October 2011 Code Watch

Go to the main site:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/

You'll see a picture of Cinderella. Either wait for it to change to the second slide or click in the lower right of the picture to change to Slide 2. Then click on that picture. It's a picture of Minnie Mouse rubbing noses with a little girl.

That Fall special has been on the main screen at disneyworld.com for at least a month now. I don't think its anything new. I've seen it for a while now.

I'm hoping for some discount too, but I don't believe thats it.

I really hope i'm wrong though.

Yes that splash screen has been up a month but it now takes you to a different page.

Yeah, the URL from the slide is clearly the correct one. I was confused by that extra bit in the posted URL because it says FY11Q3 - Summer.

SJS, just curious -- what time did that link go up? The web site supposedly updates between 5 and 6 in the morning with the phones going live at 7am. But the site was really late for FD so who knows. :surfweb:

I came across it sometime between 4:30 and 6, not sure exactly since first went to check to see if F! pkgs were up for the new dates in Oct, then I checked for some ADRs I am trying to change times for then went to check special offers. Saved the link and came back just before 7 and I couldn't get it to bring up any resorts then where previously it had brought up AK, CR and SSR when I searched for deluxe resorts between 11/16-11/21. This afternoon I got it to bring up WL for those dates but when I tried to remove the tix to see what the rack rate was to compare, the site went down for maintenance :confused3

I hope something good does come out tomorrow or very soon.

So how much is the savings? I'm staying at a value pop 7 nights 2 adults, 2 kids

I just happened to call this evening a 6:30 ET (Twice) to check on AP discounts and both 'CMs' indicated they could not check as the system was down for maintenance.

My experience and those posted here leads me to believe that I should expect this link to actually redirect to RO promo coded pages.

Guess, I'll be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow. JIC.

Fingers crossed!

I'm 5 weeks out and still don't have a room booked. I've never waited so long in my life...so here's hoping my gamble pays off!

Since we are just doing a short trip, I decided to opt for the AP rate at ASMu. For the room only it would be $225 but we are adding the DDP so our total will be $402. Not bad for four days, three nights at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Since we are taking my DD8's two year old sister with us, I thought the All Stars would be better for that WOW! factor. When we took her in March we stayed at AKV and she loved the animals. Wait until she sees those giant icons.

No change on the web site. Doesn't look like it will be today. But it will be soon.

Disney is waiting for me to make my final payment, :rotfl: it is due 9/4 but my plan has been to make it today so I guess I will go ahead and pay it off shortly.

Just called in case the website was slow to update like it did with FD and there has been nothing new released....at least we know it's coming!

can someone explain to me why you believe this will be a discount. The web address says promotion, but it also says rack rate. Also, have you ever known them to put a discount on their website even remotely on time let alone early? I haven't found any other sites mentioning a discount coming which seems odd to me. I am not trying to be negative because I would love to not pay rack rate for my whole trip, but I also don't want people to get their hopes up in case this isn't real. Isn't it possible that it states "available for most nights" because there are several dates already sold out? I'd love to hear some reasoning behind all the hype.

Can anyone explain???

I have my fingers crossed for all of you.

SJS, F! do you know where the most current list is? Is it on here? I found a list on the Dis but still has the same dates as original for my dates. Was wondering if they added more shows.

I wondered the same thing about the rck in the URL. But there are several reasons why I think this is a discount:

1. If you click thru to book and look in the bottom left it shows Rate Details. This doesn't show up if you book the regular way. The details are discount rate disclaimer language. One of them says the smile rate in the ad is based on cheapest room in Value season.
2. The lowest rack room rate is $82. The advertised $63 is 25% off. So unless it's false advertising, there's a discount there.
3. This is the same verbiage they used on the last RO discount. Different dates of course.
4. We are expecting a discount any day now. CMs have said the beginning of Sept. We know one will come eventually so this is not unexpected.
5. Yesterday there was a link to this page from the especial Offers page. Very briefly and then it was taken down.

Why it's on the front page the way it is, I have no idea. It's very misleading to people who don't know the rates. It clearly isn't tied to an active code at this point. But it seems very likely that it will be. No guarantees, of course. But we know the discount is coming; it seems probable that this is it.

Did the CM give any indication that they knew a code was in the works?
