October 2011 Car Rental Rates

Just booked an economy car from Oct. 23 - 30 for $190 using Budget BCD D454300. I got the code from the Mousesavers web site, which says it's for general use. It also says the deal can be cancelled or modified at any time, so try it and see!

The base rate for my economy car was $129, and the intermediate (including a small SUV) was $149 (I think the total for that was about $219). Good luck!

What vehicle type are you looking at? Right nowi have 3 reservations, 2 with Budget for a intermediat SUV and Van for $358 from Oct. 22 - 30, and also a full size carat Alamo for $229 for the same period.
There's only two of us, so we're looking at National EA or fullsize from anyone else. Rates are coming down a bit and I'm getting a little closer! I just reserved National EA for $236 and made a new Alamo ressie at $240 for a full size. I have a feeling the rates will come down even more. *fingers crossed*

My Alamo full size $260 just came down to $229 inc taxes. Used Insiders code 7014667 and $30 off coupon from Mousesavers. I just realized there is more than one Insiders code. 7014667 code says good til end of Sept but it worked for our dates Oct 6-13.

Just tried it for late Oct and it's sold out.

where do you get the mousesavers code? I get the monthly email but i didnt see any code? also what is the insiders code? can anyone use it thanks so much. We need two vehicles for 10 days right now they are at $450. each!!! I booked them months ago and that was the best i found...makes me sick to spend that on car rental.

Mousesavers.com, go under car rentals from the left menu, then you can pick the car rental company for codes. Some codes require various memberships others are good for anyone.

You can also try Carrentalsavers.com for codes. This site has a real nice set up of codes listed by company and also by memberships (i.e. Visa, Mastercard, BJ's, AARP, etc.).

Alamo Insiders is their free to join program that gets you access to lower rates (hopefully) and also some coupons that are a bit lower than without the Insiders. Go to Alamo.com and look on the lower left of the website.

It seems that neither site, Mousesavers or Carrentalsavers are complete so you may wish to visit both.

Good Luck!! There are alot of codes you'll quickly find out which ones are going to work the best for you.

Thanks for the tip. I got the 7014667 code to work for our dates but I couldn't get the $30 coupon to work. It's strange since our dates are 10/3-7 and it says the coupon will expire prior to our trip. I hope they extend the dates on that Insiders $40 off coupon!!

Yeah hoping for that $40 coupon to carry over to Oct also.

Hi all,

Just got Alamo, Standard for 10/4-10/11 (7 days, 1 hour) for $213 using the insiders id 7014667 and the entertainment book $30 off. Alamo does not have a standard selection at MCO, so it's essentially a full-size.

Will keep on the codes for the next couple of weeks. Glad to join the hunt.

I'm hoping for the $40 extension also!! Joxer1014 seems to be correct though. If you put in your dates 1 wk, then 2 wks, then 3 wks out, you can see the price comes down significantly. If I can get anywhere near $100-150 for 7 days, 2 hrs, I'm going to try to hold out.

Can someone post a coupon code they have succesfully used for Alamo in October? I see all the ID codes, and have used one, but have never found a public coupon code that I can stack..hate being able to COMBINE discounts, but not able to find one!! Right now at $144 for a full size Sep. 30-Oct. 8 at Alamo! Thanks so much!

go back thru the last few pages of the thread, several have been listed you need to plug them in for your dates to see if they'll work

even though i was tired after driving back from Cedar Point;) i made sure to check my rental car ressies

my alamo droppped again:) to $159xx for 8 days, midsize beginning 10/1 (7014667 - insiders - & ad2359fdf - american airlines). This is approx $30 less than i paid last year same time span for FS with national. my national res that hasn't changed in ages is now over $100 more, still hoping it drops though

I've got 10/2-10/6 with Budget for $182 (all inclusive), but that seems high for a compact for 5 days. I'm getting clobbered because we aren't there on a Saturday and every coupon code I can find (for Budget and otherwise) must include a Saturday night. Any tips for a non-Saturday discount?

bbwhos thanks so much I will check those:thumbsup2

That's awesome :thumbsup2 ... our Alamo rental is $366xx for 10 days, midsize beginning 10/5 (using same codes). And you're right, our National rental is about $100 more than that  I really really hope the rates go down

Not seeing any deals yet for my dates (Oct. 15-29). My last trip in August, the rates did drop as my dates got closer--just under 2 weeks and there was finally some movement. I sure hope they do that again. I'm getting about the same price between Alamo and National, so am sticking with National right now.

Can anyone tell me where this american airlines coupon comes from? Its gotten me my best minivan rate yet for 9/27-10/4!!

Through hotwire I got alamo midsize for 11 days (9/29 -10/9) for 198.05 inc. all taxes and fees. I thought that was good. I hate that I can't bypass the lines as I have club memberships everywhere but I think it was worth the price.
