I agree. On my last trip I was fairly successful in modifying my FP and getting decent FP after using my first three. I was also able to get good ADRs at the last minute.
Bear in mind that it is much easier for one person to navigate a crowded park than it is a group that is trying to remain together. Also, if there are long lines for your must-do attractions and you are unable to get FP, you don’t have to answer to anyone if you choose to get in line and wait.
If your concern is that you will feel self-conscious, it is unlikely that anyone will notice that you are alone. Who cares if they do anyway; you don’t know them and are unlikely to ever see them again. If your concern is loneliness, you can keep in touch with your friends and family by phone, text, and video chats. Make plans for how you will occupy your time when you are alone (standing in lines, waiting for shows, waiting for meals to be served, etc.). You could read a book, catch up on social media, or play games.
Most of my trips have been with my family, but recently I have had more solo trips. I almost prefer solo trips now because I’m only responsible for making myself happy.
