October 2011 Car Rental Rates

Sorry - I meant AA coupon code AD2359FDF for $35 off (the coupon AD7979SDX is an AARP $30 coupon). Has anyone used this code and what coupon do you need to present? Thanks!

I'm hoping the last min deals that they have going on currently get extended to the end of next month because the deal for the mini-van is awesome.

Anyone find a better deal for a mini- van rental out of TPA (7pm)on Oct. 15, and returning it at MCO early in the morning on Oct. 21? The best I can find is $474.
Thanks!

Did you try the Travelocity code x474200 with Budget?

Pulled up $305 for me with your dates. Did still have my Raipd Res number in there but don't think that has anything to do with the rate.

Seen on these boards you might want to actually book this through Travelocity to make sure that rate is secure but you can see the rate on Budget's site.

So both of my rates (through Alamo and National) are staying steady, no matter what I do. Been that way for almost a week now.

Today's the last day for the current Last Minute Specials on both sites, so hopefully new ones will be up tomorrow, and something good will happen!

That's what I am hoping also. I am eagerly hoping tomorrow morning brings a last minute deal for my dates since it's just two weeks from today!

I'm still just under 4 weeks away and I would just love to see National come close to Alamo's rates. Right now there's a $150 difference between the 2. I love to use National, but the difference right now is huge for the exact same size car. I did see further drops since yesterday with Alamo, but National is not moving at all.

Darn! Can't find those rates at all. I'm still much higher at $400+. Any other suggestions? I did put in my Rapid Res number and got well over $500 on both Budget and Travelocity with that code.

I found a rate on Hotwire.....$250 and some change for a mini van rental...8 days including all taxes and fees.....should I take it? Part of me wants to just rent a full size through Alamo and pray that we can get a mini van because its in the same row! ;) We will be having 3 adults and two kids in car seats...plus our luggage......

In your situation for a Guaranteed MiniVan, I would take it and stop looking.

That's a pretty good rate for a minivan after taxes. If you have to have one, I would take it. While a full size would work for your party, you would have to have a backup plan on your arrival day to deal with the luggage (like part of your party would have to take DME).

We don't have that option since we are staying offsite! :) I guess I better book it then....I have commitment issue! ;)

I have a 8 day rental from Alamo starting Sept 27th...if I subtract out the 4 extra hours I need beyond the 8 days, its 205$ for a Sienna and 190 or so for a 7 passenger...

I dont know if October will see rates as low as that with the holidays and the fact that some people are already getting notice that the codes have exceeded allowance...

I think if you go with the hotwire deal you wont be seriously disappointed...30$ maybe but thats in the noise for piece of mind with 3 kids in the backseat!

my rate has been steady all week at 106.00 for a midsize 9/27-10-6 now today using same codes its up to $125.

Still glad I reserved it when I got it to $100 out the door, but I thought it would be going down as I got closer not going up.

Wow....So If i pick up and drop off at noon.....the cost is $250....if I drop off at 5pm (we have an evening flight)...its $280!.....$30 for 5 more hours! OUCH!

Hi all,

Anyone use Dollar? for my dates of 10/6 - 10/14 (pickup MCO, drop off JAX), they are the best rate at $150. (using City Special, no special codes needed).

I would love to use my favorite rental agency, Alamo, but they are crazy high at $800+. :sad2: Now, I kind of wish, I was returning to MCO just for the awesome rates!

I have used Budget in the past, but their rates, still haven't come down either or the codes I've used are sold out.

Also, has anyone brought down their own SunPass? I just ordered one, so I don't have to deal with the car rental agencies high rates for tolls.

Thanks!

Very odd. My copy/paste from the rate quote below. No idea where that second BCD code is coming from and I actually pasted the X474200 into the coupon box on the first screen.

I noticed if I clicked the "Pay Now Rate" it actually dropped my $250 rate and plugged in $470 plus tax. It kicked off all of the BCD codes too when it gave me the higher rate with Pay Now.

I noticed 4 "tabs" I can pick at the top of the car selection that says "Your Rate Options". Anything other than the X474200 and the minvan is $470.

Figured it out now, whatever code in bold on the far left bottom "Offer Codes" are the rates for that code.

From the research we did, it appeared that two weeks prior to our trip would be the best time to book our rental car. Sure enough, this week we saw dramatic price drops. We're about two weeks out and ALAMO had the cheapest rates.

Company: ALAMO
Pick-up/Drop-off: MCO
Size: mid-size vehicle
Total Price: $155.00 total
Days: 9 days in early Oct(includes a Saturday night)
Discount Code: We rec'd a 15% off code via mail because we are American Express Card holders

If you're 2 weeks out, have an Amex card, and need to rent a small-to-full size car, this is your time to book!
