Starting to plan a group trip for next year. Is there any difference in crowd levels the first or second week of October?

October is busy for the Halloween events.

We've been during GayDays and the parks were very busy.
We've also been during Columbus Day holiday and we were shocked how busy it was.

There really isn't a slow time in the parks these days. I hear the only thing that keeps the crowds down is rain/bad weather.

We have been at Halloweentime 3 times and will be there again Oct 2017. Evening get extremely crowded. You need to use morning hours to do the rides and absolutely get on Haunted Mansion Holiday early. Then use FP as much as possible in afternoons and evenings. Expect it to be busy all the time other than about first 2 hours of each day. But renjoy the gorgeous decorations and vibe, I love it!

Our district had yesterday (Wed Oct 12) off for Yom Kipur (although they call it a fall recess) and it was very busy. Critter Country being closed probably didn't help, but the crowds out and about reminded me of a Saturday. I was kind of shocked.

I would say first week of October would be better, but doubtful.

Great info Mahalo

I was there the first week and I thought that though it was by no means empty or low crowds it was not terribly crowded or unmanageable aside from when party guest were arriving while regular day guests were still in the park.

This week I am hearing a lot of reports about massive crowds. That is totally subjective info but you can take that for what its worth.
