October 2010!! Lets Plan Together!!

Woohoo! Woke up this morning in the North East, and it is finally BEAUTIFUL and not so hot!! :goodvibes It almost feels like a fall day. Speaking of fall, only 54 days until we return to the most magical place on earth!party:

I feel like a little kid, I am soo excited!;)

Just found this thread! We have 53 days till our Oct 2010 trip. I am taking DS7 and meeting my mom who is flying in from another state. We are staying at Pop. This is our first stay at a value and DS7 is pretty excited about the resort. I took DS16 to visit WWoHP 2 weeks ago and watched DS7 cry as we left at 4am for the airport. :sad1: it was so sad but I reminded him that he is going to Disney soon and his brother is not plus he gets to miss a couple days of school...

This is also my first time on any dining plan and looking forward to trying different restaurants like Sci-Fi at DHS and Yak and Yeti at AK!: :goodvibes
Yesterday I booked a Pirates League session for DS7.....first time doing this and I'm sure he's gonna love it!pirate:

I didn't get the park hopper passes this trip since I didn't want to be running back and forth with mom (60) so I had to plan all of our days accordingly including meals at parks and a night of MNSSHP and unfortunately we will not get to see Fantasmic this trip due to it's limited showing and spending $150 for ph isn't worth it for one evening. We will get to see Wishes, Electrical parade, Illuminations, Boo to You parade and fireworks show at MNSSHP (the name escapes me). DS7 and I have seen F! on prior trips with DH and older son so I keep telling myself it's fine but I don't think mom has ever seen it. Oh well...I guess it will be ok, right?

Looking forward to Mickey Mail in the next month!!!:yay:

Woo-Hoo! Hello fellow October visitors!!!

7 weeks from yesterday 'til we arrive. (10/21 -10/30) Currently set for VWL but might mix it up a bit and throw in some POR FQ at the beginning for a little extra flavor (especially if the AP rates come out and tempt me!!):rotfl2:

Happy October planning one and all!! :surfweb:

I was about to say we are going at the same time, but I see our tickers are different. Is yours not 10 weeks? We arrive October 2nd and that was 7 weeks from yesterday. I don't want to ruin the friendship by adding to your countdown :goodvibes- I was just wondering if it was a typo.

Whoops! You are absolutely correct. I have a "weeks" countdown at work and yes indeed, it did say 10 weeks. For some odd reason I was thinking 10 times 7 was 70 days..yet when I worked it backwards, came up with 7 weeks. I think it is called "wishful thinking math" or something to that effect:rotfl:

Or perhaps I forgot to tell you that in the US, weeks are now 10 days long, instead of 7 so we get can get so much more accomplished :rolleyes1

3 semesters of Calculus, tons of Stats and Econ courses for the college degree that just failed me miserably in my desire to get to WDW sooner. My parents would be so proud!! :upsidedow

I should NOT have clicked on this thread!!! My stomach is jumping I'm soooo excited!! Our trip is Oct 23- Nov 1. Subscribing....... yippeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well according to my blackberry I have 70 days until my familys first disney vacaction. I have finished packing the first aid kit, benadryl band-aids germX wipes imodium because you never know what will happen and some allergy meds for every one in case of bug bites and lots of sunscreen. I hope im not forgetting anything. I got an email from our hotels concierge itinerary planner offering to assist me. well I gave them a call and they are so helpful and nice. I even got gps enabled maps of all the parks for my phone. My idea of a perfect vacation is a quite beach far away from everything needless to say my family picked this one and i think im the most excited. I just hope i can deal with all the noise. My mother in law mentioned that she would love to meet up with us at the parks(really):sad1:.Maybe I should pack a flask:confused:Anyhow nothing can ruin my fun not rain not crowds not a bad hair day not even my mother in law.

I guess that I can add myself to the October crew. My original vacation was supposed to be in September (26 more days to be exact) but I ended up rescheduling today for "financial reasons ". Now, I'm starting again from scratch and just working to picking the right week in October to go! Still excited though!

One question though, I was looking at the week of Halloween to possibly book and was wondering if the MNSSHP events tend to sell out way ahead of time. I know that the day of Halloween more than likely will but I was wondering about the other dates (24th, 26th, 28th, 29th). Thankkkssss!! :thumbsup2

Hi from a newbie! :) My friend keeps linking me here every time I ask him Disney questions and I went to sign up and found out I already had an account from a few months ago. I don't remember signing up..lol.. anyway, hi! My FH and I are planning our trip to Disney in October! We are staying off-site Oct 15-22 and then staying at Pop Century 22-26. It's my first time staying at Disney and other than a 6 hour visit to MK in 2001, my first time at the parks! Secretly, I think I'm more excited for Disney than I am for the wedding. :woohoo:

Too bad about postponing, but that just gives you more time to get excited! I'm sure someone else will have more experience about which dates may sell-out for MNSSHP, but we went the same week last year and purchased our tix for the 27th a couple days ahead (either to get the advance discount or DVC rate, I can't recall) and we did not have any problems. The park was not even very crowded. Crowdwise it was similar to an EMH during March to us.

Have fun planning your October trip:dance3:

I got my 1st pin code last week so we booked AKL pool-view room for Oct 9-16. Here is our plan:
Saturday 9th - Magic Kingdom, Dinner at Whispering Canyon
Sunday 10th - Animal Kingdom, Dinner at Kona Cafe
Monday 11th - HS, Dinner Chef Mickey
Tuesday 12th - Epcot, Dinner Le Cellier
Wednesday 13th - MK, Breakfast Crystal Palace & Dinner 1900 Park Fare
Thursday 14th - Breakfast 1900 Park Fare, Epcot, Dinner Ohana
Friday 15th - To Islands of Adventure to check out Harry Potter.
Saturday 16th - Universal Studios
I'm so excited! The kids don't know yet and they are going to be ecstatic! Only 83 days left!!

So, with the new discounts that came out yesterday, I was able to change my package to the Polynesian. I'm using the 40% off discount instead of free dining. I still added dining on but only had to pay about $200 more then my initial package. I've ALWAYS wanted to stay at the Poly but could never justify the extra cost. I am so excited. Can't wait til Oct 9!!!:banana:

Well I got a call from my husband and he wanted to to tack on an extra day to our stay. Just got off the phone with disney and the are all sold out of beach club, club level rooms. So they switched me to Yacht club with the extra day. Im so excited!! I wonder how busy they are if they are out of club rooms? oh well trip advisor has it as the customers fav disney hotel. I just hope my kids like it.

Hello everyone, I just saw this thread and decided to join in... I am going to Disney with my 2 kids, my sis and brother-in-law from Oct. 9th to 16th. We have booked MNSSHP for the 11th!

Hi gang - I just wanted to give a heads up that I'm organizing a DISmeet on Oct 1 at Boma for dinner. There will be some people running the Wine & Dine Half marathon there as well as others who aren't. Please come join us if you can.
