October 2011 Code Watch

Ya I was just on there and nothing new............ bah, 9k suite for CSR and the same at others IF there is even availability.

when I called yesterday I was told to wait til the beginning of next month and check the website for room discount. I believe it was just a routine response though.

Hi Dissers! I just found out I have to go to a conference Oct 14-16, so am trying to plan a last minute (I usually plan WDW trips a year in advance....lol). Are there any codes or discounts for the week of Columbus Day (10/10-10/13)? Thanks!

Does anyone know if you call if they will give you the price *if* you had the AP discount or is there anyway to figure it out on our own? Not sure if it would be worth it for me to do it that way as some of you mentioned - I'll be back in November 2012 for a week (so it won't work for that trip), but only a couple of days in March 2012. Also, only I would need it since the reservation is under my name? My husband and son wouldn't?

Question about room-only discounts...

First time booking with an AP, but was too late to book for the resorts I wanted at the price I wanted ;). Was curious if/when a general public rate comes out if I can expect similar rates, and also if I could change a ressie that had an AP discount to the gen public discount?

Not sure if this makes any sense...I've been trying to book two one night stays at the beginning(10/15) and end of our trip(10/23) (not ideal, but it means longer time there!). We already have our first night booked, since that was more important, at All star sports. Wanted pop, but waited too long. :headache:
Thanks for any advice or help!

Actually, that's the third CM that's been reported saying that. After several weeks of "we have no idea", it's a hopeful sign. The month starts tomorrow but no reports of OT. We decided to wait until next Wed. Then we go with our backup plan.

The AP code room only is available and a GP code could come next week. But the issue is availability. That's a pretty busy weekend. If resorts are very full you won't be able to apply the discount. Never hurts to try though.

GP is likely to be exactly the same as AP. Or it could be like the pins that are going out, which is not as good. It won't be better than the AP; those are pretty much the best rates you can get.

You can only figure it out on your own if you already have the pass and can get online to the passholder's site. Another alternative is to post your dates & requested resort here and some passholder could look it up for you - that's often done.

I just called to see if a PIN was attached to my name...LOL - yeah right!
Also asked if she could check the discount for AP - She could only give us a queen with bunk beds for it to apply, but we are doing the club level this time so it wouldn't work out. Now I'm not even sure if a GP discount came out it would help us.

We're going 10/12-10/17 so free dining doesn't apply. I was really hoping for something. We went in 09 and stayed at GF club level (thanks to my mom taking the family) the same week we are going now and saved a bunch with the discount - so I was really hoping we'd get something similar. It's paid now, but it makes me so sad that our dates are yucky this year. BUT on the bright side....it won't make a difference when I see my little guy meet Mickey for the first time!!!

Thanks for the help!! As we've always transferred in RCI points to stay in the villas, seeing the actual rates for rooms has been a bit shocking to me! Its only when I view the rack rate prices that I realize how good the discount is!

Another question...
For our first night, Pop was originally $84. Now it has jumped up to $135. I assume this is because they have "sold out" of rooms available for that discount, right?

I got some pixie dust!!! So I had a RO for 10/22 and my FD package started on 10/23. Last week when the FD dates changed I tried to add the 22nd to my package and was told it wasn't available. I've been checking and today YIPPY, there it was so I called as fast as I could and had my reservation adjusted :)

So excited to not have to check in and out. The extra credits will be nice but more excited about the check in/out.

That is great that you were able to add the 22nd, one less thing to worry about now :thumbsup2

THanks SJS, I'm so excited and hoping someone else that was looking to do the same sees this and can benefit too. I know a lot of people had that 10/22 day as a RO. Was so surprised to see it open tonight, couldn't dial the phone fast enough:rotfl:

That's what I would assume. If the percentage of bookings went high enough, the discount won't be available. However, people cancel all the time. So this could drop again.

It really depends on where you are staying. They didn't have it available at POR, but at the Caribbean, but we didn't want to switch resorts for one night.

I was hoping there would be a GP special offer out today. It doesn't look it we'll get any sort of discount. I have to make final payment on Monday.
