I'm joining the waiting room! I am currently booked for FD for 9/26-9/30 but I really think October is much more feasible. I have a Disney Visa so I am super hoping there is SOME offer out. Jumping through the usual hoops of trying to get a pin as well obviously...

Hi Stupid question from a newbie..... Do you think that once you are booked you have less of a chance of getting a discount code sent to you? They already have you registered??? Also, if you book and the give a general promotion out can you call and change?

We'll be going in OCt. and I'm hesitant to book in case I get a good offer after.

I don't think so actually......I booked my vacation, then received two pin codes, then re-booked a different time, then received another pin code, used that pin code and now have received another pin code!!!

I think that we live in a targeted area for pin codes. I have received many over the years, some I used, some I didn't. Better to book and then change when a code comes out, then not book and not be able to get your resort if and when a code does come out.

I tried desperately to get a pin # this year I had gotton one last year good for the entire year, but no luck, then DH registered for a DVD with a new email addy and bingo he got a pin# via snail mail, while it was only for 20% off, when I called about the dates it covered Oct 18th - end of the year. I did not get specific dates past Oct since it covered when we wanted to go.
While 20% was not what I had hoped for it was better than nothing. I was booked previously in September also but even though the discount is less, I am quite happy going in October instead.

I am wondering what might come out when the current promo ends but I have a feeling it will not cover my dates since the other 35/40% pin offers out there do not cover my mid-Oct dates

I got an email today from Disney Destinations, got so excited. All it says is hey.... We see you are looking to come to CSR during Oct. take a look at the resort. It gives me a link to the resort and a link to "book now" no pin. Ever get an email like that? I've saved a vacation package on the site so I know where they got the info but strange that its not a pin???

Last year we went in March (first family trip!) drove, and stayed off-site. This was before I knew about the benefits of staying on-site, pin codes, etc. Then, in the summer I received a room pin and my son and I took a short trip in November on-site. It was great. This time, for October, we are hoping to get a pin for free dining... it would be a first for us to do the dining plan if it was offered free. And we would upgrade to the regular plan.

The last time I spoke with a CM about our reservation, I told her that we were waiting to see if any discounts were coming out... we were hoping for free dining, and she said to make sure to book my ADRs on the 4-5 when it becomes available. In no way did she say there was going to be free dining offered, but she did encourage to go ahead and book... which is different from what I've read with some CMs saying there would be no more free dining.

I'm just waiting with the rest of you....

We just booked at the Beach Club resort last night for Oct 22-28. Crossing my fingers an hoping that we get a pin for that time frame. So far, neither one of us has any pins attached to our names. Maybe this will be the trick.

Double check the email, I have seen numerous people report getting the resort specfic emails from DD and there is a pin# in very small print in the lower left hand side(bottom of email)
Many said they missed seeing the pin# when they first looked at the offer

I keep getting PINs in the mail... either they are for the week before we go or the week after we go! Hoping I don't have to wait till August for a package deal. But, the trends from previous years suggest this.

Yep I have read that April 1 is when they usually come out so we will see. I did the Disney Math today on my ressie if they should come out with FD but even that since there are only 2 of us would only save us an additional $29.88 over the 20% pin I used, so I do not even think I will bother calling.
Hopeing for maybe a 35% off rack rate

Hopping into this thread. October is a BIG maybe and it would be a long weekend on a shoestring budget....but my friend and I REEEAAALLY want to experience MNSSHP!

So waiting for some discounts for Oct. 7 - 10th. Yep, holiday weekend, but i still have hope! Hoping for something better than FD, we don't need a dining plan....

I read in another thread that people have gotten PINS with blackout dates from 10/9-10/22. I also saw that someone received a bounceback offer with those dates blacked out as well. Someone explained that there is a huge conference taking place at that time. Do you think there will ever be any type of discount offered for these dates??? We will pay full price if we have to, but I know some of you are hoping for discounts for this period and I just wanted to prepare you for the fact that we might be out of luck. We will be at the POP Oct. 15-23 and we were hoping for free dining, but now I'm not sure we'll get ANY type of discount at all! Does anyone have any other info? Anyone been there when this conference was taking place?

if you get a free dining offer and the check-in date is not blacked out then you will receive FD for the length of your stay up to 14 days. If it is a room discount, the discount would only apply to the dates that are not blacked out and then you would pay rack rate for those dates not covered.
