***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

I need some help from my fellow October dissers... Our original dates were the 14-21, but with FD, we have changed them to Sept 29-Oct 7 which isn't a huge change but for some reason it has my tummy in knots! Is it just bc it wasn't our first choice? I don't know much about this week so maybe someone can enlighten me a bit and make me feel better. My DH thinks I'm crazy! I know that it's hurricane season and why 2 weeks makes a big difference I'm not sure. Just looking for some advice from others who know!

I just did the exact same thing - even same orignal & new as you and am feeling that way too!!!

Can you change our dates, we were originally set for Oct. 21st to the 27th, but will now be at BLT Sept 30 - Oct 2nd, then at BCV from Oct 2nd to the
7th.

Can't wait, we went this week for our honeymoon in 2009 and had really low crowds during the week (the weekend was another story).

we had to change our dates cause of hubbys work, but not by much! Oct 15th-22nd!! :cool1: i cant believe next month i can make our resvies for the restaurants! :cool1::woohoo: im so excited to go i can hardly stand it!!

I've added anyone who requested or anyone I saw with dates/resort listed! And I changed whoever needed changing. That sounds weird LOL.

Don't be worried! This will be the second time I'm going the first week of Oct. The weather was perfect last time and the crowds were pretty low. The weekends tend to be busier. Don't even give hurricane season a second thought. If you were going on a cruise or staying on the Florida coast line, it would be a concern, but not so much in central FL. It does rain but it clears up as quickly as it starts. This week is as good as any!

We went in spetember last year and i have been worried about the crowds on the weekends in october too. We walked on the to the rides last year nd got free dining. I waz considering switching our dates from oct to sept. The free dining is such a bonus but i am hoping that they will offer it for oct too.

I'm with you! I've been in Sept (although it was earlier in the month) and it was empty but just too hot! I really love October just hoping for the free dining offer then too!

I didn't see our dates added to the list. We will be honeymooning at POFQ from 10/11-10/20 and AKL Club Level 10/20- 10/23. Thank you! I can't believe how fast the time is going by!

We will be there near that same time...time is passing but not fast enough :wizard:. Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

Please add us too! My 40th birthday girl's trip. 10/22-10/27 at All Star Movies. Heading to Universal/Island of Adventures for a couple days before hand too. Can't wait!

I have been toying with this idea too...are you doing HHN? Are you staying onsite?

Nice! We don't qualify for FD since we're renting points. I checked what it would be at AKL just because and we're getting a better deal anyway! :goodvibes

We just switched our reaort from pofq to csr. Dh wanted to stay there last time so since we are celwbrating his bday, i switched it. I really love pofq so i hope we aren't disappointed. Any suggestions on it? Which building is the moat accessible to the bus stop?

My friend has two days free stay in Orlando so we are using those two days for our Universal portion, not staying onsite. If we didn't have the free lodging, I'd definitely consider it as the early entry and express pass would be wonderful. It shouldn't be terribly packed though so I'm hoping we can get everything done we want to on a two day park pass. Not doing HHN this time around. My 8 yo DD is going with us and that is definitely not her thing, probably not mine either if you come down to it!!

Thanks so much!
Yes, makes sense--- 7pm closings.

Hmmm noticed MK is open til 10 many nites in Mid Sept ... wonder if theyr'e expecting higher attendance. :confused3
In the past when we've gone in Sept it's only been open til 9

I'm in ... if you wouldn't mind, please add me for Oct 11-18 at Ft Wilderness!

This will be our 5th Food & Wine Fest trip in the last 6 years. This year I really want to check out the Swan/Dolphin Food&Wine Classic (Oct 12/13). I've heard nothing but good things, so this year's trip has been planned around those dates

Question about ADR's. We usually plan a trip rather spur of the moment, a month maybe two out so I've never had the luxury of getting dining reservations 180 days out. My question is my 180 days is April 25th (I think!) for our stay Oct 22-27th. Will I be able to make all my reservations on the 25th for the entire stay or will I have to do it one each day, 180 days out from each day. TIA!
