October 2011 Code Watch

I was hoping there would be a GP special offer out today. It doesn't look it we'll get any sort of discount. I have to make final payment on Monday.

I paid off our trip Tuesday, but I have not put our QSDP on yet in hopes that if a room offer comes out, I can apply the discount and THEN add the plan so I won't have to pay the change fee since the overall price would go up.

I am at peace with what we have to pay either way,though... it is what it is, I suppose.

I was hoping for something but all the moderates were booked for the dates I was looking at and the only deluxe left was on the very high end. Looks like ASMu without a code for us and little souvenir shopping.

That was smart. I think that I am just going to make my final payment and stop worrying about. If I pay it off today, maybe a discount will come out tomorrow. I still have a few days.

Rumors suggest "first week of September". Take that FWIW, but we knew there was no overtime this week so I'm not surprised it wasn't today. Could really apply to this week or next. My bet would be Tuesday but that's a total guess until we have more firm info.

I came across this early this am, twice I have been able to bring up bookings but then the site seems to die and says reservations can not be processed.

I wanted to check the prices and see if it is just an advertisement offering rooms at rack rate or if it is a true discount.
It is no longer on the special offer site that I can see but does come up with the link I saved.

Maybe tomorrow???? I did not try calling I figure the CM probally have no clue.

Bad thing is I have to pay my trip off by Sunday, was planning on doing it tomorrow but if it is a GP offer and I could save money :confused3

anyhow heres the link

Ooooh. Maybe it is something. Fingers crossed. I have to make final payment 9/5.

That link is working again so I tried booking it several times just to confirm the amount and unfortunately it was the exact same amount that my current reservation is costing me.

Thank you for posting it, maybe in the future it will be linked to a discount. Let's hope anyway!!!!

I could be wrong, but it looks like THIS IS IT!

Given that the link still goes to an active page and it's clearly a fall offer, I think this is for real. The fact that it went up prematurely on the Special Offers page was clearly an IT mistake. I am able to click through it to reservations but no discounts are showing up for any resort; it's all rack rate. That could be an availability issue but I suspect the code just isn't working yet.

So -- what does this mean? That $63 is the same price they quoted for the last Room-Only discount (40/30/25) advertisement. The only difference here is that it's not "room-only" in that they have it set as a package with the tickets. Not a big deal for those of us looking to book our whole trip; but this will affect anyone trying to book one day before FD.

Half an hour ago I would have said tomorrow wasn't likely -- in our review of historical discounts on MouseSavers, the only day that never showed up was Friday. But now I know i'll be up bright and early tomorrow morning. And every morning after that until this goes live. :goodvibes

Thanks Figmentchick!!

SJS, that was so smart to save the link!! I have to agree with Terri, just because it doesn't show the rates when you go through could simply be becasue the code isn't active yet but the fact that someone at disney created the actual page is a really good sign!!

I'm sending pixie dust to all of you waiting and with any luck it will be released tomorrow before you all have to pay off your packagepixiedust:pixiedust:

That was me this am I woke up at about 4:20am and thought it is Sept 1 , let me go check for discounts :rotfl:

Would be nice you have no idea how excited I was when I saw it was a fall promo, until it would not work for me

You can actually get to this from the Main page -- click on the slide with this picture that says "Fall". But the code is clearly not active.

In I.T. we call this -- "someone is going to lose their job".

I'm supposed to be scrapbooking right now -- I started my Layout-A-Day challenge today. How am I supposed to finish now? How am I supposed to sleep? :rotfl:

The link on the front page is legit too. The one posted up above has unneeded code. I was experimenting stripping off the extra just to make sure it matched previous url codes. Turns out the same code is on the front page add. Should be active in the morning. :woohoo: My dates are sold out for my resort so it doesn't help me.

edit: System is updating for CMs. Probably a good sign for discount hunters.

edit 2: The landing for the promotion is up but the actual button doesn't have the right url code. I think I've got the url figured out for the new deal but it says that the dates selected are outside of this promotion.

See this bit in the corner:

**Rates Details
Room-only rates shown are before tax for two adults.
Rates do not apply to deluxe, concierge or suite room types.
These room-only rates are only available if room is booked separately; they do not determine package price.
Lowest rate applies to a standard room during value season.

This suggests that just because they're advertising it as a package doesn't mean you have to buy the tickets. And that would be consistent with previous room-only offers.

That Fall special has been on the main screen at disneyworld.com for at least a month now. I don't think its anything new. I've seen it for a while now.

I'm hoping for some discount too, but I don't believe thats it.

I really hope i'm wrong though.

Yeah, the URL from the slide is clearly the correct one. I was confused by that extra bit in the posted URL because it says FY11Q3 - Summer.

SJS, just curious -- what time did that link go up?

The web site supposedly updates between 5 and 6 in the morning with the phones going live at 7am. But the site was really late for FD so who knows. :surfweb:

There was one that covered Aug-Sept timeframe but that expired two weeks ago. This one has new dates.

Terri...can you explain what you are meaning by getting to it from the main page? I'm having a blond moment and can't figure this out..TIA
