My prince took me to DL for my very first trip in 1969, it was our second anniversary...the rest is history...once or twice a year we head to DL

I have been lurking here for a long time.....finally pulled the trigger for our October trip! It's official! Found great rates on Southwest tonight and purchased our airfare. Excited to join the group!

On a side note...can anyone find to lime green mickey's at Home Depot anymore? I wanted to make tags for our trip. I think our stores in the area got rid of the Disney paint line.

Welcome! Our home depot does not have the mickey heads. I have not checked Lowe's, yet. Does anyone know the size for the traditional DISer mickey head if we have to make one from scratch?

I am open to suggestions, and tips if you have any.... my boys have never been on an airplane. I have been reading through this website and taking very long notes from others..... (very good website, I have found more information on here then in some of the books I borrowed from the library).

As a side note, some one was asking about the Mickey paint chip heads at Home Depot. We have them still here in Canada, I made a count down calendar for my boys out of them.

You and your boys will have a great time. For flights, make sure they have stuff to keep them busy...depending on what they like...You can bring activity books, portable DVD/player...maybe a new, special toy.

Hello to a fellow Vancouverite!

We went down with my DD6nearly7 last year and to keep her busy we sprung for the inflight entertainment with Westjet. They can watch TV or a movie which will help pass the time. The waiting at the airport can be a bit long for us who have to crossborder fly but there is quite a bit to do at the airport luckily and my DD loved looking at the planes. This year I'm bringing her Nintendo DS. I found the longest part was the shuttle from the airport to the hotel... knowing you are*almost* there seems to make the drive last forever.

Welcome to the boards! You are in the right place. You are correct that this is a way better source than the guidebooks. Be sure to read the sticky thread that includes all the guides by Hydroguy, DLR29, etc. Also, there are lots of Canucks on this site who can help you with any questions unique to Canada.

Home Depot doesn't seem to have the Disney paint line anymore here in Oregon either.

As for the airplane entertainment ideas, we had sticker books from the dollar store, colouring books and crayons (just the packs of 4 crayons), and a couple small toys. Every 30-60 minutes they'd get a new item to play with. We also got them another couple toys for the shuttle ride (from LAX to our hotel). We'll probably do the same thing this time around (our daughters will be ages 4 and almost 7). Maybe some school-themed books (math, spelling, etc) this time.

Figure I'll pipe up and make it official. We are heading down 10/17(or 18th) until 22nd. Depends on when they announce the Halloween party dates. So excited!

Home Depot doesn't seem to have the Disney paint line anymore here in Oregon either.

I saw on another Disboards thread that all Disney paint chips are no longer available in the US as of late April this year. Our Canadian friends may still be able to get them. Any one have some extras they would like to send my way for our October Trip? . I am so not crafty enought to make my own.
