October 2011...Who's all going? Vacation dates and lodging

Booked our MHP tix - 25th! Staying @ Hojos Oct 21st - Nov 5th for our first ever US Halloween!!

We are going on the 25th, too. As I am catching up this thread, I seem to remember a lot of DIS'ers mentioning attending MHP on the 25th, too. It would be fun to run into other DIS'ers in the parks or at MHP. I will have my LGMH with me in hopes to meet other DIS'ers in October.

I just got back from a DL trip just 10 days ago and now I have the urge to get back to DL. I must be sick or something .

We just bought tickets!! woot! fiance and I are going October 31st. Staying at the Lemon Tree Hotel.

You are on the list!! I got you down for 10/31 to 11/01. Is that right? If not, let me know I will gladly change it to the right dates. You should have a blast. October is always a good time to go to DLR.

Our dates are Oct. 22 until Oct. 25 (Not long enough! ) We are staying at the Crowne Plaza~ Yay!

I have added your travel dates and lodging to the list. I understand how you feel. Whatever number of days I book for our Disney vacation, it never seems long enough. Just came back from a romantic 3 day weekend with DH, and we both decided 3 days are not enough. Next tiem we will try 4 days.

We get there on October 31st. Nothing like waiting until the very last moment! lol Our trip officially starts October 26th but we head to Vegas first and then drive to California on the 31st just in time to take in that nights festivities!

Forgot to mention we will be there from October 31st until November 6th and will be staying at the Desert Inn.

Your info has been added to the list. At least you can see DL decked out in fall decor. The fall is one of my favorite times to visit DLR.

Tomorrow we're meeting with a travel agent and at this point it looks like we're going 10/15 - 10/22.

Theres 9 of us in our group with my family and all. Its a gift to my parents for their 40th anniversary (which is in December). DL is one of their favorite places to take their one and only grandchild. Technically we'll be at DL from 10/15 - 10/19 and then spending the last few days in SD.

Hotel is TBD but it looks like its probably going to be PP.

I am still in the planning stage but will commit this week. I am planning on arriving late on 10/5 and leaving on 10/10. This should give me 4 days in the parks. It will be my 13 year old daughters 1st trip. I am looking at staying at Embassy suites south cause of the breakfast deal We will be travelling from Oregon.

Your travel information has been added, too. Let me know where you will stay and I will add the hotel to your information. Your 13 year old will have a blast. I have two teenage girls myself and they always have a grand time.



With this post, I have officially caught up. I think there are more DIS'ers going to DLR in October than in July. I look forward to adding more Disney travelers to the list.

I think I am more excited than my daughter She has never been and just heard stories so the excitment will be when we walk in on Thursday

You're right about the AP rates, geekypeach - the AP rates have gotten much more ridiculous in the last year or two. They used to be great rates and they were much more predictable and available all year long. But now what happens is that DLR either simply releases fewer AP rates over the course of the year and what you see on the calendar now could just be the typical AP 10% discount, or the AP rates that would be considered "good" hotel rates are still too high. For example, what used to be a night at PPH for $129 or $139 may now have a "good rate" of $215 or some nonsense! And the regular rack rate is well over $300!

I just made my reservations for October 10-14. We are going to stay at the Paradise Pier! I really wanted the DLH but can't swing that this time. I'm so excited!!!! My girls are 5 and 19 months and I can't wait to take them.

Oye, Sherry. It figures that would be my luck being an AP newbie and having never stayed in a Disney property! Oh well, I would never dream of complaining about getting to visit my favorite place, at my favorite time, no less, so I'll take Best Western and I'll take it happily!
