Not looking to correct the teacher (who am I kidding, I always love to call out the teacher or the boss) but there are only 36 inches in a yard. There are approx. 39 inches in a metre.

Oh and by the way, if you talk to some men (like Chris) they believe a foot consists of only about 5-7 inches. :scared1: :lmao:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I loved page 999!!!!!!
Does anyone know what time the Pirate excursion is on Grand Cayman?
We are arriving last Oct. 18th. Magic Kingdom on Friday!!!!!

There are two excursions. Let me check the Navigators and I will let you know the meeting times.

Although, Chris, Susan, Tina and Abby could look it up online since they can book right now.

Be back in a bit with the answer.

Cass - what am I doing wrong - why are my pictures always so big??

I am supposed to copy over the IMG code line from Photobucket arent I?

That's weird since Photobucket says that the biggest image you can use is 800x600 but your pics are bigger than that! I upload mine full size usually and they automatically get reset to 800x600. If you look above your pic, there is an edit button, click on that and then click on size, you can choose your size there. Hope that helps!

Did someone just volunteer Chuck to babysit. Does that mean AFEG is off the hook.

We've already established that when you need babysitting, you can just drop your kids off at Chris' room! There's lots of crawling/walking space for Kira so it works for us :rolleyes1 :lmao:

This is a question for all the Canada people

When cooking what type of measurments do you use. Is it teaspoon and tablespoon or is it something else.

In Canada we use the metric system just like in Britain but we only started in the early 1970s. So our cars drive 100kilometers/hour, we love it when its 32 degrees celcius, and we weigh in grams and kilograms.

There are still some Canadians that use the older Imperial method and many people use a combination of both. For example, I think of cold temperatures better in Celsius (I understand -10 degrees C better than I understand 20 degrees F) but for hot temperatures I am better in Farenheit (90 degrees F means more than 30 degrees C). I weigh myself in pounds but I understand distance best in metres and kilometres. Its twisted and confusing. The next generation will have been in Metric their whole lives so they will only think that way.

We still use teaspoons and tablespoons for measurements in cooking as well. There are 3 teaspoons for every tablespoon. 1 Teaspoon is 5 millilitres.

For kids - metric is great as most things are based on 100. 100 centimetres to 1 metre (vs having to remember 12 inches in a foot or 39 inches in a yard).

Great web site for conversion is: http://www.onlineconversion.com/

Math Lesson 101 is over for the day.

Well done Jessalynn!! (insert applause smilie)

The navigator from our January cruise has two meeting times: 8:15 and 10:30. I think it is a 2 1/2 hour tour (hopefully not a 3 hour tour on the SS Minnow)

It's another scorcher today...and it's supposed to get hotter in the next 4-5 days :scared:  :sad2:

Excuse me while I pass out. :faint:

We are leaving on October 9th, getting in late at 9:45pm. Spending 10 days at Disney then staying the night in Cocoa Beach on the 19th. Hopefully meeting up with Brenda & Jason on the 17th. Maybe we can sneak them into our luggage and onto the ship! :rolleyes1 I think technically we are allowed 6 suitcases between the 3 of us, we are only taking 4...that's two extra cases for them! They can fit in there! :woohoo:

I guess we will try to get the 8:15. I want to do some island tour afterwards. By the way.......can I be Ginger?

A little bit of good news finally

Looks like we found a new place to live finally!! So it looks like we may be moving on August 26th :dance3: Date is not set in stone just yet

Then I can finally unpack and maybe find the DIS tag gifts I bought 4 months ago :lmao:

Congrats!!!! Post pics soon. I know what you mean about finding things. I don't have my house packed and I will have to hunt for my things.:rotfl:

OK, I just checked, and the Pirate Encounter is at 815, and 1015.

Good for you Cass - I'll keep my fingers, toes, and whatever else I can get crossed for you!

I stand (well actually sit) corrected. See what I mean - I am equally confused in both metric and imperial. Which reminds me that I just got a new car and it has the button to switch between Canadian and US measurements. It calls them Metric and Standard?? Am I wrong again, isnt the American measurement system called Imperial - or did they change the name?

you have to feel sad for the guys who think a foot is only 2-3 inches.:confused3

OOPS = sorry not correct. I forgot the official word - SIZE DOESNT MATTER.

This one is cracking me up for some reason:

It does two things so watch it.

I think they've added new ones. Either that, or I just don't remember them.
