Mark Here

We have a long list to deal with....

The dogs, Molly and Avelanche, will be going to the vets kennel. Kind of funny when we get home they are horse from barking so much and they sleep for several days.

Cat, Chubbers - We usually leave plenty of water and food out for her so she can make it at home for the week. She really looks for attention when we get back. She is our attack cat incase someone comes around the house. Yea right!!!

Bearded Dragon, Phoenix - Will most likely need to go to Janices sisters house. He needs his greens and his crickets pretty much every day.

Guinea Pig, Jingles - He will probably go to Janices sister also.

Hi Mark,

I'm a little concerned about Kristin and the motion sickness too. She gets car sick just driving a few blocks. Funny thing is, is that she never gets sick if she is driving.:confused3

We are planning on bringing Ginger Candies, Non-Drowsy Dramamine (although she insists it makes her drowsy), her patches and some green apples. Jesse's dad is an Acupuncturist and will give Kristin some "Bullets" before she leaves.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Same here...never been sick before but I would hate for it to happen on the cruise. I plan on doing something but just looking my options. Acupuncture...never thought of that one before.

If we will be taking a taxi in Cozumel can we pay with american money or do we need to exchange for mexico money

Carrie, I believe you can use good old American money in Cozumel. I've asked this question before and popular consensus says we can. Now, this doesn't mean I'm correct so if anyone else knows better, plz respond.

Good morning everyone  I haven't been here all week so I am way behind here again, I just don't seem to have enough hours in the day lately :confused3 to even get to our thread here. It was another crazy week at work but I only have one more crazy week like that this week and then I am back to my normal work hours  I just have a very short time to stop in here today and then we are off to the WI State Fair today and tomorrow we are having a wedding shower for my niece who is getting married the week before the cruise so we have a busy weekend.

Have I missed anything important here this week?

Cheryl

Carrie we used American dollars last year for the taxis we took in Cozumel. Not a problem in fact someone told us they like American money.

Very Sad News From Linda And Family

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just received a post card from Linda. I'll quote it word for word:

Nancy, I'm writing to let you know our house was flooded Fri 20th-July. Up to waist height in sewage water. We have lost everything down stairs, lounge, kitchen, study, utility, dining room. Ellies house/toys in garden. Firefighters had to resuce our neighbors by life boat! We will be out of our house for 6-9 months. We are in hotel at present. Looking for place to rent-but then so are 100's of other families! What a nightmare! Please let others know I hope to be on line by Oct, but I don't know my DIS info. (It was on my favorites on the lap top). We have to put our upstairs stuff in storage-as looters have been in the street! What with Ellies moving schools & now this, I will so need this cruise.

Love Linda, Wayne & Elouise.

At least we saved our DIsney, wedding & baby photos!

Please keep Linda in your thoughts and prayers KK's!!

SORRY, I TYPED THAT SO FAST THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO PROOF. I WENT BACK TO CORRECT 2 HOURS LATER

You may want to read back a few posts as some of the KK's have had some fabulous ideas to help out Linda and her family.

Have fun at the fair today. I think you picked the best day to go. It doesn't look like it'll be too hot today and the sun is hiding behind the clouds.

We're going Monday.

Hi Mark and Nancy I see you guys have been talking about motion sickness. Rachel gets carsick but has never had aproblem on the Magic. I have given here Dramamine for excursions when we are going on a smaller boat. Definitely use the non-drowsy Dramamine if you use that, Nancy she'll agree with Kristin that it still makes her drowsy but nothing like the regular does. She has also worn the wrist bands. I think we did get them at Walgreens. I too have heard that ginger is good for motion sickness but we have never tried this. We bought some ginger candies at the World Market store but they were very strong tasting and she didn't like them.

In answer to Cinnimike's QotD from yesterday:

Cabo will be left in the yard all week long by himself to protect all the mail and packages that arrive while we are gone.:lmao:

OK, seriously, Cabo will be staying at the Animal Motel :dogdance: which is only about a mile or two from our house. We've toured the place and are quite pleased with the way it looks. It also comes highly recommended by others.

We're paying for an extra large, indoor/outdoor access private kennel. He'll get extra playtime with the employees too. Now whether or not that really happens, we'll never know.

somehow i knew cabo would get the same "baby" treatment that robin gives candy. i wanted to leave the dog alone with just enough food and water for the week and if she ate it all that was her problem.(just kidding animal protection league) but robin said NO.

Hi Mark I'll tell Al or Rachel to have that cream puff for you. I actually don't like them. I know that's hard to believe who doesn't like Stae Fair cream puffs?

Robin here...

Well, we're off for the night.

I'm going to talk Mike into giving me a massage.

(That'll save me $75:laughing: )

you know the deal sweetie. i give you a massage and then you let me get a massage from cinnamon.:rolleyes1

Nancy thanks for letting me know this. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes, how awful for Linda and her family  I will definitely be praying for her and sending her loads of pixiedust:
I will definitely go back later or tomorrow to check out how we can help Linda.

Janice here. I'm with you Cheryl, I don't care for cream puffs either. I was thinking that Nancy wrote a couple of days ago, when she was talking about going to the fair on Monday, I thought she said she didn't like them either.
Now other non healthy fair food, I really like.
Hearing you guys going to the fair, really bums me out, we have been going the last few years on the second weekend, but this year Bryce has a Soccer tournament, so no fair for us this year.
Have fun

Nancy, I also get carsick sometimes but I do MUCH better when I drive myself. So when I say to Rob, can I drive? He knows just to let me!

Mark, I was worried my first cruise about being seasick. I got onboard and it was NOTHING! By the time I got used to it (about 7 hours) I was hoping for some rough seas cus I loved the motion!!!

Wow, you have more animals than we do! ::yes:: We had to get rid of Slinky, our second cat...he's very happy though, he's on a farm now and has lots of freedom. Goofy, the other cat and our two dogs Lilo & Stitch will be looked after by our wonderful dog walker! We hired her when I was HUGELY pregnant cus I couldn't walk them anymore and have kept up with Friday walks just because the dogs love being with her and her pack. I wish I had the money to have her walk them everyday! They come home on walk days and pass out for 5-6 hours! :cloud9:

You two are going to be trouble for us now aren't you?? We're all gonna have to keep an eye on the two of you trouble makers! ::yes:
