October 2013 - Car Rental

I should have stated that we are flying into Tampa. Maybe that made the difference. My dates are Nov 5-12 and we are returning the car at MCO. We reserved an Impala type if car for $260

You can also try xz53043 as your contract code. Our disboards resident rental car employee for National posted it recently and said it was a legit code. It gave me a better rate for my October rental than the KLM did. Not alot, but I'm more comfortable with it. I also added the entertainment coupon too.

Thank you I saved so much with this code I will keep stalking the boards though for a better rate. Going the end of October :cool1:

I just used contract ID:xz53043 and got a mid-size car for 8 days at the end of Sept. for $250 which is the lowest I've gotten yet. Just worried that I'm going to need to show something to be approved at this rate using the contract ID :( anyone use it already without any probs?

I just booked a midsize car through National for $283. This is for 8 1/2 days. So far this is the best deal yet. I used KLM's code 8572130 (Flying Blue/air France Klm) so now I guess that I have to join their program!

I'm still holding on to my budget mini van for 7 days $302.84 (X474200) plus I booked using MUWZ023 which hopefully gets me $25 off when I return.

i just tried that code and it was over $800 for an economy car for 8 days. How did you get such a good deal?

I put in those same codes for a mini-van for 9/27 to 10/5..and my total is $1003.19

Big difference for 2 extra days isn't it?

Would you mind sharing what these codes are for? I just used them at Budget and saw some pretty decent rates, too, but am concerned that they're codes I may not be qualified to use. :confused3

It's a travelocity code... anyone can use it. I booked using it around December/February and if I remember correctly, it stopped giving out good rates in March or so. If I plug it in for my dates now, it gives me a high rate also.

It actually gave me fairly decent rates, but only with the pre-paid option. I'm thinking it might be better to not get locked in at this point in case we find a better deal closer to the trip. :scratchin

A little help for a car renting newbie! I'm trying to help my sister with a rental from 10/5--->10/12. Pick up and drop off at MCO. She says compact car would be fine. Anyone care to run some numbers for me? I'm not seeing many good deals....but kind of overwhelmed with all the codes, etc:worried:

It's still much too early for any real deals. Prices generally fall between 2 and 6 weeks out.

I am looking to book a 7 passenger mini van for Oct 18-26th (picking up from Orlando airport) and I started playing around with codes in this thread. I am looking at Budget and National only.

Budget Travelocity code (X474200) the $25 off code (MUWZ023) gave me a price of $727 (Canadian).

National KLM code (8572130) gave me a price of $348.
National Compass Group ? (xz53043) code gave me a price of $388.

I joined the KLM/Flying Blue program (it's free) as other posts said you should do this in order to get the KLM code, just in case they ask for it, but I don't think that joining this program lets me use the KLM code. When I entered the KLM code on the website I put it under "Contract ID". So from what I understand, the code is a deal that National has with KLM- Royal Dutch Airlines for their employees. As well, the xz53043 code is a Compass Group code I believe. Now, I don't work for either of these companies and I am nervous to book with these codes thinking I am getting a great deal only to have the price jacked up at the counter. Has anyone ever used these codes? Have you been asked for any type of ID? Has anyone had any problems with these codes?

If you are planning on renting from Budget, one tip I've found is picking up at the Doubletree near DTD will cut your rate almost by half in some cases. Their Budget location code is M0(zero)3.

I too have the national code for KLM right now. I am nervous that is won't work. But on the other hand, many have had no issues with this. I plan on coming with my membership card in hand. It never hurts to call national if you are worried about the code. This is the first I have seen the "compass" rate. Nor do I know what it is for.
