Way to Boomer! We pull out the 18th so we should be able to sneak in a handshake.

Oct 2-5 and again Oct 15-18- tenting with varying family members.

Work load picking up already for fall. :crazy2: Still going in Oct., just not as long. New dates are Oct. 9 - Oct. 17

Planning a March getaway to the Fort now.

Hey Vince, we matching up now. Coffee's on me this time.

Oct 8-15
First camping trip to WDW. In out motor home.

Coffee's on me this time.

Sounds good, we will be arriving in Cocoa on the 8th and staying the night there, then heading out early for the Fort. Hope to be checking in and setting up around 8:30, if a site is available. :worship:

I'll be about 24 hours behind you. You still drinking the Folgers?

I thought I would be 24 hours behind you but I'll drive through the night again leaving the evening of the 8th. If it's like last time I arrived around 0900 so about the same time.

I got K-cups, varying flavors but Folgers as well.

Where you able to get a site when you arrived that early? That is what DW and I are hoping for, since we will be arriving early Friday morning.

The answer to your question is, "It Depends!"

If you are waiting for a "SPECIFIC" site, then your chances of getting to your site early are less. It all boils down to if someone was on the site right before you have it reserved. If no one was on the site and it has already been cleaned up, then they will give it to you right away. If someone was on it and they have to clean it up (which they will do for ALL the sites after visitors depart), then it could be much later.

If you are less "Fussy" about the site you want (i.e. not a specific site number or even loop, just a specific site type such as preferred or premium, etc..) then your chances go up, as they will put you in a site as soon as one that meets the criteria is ready.

Last time we were there, we checked in and had our site by 9 AM. Your mileage may, of course, vary.

Bummer, we will be camping at Kissimmee State Park in October (9th-12th). Trust me, I would rather be at the Fort, but I have to give in to the DH every once and a while. Will be at the Fort in November and December, so I can't complain too much.

Vince,
Yes we were. The assigned site was not ready but i was offered to go to a premium that was open. The CM actually gave me map and told me which sites were open and I was able to choose. I assume these were sites not already assigned.

Hey, you doing parks on arrival day?

Don't think so. I planned on just setting up and hanging out the Fort. DD 8 has been talking about the "Big Water Slide" at meadows for about the past 3 months, so you will probably fined me there. I know you said you like to get in and do a set up and then take a siesta till about noon. We will be doing the GAG that night for diner and then heading to DTD for a good cigar from Sosa.

We won't be "parking" arrival day either. Last trip I was jacked up on Mt. Dew when I arrived (leading to a blurred arrival pic that Ed insisted was due to my driving). If we leave as soon as my daughter gets home from school I may stop overnight near Tallahassee then finish the trip in that morning. Just depends but I usually just like to stay on the road and get it over with.

I usually just like to stay on the road and get it over with.

I like to stay on the road also, usually takes about 26 hrs. with minor traffic delays, fuel and restroom breaks and 1 sit down meal, usually around 3 a.m.
