I can see it now.........the website will be down because all the KKers are trying to book their reservations at once!!!:surfweb: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We are doing the Dolphin Encounter in Cozumel, but I booked that on my own.
We are doing the Stingray City & Snorkel in GC but I also booked that on my own.

We won't be doing Palo this cruise so all I have to do on the 22nd is book the parasail for CC and reserve some time in Flounders for Kira.

And since I am up anyway, I will be doing it at 2am EST :rolleyes1

These are the two excursions that we want to do. Why did you book them on your own (if you don't mind my asking)???

Well, I gotta run. Time to leave work and take the littliest man to swim lessons. I'll check back tonight! Bye:flower3:

These are the two excursions that we want to do. Why did you book them on your own (if you don't mind my asking)???

Several reasons:

1- Disney charges more than local operators for the exact same excursion.
2- Disney only has certain times for certain excursions, whereas local operators have a wider variety.
3- Disney does not allow children under 3 on their excursions but the local operators do.
4- I like doing things on my own. I'm not a follower, I like to have a little more freedom.

Some people do not feel the same way, some like the comfort of knowing that you are on a Disney tour and no matter what happens, the ship won't leave without you if you are on a Disney tour. I have been to all the ports except for Key West and I feel very comfortable going on my own. I make sure that we have ample time to get back to the ship and for us with a baby, we need to do things our way, not Disney's way.

It's a personal choice, we feel comfortable in new surroundings, I know some people are petrified when they go out of their areas and just feel better letting Disney handle all the details.

Hope that helps!

Enjoy your time with you daughter

oh they are having fun. they always do this little dance. they have done their dance for years at wdw, restraunts, rest stops,.. you name it.
these two are like watching an episode of the Gilmore girls. like best friends:thumbsup2

UK friends,

I just heard on the radio that they are predicting a chance of frost next week in central England!! Could that be possible?--absolutely crazy!!

I just now heard about these message boards and was so suprised to see the cruise we are going on to have a thread! Woohoo! We have been planning for two years now. This is our second cruise. Our first one was Oct 04 on the Wonder.

We are in room 8516 and will be traveling with our two boys as well as my nephews...who are 18 & 20 and need to remember how to be a kid sometimes. We loved our last cruise and hope that with the extra couple of days we can fit everything in this time. hahahahahahaha

Hi Susan! Welcome. I'm mostly a lurker around here but wanted to say hi. I have a DS8 and a DD5 on the cruise.

Evening all!

Abby - I logged on about 330am this morning, and didn't have problems. I too noticed at first that I couldn't access the online registration, but by 400am, that opened up too.

I got the kids registered for the kids club (keeping fingers crossed Sammie will be completely potty trained!), booked a Palo dinner and brunch, got John's parents a brunch too, some shore excurions and looked through the online registration. Whew! Hard to do that early in the morning, completely bleary eyed!

Having a time conflict on Grand Cayman for 2 of the excursions. There's an hour wait in between, so I'm not sure where the time conflict comes in, but it wouldn't let me book both. We may decide to book something on our own. Might just jump in a cab and run over to the turtle farm separately. We absolutely adored GC the last time we were there, and felt very comfortable about the island (unlike Cozumel, scary!)

I've decided to not participate in distag. There's just too much stuff going on, it's been really hard to keep up lately. Not going to go into details, and we're all fine, so no worries! It will just be easier if I opt out now!

Anyone planning on the Castaway Ray's Stingray excursion? We signed up for the earliest one at 10am. I've heard it's better to do an earlier one, as the water's not too churned up. I love feeding the stingrays at SeaWorld.

Well, enough chatting for now! Have a good night!
Tina

Tina-

I'm glad you got everything booked. We have one more passport we're waiting on so other than updating that info, we got the on-line stuff done. I did Palo brunch, dinner and the Cayman Island Tour and Butterfly Farm. I love love love Cayman. The only other time I've been there was for an 8 day scuba diving trip 11 years ago. I'd love to dive but it's just not feasible with the kids.

We're trying to decide if we want to do any other excursions. Definitely not doing one on Key West. Can't decide on any for Cozumel.

Abby

Good evening everyone. I just put Harrison to bed. We have been sitting on the couch together. He just wanted to sit beside me and have me go nowhere!! That's fine with me, it was a nice change just to sit and watch TV.:goodvibes
Where is everyone?:confused3

 Welcome Susan and family!! I am also mostly a lurker unless the topics of wine, tennis, or half-naked roofers come up. :lmao: I will be traveling with my husband and two sons, ages 5 & 10. Trying to convince my in-laws to come with, but no such luck yet. See you around the boards.

Welcome to the group. We are a fun loving group of people. Glad you can jump right in. I am traveling with my DH, 3 kids, and my parents. My kids are 5, 11, and 12. Can not wait to get to know you.

Thanks for the info Cass. :thumbsup2 At quick glance I can see that they definitely charge less than DCL! I've mentioned it to the DH and he is willing to discuss going on our own. Just one question.........Do you use the Disney tender to get to the island and then when you are ready to come back are they just there waiting? (We have never been to a port where we had to be tendered). Do "shuttles" run every few minutes back to the ship?:teleport: Thanks!!
