Hi everyone! My family just booked our first Disney cruise. Two sons age 5 & 10 at time of sailing. Anyone have great ideas for excursions for us?

Ok Ok i think ive caught up.......... kind of !:confused3

Welcome to our cruise thread Scouter and Chibben2003:welcome: :rainbow: :jumping1: we are a crazy but very friendly lot here.

Chris. sorry you had a crappy week, glad you could make an old ladies day, by attending the funeral. These things often are so important to others, and you made a horrible day bearable. Good on you.

Cass the picture of Kira is sooooo cute, I agree with Karen, keep her away for us, cos we might just want to smuggle her back to the UK, she is adorable!

Paige asked what the REAL Engand looks like, so I took a few photos of where I live and of Brighton pier and seafront ( about 14 miles south of my parents house) It seemed weird taking photos, cos I lived there for so long, and never really took much notice of the beauty around me.
Sadly it rained on soe days I took photos, so they are a bit dark, but I guess this shows how it really is..... not sadly the sunny bright pictures of Florida.

This is my parents house, where I use to live.

The local "green" and war memorial

The local pub where I use to try and get served at 15!
It now does lovely sunday lunches there, and its lovely to sit out in the pub garden, have a few drinks and stagger home ! :thumbsup2

Here is Brighton pier. Its kind of old now and a bit worn down, but it holds great childhood memories for me. Of me and my grandparents eating fish and chips on the pier, and me being worried I might fall through the minature gaps in the piers floor!!! Not any chance of that now ! :rotfl2:

DSCF0061.jpg

Heres the Clocktower in the centre of Brighton, (got in the English Red double decker ! :thumbsup2 )

DSCF0068-1.jpg

Here are the start of Brightons "Lanes" in the old area of the town. Its fully of unique shops, boutiques and trendy food places. A great place to people watch, and when Wayne and I come her we spend hours watching people go by ( Brighton is very cosmpolitain and has a high % of gay people, so its very trendy, anything go's kind of place!)

Here, in the distance is a picture of the pavillion, which Brighton is famous for, my battery on the camera died, before we got to the front. Its very beautiful. It was originally a farmhouose, and John Nash built it as a palace 1815 to 1822 for Prince Regent. It reminds me of an "ice gem" biscuit. Its an indian Moghuls palace with pinnacles and Minarets. Inside its preserved and very lavish with painted ceilings etc.

The last picture is of the local church, where my parents got married over 44 yrs ago. ! not quite as good as Chris's relatives, but then, as far as I know my Mum hasnt got a lover! ;)

DSCF0074-3.jpg

The small town is still very traditional and Mum enters into the local jam making competition, Dad the biggest carrot contest etc ( much to my embarassment!)

Paige, is this what you thought England would be like ? Not a castle in sight !!!!

Now I REALLY must get on to type that school letter!!

Hi winediva !!!:welcome:

I'm not sure on trips, but wanted to let you know we have a daughter Elouise who will be 5 on the cruise. Also Karen has a son Ellis who will be 7. There is a kids thread as well, that the kids can chat on. Why not get your 10 year old on there. He will certainly make friends before the cruise .:thumbsup2

there is alot of Dissers on this cruise, more the merrier!!1:dance3: :dance3:

Hi Wine Diva - love the name;) - we all like a glass or 2 or 5 or 9:eek:
Welcome to the cruise. Yep as Lindy says we both have little ones Lindy -dd of 5 and my ds of 7 so your ds should be able to pal up with them. We'll have to get them typing on the kids link nearer the time - it'll take Ellis a week for one sentance so be prepared to wait:rotfl:

Chibben 2003 - welcome too! - I missed your post so good job Lindy posted a welcome for me to see - sorry:guilty:

Lindy - welcome back - we missed you. IT WAS VERY QUIET ON HERE. Loved your piccies. I love Brighton - only been twice but enjoyed it.
We had an acceptable offer today on the house:banana: - we're trying to shove her up a few grand before we bite her hand off:rotfl:

Chris - pm'd you - I'm starting an "I hate Minnie campaign". So far theres only one member - me!:lmao:

Well, thats all for me folks - good night

ps - do the smilies on the left keep changing or am I going mad????? I like the little waving hand one and it used to be there but now is on the "more" bit?

Well, that's more like it. I was glad to see there is much to read today!!:cool1:

Linda, great pics! That's what I was wanting to see. It looks like a great place to grow up and the pub looks a whole lot better than the bars I was trying to get into when I was 15! In Louisiana, we actually had "drive-thru" daiquiri shops (they're still there I think), and we never got checked for I.D. I don't know how our parents didn't go crazy....Anyway, I appreciate you taking those pics. I hope to get to England one day. Maybe one of those new "big boats" will stop there and I will use that as my excuse to cruise!

Welcome, Chibben and WineDiva!!:welcome:

OK, so I am off for the next few hours, but I thought I'd leave y'all with this....

I know this has been posted on other threads....but....what do you think the new ships should be named? My DH votes for "Fantasy" and "Miracle." I think it'll be a miracle if we can afford it.:lmao: I think "Fantasy" stays in theme with "Wonder" and "Magic". I vote for "Fantasy" and "Dreams."

What say you?:confused3

A 3am bump from England, cos I cant sleep !!!!

Now Ive told myself if I dont go to sleep soon, I will have to do some ironing, that MUST get me off!!!

Karen, yes the smilies do change and it really confusses me ! ( I know it doesnt take much to get me muddled! )

Hi Wine Diva,

Welcome to our cruise family. We live in Franklin, not to far up the road from you.. My husband works down in Racine and Kenosha

Well folks tonight Kaitie, my dd, and Rachel, cherl's dd, decided to meet. They are currently out for pizza with Al, cheryl's dh, then will come back here for the night. Tommorrow we are taking them and DD's best friend and fellow cruisemate Markie to bowl. This way all the kids can get to know each other

Have a great night
