***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

As long as the hotel has availability for free dining, switching your dates shouldn't be a problem. Be prepared to wait on hold for awhile though! Disney's hold times are very long when free dining is announced. Changing your ticket is no problem at all. I'm a TA, I'm constantly calling Disney for changes & they make things very easy!

Let us know when you start your PTR!

Thanks for the info!!:) I'll definately be doing that then!
Also, I posted my ptr!! It should be below on my signature!! Have a great night!

I think MNSSHP tickets are usually released in the spring, around April or May. And airlines usually allow you to book about 9 or 10 months out. I think JetBlue just opened up dates through June.

I have a list of restaurants I want to try that I need to narrow down. Heather, I'm posting them for your benefit so you can get an idea for some restaurants! The places in bold are places I really want to try.

Ohana
Via Napoli
Biergarten
Le Cellier
Be Our Guest - depends on the menu! It's not even open yet!
Crystal Palace
Chefs de France
Garden Grill
Teppan Edo
Cape May Cafe
Tusker House
Whispering Canyon Cafe
50s Primetime Cafe
Maya Grill
Raglan Road
Captain's Grille
Boma
Narcoosee's
t-Rex Cafe

I completely forgot about Be Our Guest! I've been looking forward to it since I heard about it. I really hope the menu is good. Do you think it will be a french themed restaurant? I cant imagine how they would do that for the counter service in the day. Frog legs maybe? :lmao:

haha ew. I"d pass on frogs less! Poor kermie! ;) :lmao:

I am SOOOO hoping that the Fantasyland will be ready for our trips in October 2012! Everything points to "late 2012". It's a big reason why I postponed from May (also weather!) to Sept 30-Oct 10!

I love Beauty and the Beast! The whole new fantasyland looks amazing! (yes I have read that the mine train isn't going to be ready till 2013. I'm ok with missing that!)

:cheer2:

I'm really wanting to try out Yak and Yeti this trip. I have heard lots of great reviews for the lo mein, and considering that is one of my favorite foods, I must try it! :)

I was thinking it might be french themed but they already have a french themed restaurant in Epcot. So who knows? :confused3

I'm hoping Be Our Guest will be open by the time we go. The castle is already up so within the next year, I'm sure the restaurant will be open for business.

No mine train til 2013?? I wanted to go on that!!

The timeline was revealed by Walt Disney Imagineer Scott Mallwitz in an interview with Inside the Magic. While Disney has previously only announced that the expansion will open in phases "by 2013", the new set of dates shows that the full area will not be operational until late in that year.

The full set of target opening windows is:
•Now - the Hundred Acre Wood facade for the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride is already open.
•Early 2012 - half of the new Storybook Circus area will open, featuring side-by-side Dumbo the Flying Elephant rides, along with the rebranded Barnstormer - hosted by the Great Goofini rollercoaster, Fantasyland Train Station and Casey Jr train ride.
•Late 2012 - Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid ride, Be Our Guest restaurant, Beauty and the Beast village, Belle meet-and-greet, Castle wall
•Early 2013 - the rest of Storybook Circus will open, featuring Pete’s Silly Sideshow (full details of which are yet to be revealed).
•Late 2013 - the debut of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train rollercoaster, the last of the new additions to be announced.

(this was just posted on September 1st this year)

Thanks Heather! I'm hoping "late 2012" means by the end of September. Fingers crossed!

Totally!!! I'm there Sept 30-Oct 10. This would be MY defination of "late" in the year. But I guess we'll see. They won't give actual dates because then if they have any delays guests will be mad that planned their visit for the opening dates.

DD and I will be there, most likely the week of the 20th.
The local school seems to usually close a couple of days the last week of October, so this way she'll only miss a couple days of school for a week at WDW.

One of my co-workers may be going with her family, so we'll either be on our own at Pop, or if they get a family suite, we'll tag along with them at whichever All-star they wind up at.

Call me crazy but today is my last day in the 400's!!! Tomorrow will be 399 days until our trip...YAY!:cool1::banana::cheer2:

I totally forgot that "Be Our Guest" might be open for our October trip!

:cool1::banana::yay:

OOOHHH I hope it is!!!!

hahaha that will be a DEFINATE coffee and up at 5am ADR booking! :surfweb:

I got 387 days to go!!!!!! :cheer2:

Agreed! :rotfl: I'm going to be trying for Le Cellier as well so I will definitely be up early on the 45 day mark! :surfweb:

Does anybody have any information on the Little Mermaid ride and what its going to be like? I've heard a lot about the Seven Dwarfs coaster and in my mind its like the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad coaster.

I went to Disneyland this spring and they had a section set up for Little Mermaid previews. It was a dark ride in calm mobiles (sound familiar?) that took you through the story of the Little Mermaid. I'm guessing WDW's will be similar. The one in DL opened this summer so I'm sure there's a youtube video of it somewhere.

I think its like 180 days or something not 45! Make sure you check on that!

Yeah it will be like the DisneyLand ride. Google it because I did see a youtube video of the ride!
