fabric, like an old rag, I would practice with that first before you do your shirt, especially if this is your first time using iron-ons.

Ok I did everything in your tips except for the fact that what I had was Avery. But now here is the kicker. Scott noticed today that they are expired. Dec. 06. Now I am mad. I wonder if that is why they cracked like that. So what brand do people recomend. Can I buy just the sheets without the software since I already have the software. And now I know that I can not do both front and back. It was worth a shot.

All alone  --maybe that Cheddar-scented cologne wasn't such a good idea. What's a poor Cheesehead to do???

I can sympathize with your troubles--I am not crafty at all--I was hoping my home economist mother would help me. :rolleyes1

Did you just buy the sheets??? I would take them back to the store. It won't replace the shirt, but you should at least get that money back.

Nancy thanks for posting this! I have been looking at the different brands of transfer paper and wondering which is the best to buy. After reading about your good results with Avery I think I'll buy those.

T-Shirt transfers:

I used Avery dark t-shirt transfers. You don't reverse the image either (which is really no big deal anyway). I also used white Hanes t-shirts and K & J used pink t-shirts from the gap.

I just put a pillow case on the kitchen counter and used that as my base. Put the transfer on the shirt, the tissue papery thingy they give you in the pack on top of that and ironed it for no more than one minute. VOILA!! Perfect results! :thumbsup2

I think Cass uses a different name brand of transfers though and gets excellent results too. I tired Georgia Pacific brand once and didn't like it as much.

Victoria hopefully you will still be able to get a brunch reservation :wizard: Just go to where they are taking Palo reservations as soon as you board the ship, they usually keep some reservations for then. They also have a waiting tlist in case people cancel. A friend of mine got a reservation by being on the waiting list when they cruised earlier this year.

I know Linda comes first, but who wants to invite Curt and I to Palo Brunch--it was the only thing we realllllly wanted to do. :upsidedow I am still dreaming of my crab legs that are not to be.

I have to take my son's friend home--good luck getting to 20,000!

Robin here...
