October 2011 Code Watch

I got an email from Disney Destinations yesterday and I was so excited -- turned out to be a confirmation that they were shipping my customized maps. As if I actually wanted the maps... :headache:

I got the maps too (I've gotten them a lot over the years!). I was happy to get the maps but confess I was hoping for a PIN to come to me as well. Oh well. At least some folks are getting them!!
 
I got a code for the 25,35 etc that others were getting earlier in the week by email and then yesterday in the mail, I got a hard copy of the same cose along with a game on code for 30% off a couple of weeks in October only. Funny thing is that the CM did not see any code on their end, but when they put in the original code it gave me the larger 30% discount. I have no idea how this mess works, we have never gotten a code before then I got 2 in 3 days....

When DH got his pin back in Feb the CM did not see it either, his came snail mail, the CM asked me for the #

Ours was only for 20% so still hopeing here for a better pin or GP offer.
 
actually booked within about 2 hours of opening the email. I did have to give them the code, but the one I gave them was not the discount I ended up getting. We booked at the POP and there were no more preferred available for the discount (don't really know if they ever were or not) but said that they still were plenty busy for what it is worth.

I really think that they should do away with the PINS completely and if they are going to discount, it is XX% take it or leave it and be done with all the games.
 

Still checking the email, please o please send me a pin code!!!!! We want to stay Oct 16-18. I was even able to score a Le Cellier lunch on the 17th, but I need the place to stay 1st.
 
I got the same pin code as PP yesterday, 25 percent off Value and Mod, 35 percent off Deluxe and Villas.

And within a few hours of picking up the mail, I had booked airline tickets, a courtyard view room at WL and MNSSHP tickets for Oct. 13-17! :banana:

My daughter is 20+ and in college. She went down for her HS graduation present to herself, with girlfriends, so she has been "on the books" so to speak, since then. Last year we used my other daughter's PIN to get the discount (she was 22 at the time).

:rotfl2: ok that's even better than the one telling me my maps were shipping. (I only ordered the maps to try to get a pin code.)
 
I ended up putting a package 'on hold' with AAA. She said she could hold it for a week. I was surprised at this. Disney has done courtesy holds for me before but I could have sworn it was only for a day or two. I'm only getting a bit over 10% off the room but it's better than nothing. If a better deal does come out, she said she would apply that. Here's to hoping for a mid-October discount!! I'm crossing my fingers that tomorrow, or Monday, or even Wednesday, they release something. And I search my email and mail everyday but no pin :sad1:

I know after reading about people saying they cancelled and then rec'd a pin but with my luck even that would not work.

Keeping fingers crossed that any day now we will see a GP offer
 
I'm giving up on pins and the GP offer. Setting my sights on a moderate rather than the WL. No availability at the moment but I'll keep watching.

My husband and I talked about this, but then I realized we booked airfare with Disney Destinations which is nonrefundable. ugh!! I really could use a room discount too, as I prepaid everything at rackrate. I'm such a newb at this! :eek:

I called yesterday to see if a pin was attached to my name and nothing! The cast member was really nice when I expressed my frustration about the fact that we go every 6 months to a year now consistently for the past ten years and for being a loyal onsite resort guest I felt it wasn't fair that I did not receive a pin code. It truly is a shame disney has no sort of customer loyalty plan. I go back year after year and to not receive any discount at this point is quite frustrating especially when I know they are giving discounts for the same dates I am going to some people. As a matter of fact there was a pin code under my maiden last name but it wound up being a person with the same last name but different addresss.

I find it rather unfair that I have to pay rack rate and I consider myself a loyal customer. I an not looking for any sort of a handout but its frustrating to know every night when I put my head on the pillow at the beach club some other guest down the hall got a discount and just for being "random" (pin codes are given out at random) and not for being loyal.
