October 2009 Code Watch!!

Sorry, but how does the mail thing happen? Total n00b, do I need to sign up somewhere for something??

No one knows for sure :confused3 Basically, the only advise I can give is the same advice that I have been given and that is to sign up for any and every Disney email/mailing list you can. I've been to WDW 7 times, I am registered to mousesavers, disneyworld.com, ticketmania, disneyshopping, com, and a ton of others and I have never once gotten a PIN code discount. I think that this is literally a luck of the draw thing. Right now, it looks like I might not even be able to (after starting this wonderful thread) this October because it's going to be 3 grand for 2 of us at POP :scared1: I am really hoping for some kind of discount! Pray for me! :wizard:

We just booked for October 13-18 at AKV with a one bedroom savannah view at Kidani village. I wasn't too optimistic about receiving any sort of discount on this room for this week (and we don't need dining or ticket discounts) so I decided to go ahead and just book it now to have it. I was very excited to get 20%off with AAA. I had thought AAA discounts for this room type would be scarce. I will keep a look out for a better deal...but i am happy.

We go to WDW every year for DH's bday...this Oct will be our 8th trip and 1st time at Caribbean beach - pirate room of course for DS. Last year I got real lucky and found a website called mousemisers.com and received an awesome awesome rate. Now we have stayed on property 7 of the 8 times and have paid $49 a night (thank you Mickey d's) and as much as $129.00 p/night all with deals. I am hoping to keep up my string of luck. I always book the hotel I want in November and then apply codes as they appear. This way if worst comes to worst I at least have the room I want. Good luck all and hope to see you there.

For the PP who asked about Halloween being crowded, the reports I read for 2008 said it was crowded. Also, tickets to MNSSHP sold out, so if you plan to be there, buy the tickets early.

I was there Oct. 8-15 2008. At one point I had a room discount (AAA), then found a code (think it came out around Aug.) that saved me more, then finally ended up with free dining. (this came out through Disney Visa and was close to the date I was leaving. I paid a $50 change fee, but still saved $) We did MNSSHP on the 9th or 10th and it rained, actually poured. It was crowed, but not too bad. We considered going back on Columbus Day, but opted not to. Turns out it also sold out and was very crowded.

I've booked a bounceback offer for next year, same time. I am a Disney Visa holder and never get the codes, nor have I received a post card. It's just luck I guess.

Thanks! That clears up some of the confusion anyway:cutie: Guess the only thing to do is get all the info I can and try to stay optomistic. I'll be sure to be prayin' for ya!~

Well, i'm new to this site but have been to Disney now 5 times. We haven't been in about 7years though. So, we are planning a trip for Oct 09 for Halloween. Last week I recieved a post card for a 40% off stay at a "Value" resort. However, i did call and was told i could use it at a Moderate resort as well. I haven't booked our trip yet as i'm waiting for tax time. What is the best way to do this? If i put a hold on a room now is it possible that airline rates will go down? And if i wait for airline rates what if i can't fly out on my date i've booked a hotel? I was wondering could i book my hotel for a 10 day stay and later change it when i get an ailine to the 6 days i actually want? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks for the help.:cool2:

I just tried to call and see if I have a pin attached to my account. I was on hold for 35 minutes and gave up. :(

I am not a Disney expert, but I believe you have up to 45 days before your arrival to change your ressie with no charge. After that there is a fee. During 2008, it was $50. So yes, you could book 10 days, then change it.

I went in Oct 08. I booked my room in Feb or March, then got air in late March or April when it was cheap. So I would wait on airfare for now.

If you have the deposit money ($200, I think) you might want to book the room now. I don't know if they sell out of the pin rooms or not, but it'd be a shame to miss out. Final payment is due at 45 days from arrival, I think.

If I'm wrong on any of this, the experts will help out I'm sure. (At least I hope so :rolleyes1 )

Well - it was worth a try - I did have a pin associated with my name! It's about 25% from what I can tell - better than nothing :thumbsup2

We are staying at BWV 10/21 - 10/29 and we are also saving over 20% w/AAA!

We stayed w/a pin last year and fell in love w/BWV.

hmm...maybe i should give this a try! Maybe I'll get lucky!

We are booked from 9/30-10/4 at the GF with a garden view room. Booked the package which includes room, base myw tickets and dining plan (1 ts, 1cs, 1 snack). Total cost = $2,600.

I tried to use a AAA discount for the room only and was able to save about $260 = $1,640, but if you add back in the cost of tickets (2 adult / 2 child) = $840 and then the dining plan- I think I'm better off with the package- any suggestions?

I'm hoping for a 40% off of room- that would be great!

Came home today, ready to pay deposit..... got a pin. I just emailed DU back to find out if they can handle of if I need to do directly w/Disney.

But....I may need to tweak dates a little, but it covers my birthday, when I wanted to be there!!!

HOORAY. I'll post an update. Of course, it's in my maiden name, as it was last year when I took advantage of it at BWV.

These are the same dates within a day or so, that we are planning this year. I don't have AAA, but I am really hoping that we get a shot at free dining at that time. I know it may be about a week too late, but the way things are going, you never know.
I just wish the dates for any fall deals where out. I hate to wait till April to figure which days to book. Of course a 40% pin would work, too.

I'm curious - what package did you book for the GF from 9/30-10/4 for $2600? That is a great price esp. with dining. When I do those dates online I get around $3200.

I got BoardWalk Conceirge for 2457 for 7 nights. in October. I will need to book a couple of days ahead seperate as they said it wouldn't let them book it with the code reservation..so I'm thinking of trying allstar for 2 nights. I think my boys would love it, now to figure out which one....
