Here is a question for all of you. I am looking at doing the sub ride in Grand Cayman. The 10:30 one is booked already. They do have a 9:30. Do you think booking it on our own,not with DCl, that we would be able to get off the ship and walk to this place and be there by 9:00? We are supposed to dock at 7:30.

I could not sleep, so I get up at 5:00 on a Saturday to come talk to everyone before my fun filled day of painting and no one is talking.

Does anyone have and recommendations on restaurants to eat lunch at in Grand Cayman. We were looking at Hard Rock but I think that all depends on which sub ride time we get. I want to book the sub today before the next round of ressie open up.

I am almost willing to try a little hole in the wall type place that the locals like. It would have to be in George town though.

I think I am truly going to be all alone. I have been talking with DH through his pager but he is getting ready to start his commute so now I am on my own.

Maybe it is time for some hot tea.

Talked with some people we know that went on there first cruise/disney cruise. Several family members went along. They all had great fun except one of the brothers. He had motion sickness all week long. Had a terrible time and wasnt able to do anything. He refuses to go on another cruise. He has never gotten motion sickness before and was surprised that he had problems.

I also have never had motion sickness before but its my first cruise and would hate for this to happen. Does anyone take anything before they go on the cruise or during the cruise to not get motion sickness. If so what do you take? Any side effects to what you take?

Just waking up myself, getting ready for work. I wish I was painting!

I am not painting for me. My DD and I are going to go help with a project through the church today. It is painting a ladies porch. She can no longer do that type of thing. We started it 3 weeks ago and are going back this morning to finish it. Why they pick the summer to do projects like this is beyond me.

Sorry Mark, I have never been bothered by this, but my mother sometimes does and she wears this cloth wristbands that have a plastic bead on the inside of them. They are supposed to apply light pressure to a spot on your wrist. Some thing to do with pressure points. Those seem to work really well for her. I have also seen people with sea sickness patches behind their ears.

You can get patches to put behind your ears from your Dr.

You can use wrist sea bands.

My daughter gets motion sickness badly. She took dramamine (non-drowsy! you won't feel so fatigued). You should start taking it a day or so ahead of of the cruise, throughout the cruise and even a day or so after because when you get off the ship, you still feel like your moving.

Once you start feeling the motion sickness, it's hard to overcome.

Hi Mark,

I'm a little concerned about Kristin and the motion sickness too. She gets car sick just driving a few blocks. Funny thing is, is that she never gets sick if she is driving.

We are planning on bringing Ginger Candies, Non-Drowsy Dramamine (although she insists it makes her drowsy), her patches and some green apples. Jesse's dad is an Acupuncturist and will give Kristin some "Bullets" before she leaves.

I don't know about DCL but I have seen them sold in the gift shops on ships before. If we are talking about the same kind that my mom uses. She also used to find them at Walmart, but can not find them there anymore.

In answer to Cinnimike's QotD from yesterday:

Cabo will be left in the yard all week long by himself to protect all the mail and packages that arrive while we are gone.

OK, seriously, Cabo will be staying at the Animal Motel which is only about a mile or two from our house. We've toured the place and are quite pleased with the way it looks. It also comes highly recommended by others.

We're paying for an extra large, indoor/outdoor access private kennel. He'll get extra playtime with the employees too. Now whether or not that really happens, we'll never know.
